approved by G-luke
Welcome to Double Trouble, a double-based Pet Mod aims to explore any promising but underutilized elements from Doubles while buffing some Pokemon to better fit in Doubles. Double Trouble will only be using Pokemon that are in Pokemon Sword and Shield as the rooster. Furthermore, there will be some changes made to existing ability or moves to discourage cheese.

Submission rule:
  • Everyone can post up to 2 submissions except during the voting phase which lasts for 2-3 days.
  • Increasing Pokemon's BST is allowed, up to 600 BST.
  • Giving Pokemon moves and abilities they normally don't have is allowed, even if their abilities slot is full.
  • Changing their type will not be allowed.
  • Coming out with any new element that doesn't exist in the game will be ignored.

New Moves: (if any changes were made)
New Ability: (if any changes were made)
Overview:

And for those that aren't familiar with Doubles, but still want to participate, I recommend you to read this summary.
Protect is crucial. It's important to keep this move in mind.
Double prefer emergency recovery from Sitrus Berry over Leftovers due to its more faster-paced nature.
Speed control such as Tailwind and Trick Room strive here. Especially with the Gen 8 mechanic changes to speed now occurring on mid-turn.
Stalling isn't viable due to double-targeting, so don't keep that in mind.
Spread moves are common with the ability to hit multiple targets at once with 75% of its power. However, any spread move that targets the ally is mostly undesirable, as a result, Earthquake is only recommended on those that gain STAB from it.

:sm/delibird:
Pokemon: Delibird
Stats: 65 (+20) / 80 (+30) / 75 (+30) / 65 / 75 (+30) / 100 (+25) = 465 BST
New Moves: U-Turn, Drain Punch
New Ability: Vital Spirit / Hustle / Rattled
Overview: Delibird basically acts as a different kind of Braviary, being able to abuse Dynamax with Drain Punch and STAB Brave Bird in the same way Braviary does while also being able to set up Hail with Ice Punch or Ice Shard. Compared to Braviary, Delibird has higher Speed, slightly higher power due to Hustle, Ice STAB, and Fake Out, but worse bulk, a worse weakness to Rock Slide and is more prone to being Intimidated.
:sm/vanilluxe:
Pokemon: Vanilluxe
Stats: 71 / 95 / 85 / 120 (+10) / 95 / 99 (+20) = 565 BST
New Moves: Muddy Water
Overview: This thing's job is just to spam spread moves in Blizzard and Muddy Water, with it also being able to set up Aurora Veil on a free turn

:sm/vileplume:
Pokemon: Vileplume
Stats: 110 (+40) / 80 / 115 (+20) / 110 / 120 (+30) / 50 (BST 580)
New Moves: Calm Mind, Rage Powder, Spore
New Ability
: Chlorophyll, Prankster (HA: Effect Spore)
Overview: Meet Amoonguss 2.0! With boosted Defenses and HP, Rage Powder and Synthesis, this Pokemon is now the ultimate redirector! Able to tank hits reliably, this Pokemon can also function as a set-up sweeper with Calm Mind, while still able to dish out heavy hits unboosted. Access to Chlorophyll also makes it a premier option for sun teams with Solar Beam! In addition, it has a huge array of status moves to support its team with, from Aromatherapy to Toxic and Spore!
However, it’s not all bright and happy for this stinky flower: it’s low Speed, as well as a relatively large number of weaknesses, coupled with good yet not outstanding defenses, leaves it unable to take hits we’ll from strong or super-effective foes, limiting its use. Nevertheless, this Pokemon is an effective addition to the Doubles roster!

