Pokémon: Stantler
Typing: Ice
Stats
: HP: 80 (+7) | Atk: 115 (+20) | Def: 90 (+28) | SpA: 65 (-20) | SpD: 65 | Spe: 85 | BST: 500
Abilities: Intimidate | Slush Rush | HA: Refrigerate
Tweaks to existing moves/abilities: +U-turn, +Triple Axel and +Swords Dance
Move Changes: Bounce (Power= 85 | Accuracy: 95% | PP: 8)
How this makes it more interesting: Stantler can be a Wallbreaker with Slush Rush + Swords Dance or a Scarfer with Refrigerate. He hava good moves to counter his weakness (e.g. Bounce and Earthquake) and a decent base stats for a Pokémon in PU tier.
Also, it is Ice type because he is a Reindeer (With Christimas theme)

Stats (changes highlighted in bold)
: 80 (+7) / 100 (+5) / 75 (+13) / 80 (-5) / 75 (+10) / 95 (+10) (505 BST)
Abilities (changes highlighted in bold): Intimidate, Magician, Sap Sipper
Moves: -Close Combat, +Expanding Force, Magic Coat, Stored Power
Tweaks to existing moves/abilities:
Magician: When used by Stantler: Summons Magic Room for 5 turns on switch-in
How this makes it more interesting:
"The curved antlers subtly change the flow of air to create a strange space where reality is distorted." -Stadium 2 dex entry and beyond
While there are quite a few Normal/Psychics in CFM there are none that primarily focus on physical offense like Stantler does. Magic Room seems like a fun underutilized gimmick that ties back into the Pokedex entry shown above.

Pokémon: Cursola
Typing:
Ghost.png

Stats (changes highlighted in bold): 70 (+10) / 80 (-15) / 65 (+15) / 145 / 130 / 40 (+10) (530 BST)
Abilities (changes highlighted in bold): Weak Armor, Perish Body
Moves: +Acid, Gunk Shot, Overheat
How this makes it more interesting:
I basically just took its current theoretical job and made it actually able to perform said job, mainly with a boost to its physical bulk for better use of Strength Sap and tanking for Perish Body. The new moves are to tie in with the bleached coral/climate change motif.

Pokemon: Grumpig
Typing: Psychic
Stats (changes highlighted in bold):80/45/75/95/115/70 (480)
Abilities (changes highlighted in bold): Thick Fat/Own Tempo/Competitive
Moves:
+After You, Disable, Encore, Rapid Spin, Cosmic Power, Dazzling Gleam, Nasty Plot?
How this makes it more interesting: The new ability Competitive comes from its possible association with the pearls of wisdom and allows the pig to be used in an offensive fashion. The stat buffs address its weaker physical Defense and improve slightly its Special Attack/Defense, at the cost of some Speed. The new moves are some status moves fitting its theme of manipulating trickster, Rapid Spin (coming from its dancing skills), Cosmic Power and Dazzling Gleam (two moves commonly learned by many Psychic types). And then there is Nasty Plot that allow it to attempt a bulky sweeper role.

NOTE: I don't know whether to count Nasty Plot as a new move though, as it does appear listed in its hypothetical TR learnpool in the datamine, but until Grumpig does actually make in the games, this stuff just remains floating around.

Pokemon: Stantler
Typing: Normal/Ice
Stats (changes highlighted in bold)
: 80/100/70/85/75/95 (BST: 505)
Abilities (changes highlighted in bold): Intimidate, Slush Rush, Sap Sipper
Moves: +Triple Axel, Present, Blizzard, Hail, Ice Beam. -Boomburst, Rain Dance, Sunny Day, etc. (Basically non-hail weather moves that aren't Thunder)

Present: When used on Stantler or Delibird, heals to full HP and cures status effects. (because Christmas lol)

How this makes it more interesting
: Ahh Stantler, a deer that we tried to make comparable to Sawsbuck and failed rather miserably. I'm actually going to the keep the reworked stats because they do serve the purpose of matching the buck. Stantler being based off of a reindeer is a fair reason to give the Normal/Ice dual-typing, and allows Stantler to match Sawsbuck in another way, weather-based offense. Stantler is capable of offensive sets from both sides of the spectrum as Blizzard and Uproar provide a great STAB combo and Thunder being great coverage for special, while Present, Triple Axel, and Wild Charge/Close Combat provide the physical equivalents.

