Randbats Spotlight Tournament
Welcome to the fourth bimonthly Spotlight Tour! This iteration will feature the recently elected Gen 7 Pokebilities Random Battle format. This tournament is your chance to showcase your skills in Gen 7 Pokebilities Random Battle in a single elimination best-of-3 series.
What is Gen 7 Pokebilities Random Battle?
This is gen 7 Random Battle, but with Pokebilities. Pokebilities is an OM in which all Pokemon have all of their abilities activated. For example, Bibarel would have Unaware, Moody and Simple at the same time. Mega Pokemon lose their base ability upon Mega Evolving but still keep their base forme's other abilities (Example: Heracross has Moxie. After Mega Evolving, it replaces Moxie with Skill Link but still has Guts and Swarm). Since Pokebilities is built-in, bugs that occur when you add it as a rule aren't present (such as Guts not properly ignoring burn effect).
Prizes
The winner of the Spotlight Tournament will receive the Room Prize Winner rank in the Random Battles room for a month and the possibility to pick a format for the next Randbats Spotlight poll!
How does the tour work?
It’s simple:
1. Contact your opponent on their Smogon wall and decide on a time to battle.
2. Battle each other in the format “Gen 7 Pokebilities Random Battle”. This format can be found under 'Randomized Format Spotlight', at the top of the third column. Alternatively, use /challenge gen7pokebilitiesrandombattle.
3. The first player to 2 wins advances to the next round.
Note that this tournament will end before the next Randbats Spotlight Ladder commences, i.e., before November 2023. This will determine the pace of the tournament. For this reason, extensions will generally NOT be granted.
Please note:
1. All scheduling attempts MUST be done publicly on Smogon Walls. No other proof of communication will count for act calls regarding scheduling attempts.
2. You MUST post replays of your wins.