:salazzle:
Pokemon: Salazzle
Stats: 68/74 (+10) /80 (+20)/ 121 (+10)/ 90 (+30)/ 117 Overall: 550 (+70)
New Moves: U-turn, Snarl, Mystical Fire, Focus Blast, Grass Knot, Dark Pulse, Solar Beam
New Ability: Unnerve
Overview: Salazzle's main niche will be as a Fake Out user with a spread move. Thanks to her increased bulk and gaining U-turn, Salazzle can be more efficient at using Fake Out with Assault Vest being a viable option for her and could lower the opponent's Special Attack with Snarl or Mystical Fire. Her Unnerve ability can deny the use of Sitrus Berry and weakness berries as long as Salazzle's active on the field. Still, Salazzle's offensive coverage only receives a slight improvement, the biggest one being able to hit Dragapult, Indeedee, and Gothitelle super effective with Dark Pulse, and that's about it.

:drapion:
Pokemon: Drapion
Stats: 70/ 105 (+15)/ 115 (+5)/ 65 (+5)/ 90 (+15)/ 95 Overall: 540 (+40)
New Moves: U-turn, Sukcer Punch, Play Rough, Coil, Gunk Shot, First Impression, Stone Edge
New Ability: Tough Claws
Overview: For this one, I decided to focus more on the general-purpose instead of Doubles. Anyway, Drapion benefits from its newly gained Tough Claws as most of its attack is contact-based. Being currently the one of few available Knock Off users is also a plus as it can remove held and heavily dent Dusclops and Gothitelle. For coverage, Drapion can pick Stomping Tantrum or Play Rough to threaten Dracovish (If it can act faster than it, that is) and Hydreigon.

Pokemon: Cramorant
Stats: 75/100/60/95/60/110 (BST: 500)
New Moves: Body Slam, Hyper Voice, Helping Hand, Follow Me, Heal Pulse, Tackle
Removed Moves: Brave Bird
New Ability: Scrappy / Gulp Missile (Sheer Force)
Overview: Buffing up the choking bird into a monstrous support, with Roost and Heal Pulse, it also have Follow Me and Helping Hand! Removed Brave Bird not only to add a little balance to it, but forcing it to run drill peck, or don't run a flying type move at all. The special side is also viable, though not as good as the physical side.

Pokemon: Pyukumuku
Stats: 95/55/165/55/165/5 (BST: 540)
New Moves: Wide Guard, Water Gun, Tackle, Waterfall, Brine, Snatch, Snore, Night Shade, Healing Wish
New Ability: Innards Out / Prankster (Unaware)
New Typing: Water / Poison Forgot to read the rules oops
Overview: Gave this thing some potential for attacking, and buffing its bulk up to monstrous levels. Already a decent member for stalling, and now its no longer afraid of taunt. Moveset already have lots of support options, now there's even more moves to choose from?! Good luck with this team!

With Intimidate,Helping Hand,Fake Out, and Wide Guard Hitmoptop can support his team well take hits and get free turns and with his Technician set Hitmoptop can use a more powerful Fake Out as well as having a Technician boosted Mach Punch and Triple Kick But It is slow and it has minor 4 move slot syndrome

:Ninetales:
Pokemon: Ninetales
Stats: 73/76/85 (+10)/ 91 (+10)/ 120 (+20)/ 110 (+10) Overall: 555 (+50)
New Moves: Volt Switch, Aura Sphere, Moonblast, Shock Wave, Dazzling Gleam, Focus Blast, Healing Wish
Overview: Generation 8 was crazy when it comes to buffing older Pokemon's movepool, yet strangely enough, Ninetales is one of the exceptions. So I decided to reflect that by giving Ninetales wacky moves. Volt Switch enables Ninetales to easily switch another sun attacker out, Moonblast can threaten Dragapult while Aura Sphere does so to Tyranitar. As for Ninetales's buffed stats, it can now outspeed Keldeo and Terrakion (though it's only useful against the former since Sun lowers the power of Water-type) and can take special hits better.