Pokémon: Cursola
Typing: Ghost/Rock
Stats (changes highlighted in bold)
: 70/80/75/145/130/30 (BST: 530)
Abilities (changes highlighted in bold)
: Weak Armor, Perish Body, Magic Guard
Moves:
Keep as is :/

Perish Body: No longer applies perish effect to itself

How this makes it more interesting
: Fun fact here kiddies, when hard corals die (like the one Corsola is) the hard exterior actually remains and just loses its color as more polyps die inside (that's called bleaching). Alright marine biology class is over and the moral of the story is this: Just because the Corsola "died" does NOT meant it becomes any less Rock-like, even the remaining body of Cursola is inside of a white shell, so were gonna keep partial Rock typing. Magic Guard as the third ability is another aspect of Corsola that is lingering, although that part is more flavor than part of the idea here. Cursola's gimmick itself is pretty neat, forcing uncomfortable switches with Perish Body and causing damage with its monstrous 145 base special attack. Unfortunately, vanilla Cursola can't take anything on the physical side and also can't punish the perish effect since it has to switch itself in order to not die. Fixing these two simple things puts Cursola right back into relevancy and revitalizes its gimmick into actual usability.

Pokemon: Grumpig
Typing: Psychic/Dark
Stats (changes highlighted in bold)
: 80 / 45 / 65 / 90 / 100 / 100 (480)
Abilities (changes highlighted in bold): Thick Fat/Own Tempo/Magic Bounce
Moves:
+Parting Shot, Dark Pulse, Knock Off
How this makes it more interesting: With great utility and parting shot, Grumpig is an interesting pivot. It can also stall break with Magic Bounce and Taunt.

All right, time for some real cancer (jk, inspiration running low this week, lol):

grumpig.gif

Typing: Psychic
Stats: 85 (+5) / 50 (+5) / 75 (+10) / 90 / 110 / 80 (BST: 500)
Abilities: Thick Fat / Own Tempo / Gluttony (honestly, nothing really fits... Competitive is too Gothitelle, Magic Guard doesn't fit, too many Psychic-types with Magic Bounce already)
Moves: Teleport, Nasty Plot, Belly Drum (lol), Synchronoise (CFM: 90BP; hits targets of the user's type super-effectively), Knock Off, Slack Off
Power Gem: (Grumpig only) having this move on its moveset raises its Sp. Attack by 20%
Teeter Dance: if this move successfully confuses a target, or the target already is confused: raises Speed by one stage
How this makes it more interesting: well, a lot of the things that one could give it are already done and done well by other Psychic-types, so I thought I'd expand what Grumpig does already, while giving it some new toys! Teleport for pivoting and Slack Off for recovery make it a much more compelling defensive choice. On the other hand, it now has much potent offensive options. Power Gem boosts its stats, fitting its Pokedex entry that bangs on about its pearls, and in the same way Teeter Dance also becomes useful! It can now boosts its speed with that, and set up with either its new toy in Belly Drum or with standard Calm Mind/Nasty Plot to make it an offensive threat!

Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for your submissions!
The time has come to vote on your favourites until Monday 28th September.

There were three ties last time, so we're going to try something a little different in order to prevent it. Instead of voting for a single submission per mon, we'd like to ask you to pick up to three, and rank them in order of preference like so:

Grumpig: User 1, User 2, User 3

My fault for not making it clear, but until now I didn't consider votes for a user's own submission. You can now vote for your own submission, but not in the first slot. And as always, feel free to make suggestions about improving your chosen submissions with either your own ideas or those of other submissions, and they will definitely be considered in the final result. If there is still a tie at the end, we'll ask you guys to tie-break instead of deciding it in the council.

Thanks again, and happy voting!

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a tie! JIggy0604 and holy_shiinotic have an equal number of votes for their Cursola submissions!

In order to break the tie, I will be extending the voting period by two days. Please vote for ONE of the submissions (and feel free to vote for yourselves as well):

Stats: 75(+25) /35(-60)/95(+45)/145/140/30 BST: 520
Abilities : Static(If you touch its ectoplasm, you'll be petrified)/Perish Body(If an attacking Pokemon makes contact, they will have a perish count of 5, but only the attacker.)/Weak Armor(hidden)
New moves: Recover, Taunt

Cursola's new statline allows it to function as the tank it was originally envisioned to be. With incredible 75/95/140 defenses, it can take more than a few hits. Its two new moves also increase its longevity. Kinda ironic for a piece of dead coral, don't you think?
i literally could not come up with anything else to write i'm sorry

All right, I don't think we'll have a slate this week. We've had slates constantly since inception and I think a bit of fatigue has set in :P Instead, who's up for a bit of spice? Maybe semi-formal tournament at some point?

I'm fully aware btw that CFM is an extremely developed meta and that the sheer number of changes is an obstacle to getting into it :P That said, who's had a chance to play much of it? What things have you liked? What have you not liked? And what suggestions might you guys have for making it better?

As mentioned last week, site development is in full swing! Should hopefully be ready very very soon. Apologies for the rather shabby site we've had up until now :P