:celebi:
Pokemon: Celebi
New Ability: Solar Power
Overview: Celebi isn't a noteworthy Pokemon in Doubles despite its impressive movepool. So I decided to give it Solar Power to take advantage of its good coverage and call it a day. Anyway, with Solar Power active, Celebi is able to heavily dent Melmetal and Tyranitar. Since I can't buff its stats at all, Celebi is forced to speed tie with Charizard.

by lolgod3

Pokémon: Meltan
Stats: 66/80/95/165/85/105
New Moves: Recover, Refresh, Calm Mind, Wide Guard, Heal Pulse, Rapid Spin, Ice Beam, Tri Attack, Life Dew, Autotomize, Iron Head, Rock Slide, Power Gem, Rage, Dragon Dance, Follow Me (Meltan's Original moveset sucked)
New Abilities: Adaptability / Magnet Pull / (Huge Power)
Overview: Changed from garbage to monster.

Pokémon: Mawile

New Moves: Trick Room, Life Dew, Follow Me (Event Exclusive, Only with steelworker)
New Ability: Huge Power (Event Exclusive, incompatible with Follow Me), Steelworker (Also event exclusive but comes with follow me)
Overview: Return to its Previous fame as mega mawile, this is a good sweeper and follow me user and assists meltan and other steel types

By Pokemon Guy

Pokemon:Toxicroak
Stats:83/121(+15)/75(+10)/86/75(+10)/110(+25)/550(+60)
New Moves:Close Combat,Thunder Punch
Overview:A Fake Out Fighting type sounds overdone but Toxicroak has has a nice with it's Poison Typing with Stab Gunk Shot for Clef and Sucker Punch for faster ghost types

By HeatEdgeSword
:noivern:
Pokemon: Noivern
Stats: 85/70/80/107 (+10)/ 80/ 123 Overall: 545 (+30)
New Moves: Tri-Attack, Fire Blast, Mystical Fire, Icy Wind
New Ability: Aerilate
Overview: With Aerilate, Noivern can either utilize Choice Specs or Throat Spray for extra firepower with its boosted Hyper Voice (don't use Boomburst, it targets an ally and therefore wonky). Additionally, Noivern gets Tri-Attack as its single target Flying-type attack, and Fire Blast for threatening Steel-types such as Corviknight and Melmetal. With its fantastic speed, Noivern will be a fearsome offensive threat.

Pokemon: Weezing-Galar
Stats: 75 (+10)/90/120/85/85 (+15)/60 (515 BST)
New Moves: Recover, Follow Me
New Ability: N/A
Overview: Weezing-Galar gets some additional bulk and the means to use it properly, with a recovery move much more reliable than Pain Split and the option to act as a Follow Me user to allow its teammates to do as they please.

:alcremie:
Pokemon: Alcremie
Stats: 70 (+10) / 60 / 90 (+15) / 125 (+15) / 120 (-1) / 40 (-24) (BST: 515)
New Moves: Reflect (Light Screen but no Reflect? Blasphemy!), Moonblast, Wish, Will-O-Wisp
New Ability: Natural Cure
Overview: Stat redistributions, allowing it to function either as a nice wall, or a Special Attacker with Punch. As a supporter, it can also give Wish support or set up dual screens. It is versatile, but unfortunately rather slow. It’s mediocre stats means that while it still packs a punch specially, they aren’t really making her go anywhere, besides Trick Room teams... again.

:ninetales-alola:
Pokemon: Alolan Ninetales
Stats: 75 (+2) / 45 (-22) / 80 (+5) / 120 (+39) / 80 (-20) / 120 (+11) (BST: 520)
New moves: Hyper Voice, Energy Ball, Earth Power
New Ability: Refrigerate, Pixilate
Overview: Blistering Special Attack and Speed compensates for glassy defenders and poor Attack to allow her to function as a powerful Hail Attacker, with perfect Blizzards, incredible coverage in Energy Ball, Hex, Psyshock and Earth Power, and a blistering Speed Stat that allows her to outspeed the crowded 100s. With high Speed, good Attacks and brilliant stats, what could go wrong? Just don’t send her in to a Steel-type, they can and will massacre you.

By HeatEdgeSword

:gallade:
Pokemon: Gallade
Stats: 68/125/65/65/115/110 (+30) Overall: 548 (+30)
New Moves: Parting Shot, Mach Punch, Sacred Sword, Meteor Mash
New Ability: Mirror Armor, Shield Dust
Overview: Gallade was very underwhelming, so I decided to boost its speed to be faster than Keldeo and Terrakion. Parting Shot enables Gallade to switch out as well as support its teammate by lowering its opponent's offensive stats with Mach Punch acting as a priority move to pick up weakened foe, something that Terrakion and Keldeo lack. Sacred Sword and Meteor Mash were added purely for flavor. Mirror Armor reflects Intimidate drop and something like Glaciate's speed drop to its foe, eliminating any worry of its crucial stats being reduced unless it's self-inflicted. Shield Dust prevents being flinched from Fake Out and Burn from Scald, which can otherwise be crippling for Gallade.

:orbeetle:
Pokemon: Orbeetle
Stats: 70 (+10)/ 45/ 120 (+10)/ 100 (+20)/ 130 (+10)/ 90 Overall: 555 (+50)
New Moves: Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Wide Guard, Pollen Puff
New Ability: Friend Guard
Overview: With its newly gained Friend Guard and increased bulk, Orbeetle can either function as a support mon with Recover for itself to stay longer for Friend Guard or Pollen Puff to recover its partner with the added benefit of punishing redirection or a Calm Mind attacker. However, its biggest drawback is its weaknesses all being common even with Wide Guard able to block Rock Slide, so having teammates that can take care well of them is definitely needed for it to function well.

by かたわれ時
:Goodra:
Pokemon: Goodra
Stats: 110 (+20) / 60 (-40) / 70 / 150 (+40) / 150 / 60 (-20) (BST: 600)
New ability: Thick Fat
New moves: Heat Wave, Wish, Calm Mind, Nasty Plot
Overview: Boosted Special Attack now makes Goodra ridiculously scary, with powerful Special spread moves in Heat Wave, Muddy Water and Sludge Wave dealing large amounts of damage to a majority of the metagame. Gooey discourages Physical attackers, while Special Attackers are forced to deal with its ridiculous Special bulk, higher HP, and Thick Fat removing one potential weakness. In addition, Sludge Wave and Dragon Pulse effectively removes any weaknesses. It’s great bulk is now also complemented by a far larger range of status moves, allowing it to WishPass, set up with Substitute, and Toxic other Pokemon. The only middling factor is its middle-range Speed, letting it outspeed nothing and making it unable to abuse Gooey.

The next one is so powerful after stat boosts that we don’t even need additional moves!
:drampa:
Pokemon: Drampa
Stats: 100 (+22) / 50 (-15) / 90 (+5) / 155 (+20) / 100 (+9) / 25 (-11) (BST: 515)
New ability: Inner Focus
Overview: Drampa has a ridiculously huge Special movepool, like Goodra. This time however, what differentiates it from Goodra is its low Speed, lower Special Defense and higher Defense. Inner Focus also grants it immunity to Fake Out, and providing a sense of uncertainty over whether its Inner Focus or Berserk they’ll have to deal with. All in all, this Pokemon is nearly impossible to kill, especially with proper weather support (Inner Focus replaces Cloud Nine btw), with its only weakness being its medium bulk, if that can even be a weakness at all.

By かたわれ時

:Keldeo:
Pokemon: Keldeo
New moves: Fake Out, Calm Mind
Stats: 90 (-1) / 75 (+3) / 80 (-10) / 135 (+6) / 80 (-10) / 120 (+12) (BST: 580)
Overview: It seems a bit odd how Keldeo is only DUU. Muddy Water should deliver high damage, while Fake Out should give it at least some niche. And then there’s still Calm Mind. I gave it what I thought would make it stronger while still keeping it within a reasonable BST.

:blastoise:
Pokemon: Blastoise
Stats: 90 (+11) / 60 (-23) / 125 (+25) / 65 (-20) / 125 (+20) / 75 (-3) (BST: 530)
New moves: Thunder Wave
New ability: Prankster
Overview: You can almost imagine a mischievous, heavily armored turtle. No? Just me? Oh well. This stat spread makes Blastoise even better for its supporting role in Doubles, allowing it to sponge hits with its signature Follow Me set, while also allowing it prioritized Toxics and Thunder Waves.

By lolgod3
Pokémon: Marowak-Alola
Stats: 75/85/115/50/90/40
New Moves: Body Press
New Ability: Analytic
Overview: Trading 5 Speed for slightly more bulk. Also gains Analytic. With decent support this pokemon is amazing.

Pokémon: Araquanid
Stats: 68/80/92/80/132/42
New Moves: Trick Room, Helping Hand, Coaching, Defog, Flip Turn
Overview: With more support moves, Araquanid can be an amazing support pokémon.

Pokémon: Dhelmise
Stats: 80/151/113/66/90/50
New Moves: Trick Room
Overview: 151 Attack hits like a truck.

:Snorlax:
Pokemon: Snorlax
Stats: 160/110/65/65/110/30 (Unchanged)
New ability: Poison Heal
Overview: You want something that competes with Chancy? Here's something that competes with Chancy. This gives an alternative to it's standard BerryDrum set, that is designed for longevity, and might fit on teams without TR. Being able to passively heal so much while also threatening the other team with STAB Facade is pretty good.

:Obstagoon:
Pokemon: Obstagoon
Stats: 95/105/105/60/85/95
New moves: Fake Out, Extreme Speed
Overview: Obstagoon bullied his little brother from Hoenn and stole his favorite event move. Now he can overcome his less-than-stellar speed tier without any support in order to pick off weak foes. Also, Fake Out gives Guts sets something to do other than Obstruct on their first turn out.

By かたわれ時
:vikavolt:
Pokemon: Vikavolt
New move: Power Gem
New ability: Electric Surge
Overview: Vikavolt’s stats just seem fine. Plop it onto a Trick Room team and it will do wonders. Electric Surge is mainly for Rising Voltage; and to create a better setter than Pincurchin! Vikavolt should be much more viable now. Also remind me to go create a Trick Room user one day?

:exeggutor:
Pokemon: Exeggutor
Stats: 95 / 75 (-20) / 95 (+10) / 125 / 95 (+20) / 45 (-10) (BST: 530)
New moves: Focus Blast, Thunder, Surf
New ability: Drought
Overview: Designed to be a slow, bulky attacker, this thing is also self-sufficient and can set Trick Room, be a Trick Room abuser itself, or fit onto sun teams as a Drought abuser with Chlorophyll, Harvest and/or Solar Beam. With a diverse set of moves, Exeggutor can fit on many teams and fulfill many roles. However, a crippling weakness to Bug-types leave it weak to powerful Pokemon like Centiskorch.

:exeggutor-alola:
Pokemon: Exeggutor-Alola
Stats: 95 / 125 (+20) / 95 (+10) / 75 (-50) / 95 (+20) / 45 (BST: 530)
New moves: Close Combat, Zap Cannon, Earthquake
New ability: Grassy Surge
Overview: Same idea as above, but physical and with Grassy Terrain instead. Can also abuse sun with Harvest due to its bulk, while it works well in Trick Room teams due to its low speed. Setting Grassy Terrain helps it with Grassy Glide as well as allies, whose Grass-type attacks would be boosted too. However, like it’s Kantonian counterpart, it too suffers a crippling weakness to Fairy-types. It also is extremely weak to common Ice-type moves and priority, although this is mitigated by Close Combat somewhat.

:clefable: Slate 1: Redirectors :butterfree:

Redirection moves such as Follow Me and Rage Powder are one of the best supporting move in Doubles, being able to give momentum for its partner to set up. Currently, Female Indeedee is one of the best redirectors available with her being a great partner to Hatterene that gives Hatterene a better chance of setting up Trick Room with her combination of Follow Me and Psychic Surge that blocks priority moves such as Fake Out. However, it is hampered down by its limited distribution, especially with Pokemon such as Amonguss not making into the cut. it is. All submissions are required to add Follow Me or Rage Powder on Pokemon that don't have it or buff Pokemon that do have any of these moves.

The submission slate will last for 10 days.

Pokemon
: Runerigus
Stats: 68/95/145/95/105/30 [518 BST] (+10 HP, +45 SpA)
New Moves: Follow Me, Shadow Sneak, Power Gem, Pain Split, Gravity
New Ability: N/A
Overview: Runerigus can use Follow Me not only to protect an ally, but also to swap abilities with opposing attackers thanks to Wandering Spirit. Add this to its good bulk and ability to set up Trick Room and spread burns, among other things, and it has a strong niche as a utility/support mon. Boost to SpA was given to allow it to make potential use of it's wider Special movepool, and boosting moves.

Pokemon: Shedinja
Stats: 1/110/45/30/30/40 [256 BST] (+20 Atk)
New Moves: Rage Powder, Lunge, Earthquake, Stomping Tantrum
New Ability: N/A
Overview: The Ultimate Gimmick Pokemon has found its best and most threatening gimmick yet with Rage Powder. Being Immune to direct damage from 13 or the 18 elemental types in the game is a massive boon for a move redirector, meaning it can protect its ally from targeting without necessarily taking hits itself. In addition, it's high attack and access to several priority moves means that it can pick off weak opponents before they can do the same to it.
Unfortunately for Shedinja, the 5 types it dies to are all really good attacking types, and 4 of them have spread moves that break through its Wonder Guard, (Heat Wave, Rock Slide, Brutal Swing and Air Cutter). Despite the massive situational upsides, the fact that it is as vulnerable as ever to passive damage, as well as Ability Negaters such as Barraskewda and Excadrill, prevents it from being a truly oppressive force in this meta, as many teams will still be able to kill it through Sash in 1 turn.

Pokemon:Arcanine
Stats:95/110/110(+30)/100/95(+15)/95/600
New Moves:Follow Me,Recover,Heal Bell
Overview:Intimidate+Follow Me+Will-O-Wisp Means Arcanine can function as a Follow Me user with it's great bulk
But It's weak Common types Like Ground,Rock and Water

:clefable:
Pokemon: Clefable
Stats: 95/70/88 (+15)/ 105 (+10)/ 105 (+10)/ 60 Overall: 518 (+35)
New Moves: Taunt, Crafty Shield, Misty Terrain
Overview: While Clefable does have some fantastic options, Togekiss tends to be better due to its superior bulk, so I decided to increase Clefable stats to be nearly equal terms with it as well as improving its redirection role. With Dynamax roaming around, I believe Clefable is good at checking some variants like Max Knuckle with Unaware. Alternatively, Clefable could go for Magic Guard and not worry about the already minimal burn damage from Scald or Will-o-Wisp that it redirects.

Pokemon: Eldegoss
Stats: 70 (+10)/ 50/ 90/ 110 (+30)/ 120/ 70 (+10) Overall: 510 (+50)
New Moves: Rage Powder, Parting Shot, Dark Pulse, Sludge Bomb, Whirlwind
New Ability: Sweet Veil
Overview: Its special attack receives the biggest boost to make Leaf Storm hit harder as Eldegoss only need to fire it off one time before continuing its redirecting business or use Parting Shot. Speaking of Parting Shot, it blends well with Regenerator and could force Hatterene to switch out with Parting Shot on Magic Bounce and prevent Hatterene from setting Trick Room up. Its newly gained Sweet Veil helps against the G-max move that could induce sleep such as Grimmsnarl and Butterfree. Eldegoss gets Dark Pulse and Sludge Bomb because Indeedee and Hatterene are annoying, though Eldegoss does have to keep 4MSS in mind. Whirlwind enables Eldegoss to force Kommo-o to switch out as it has Soundproof that blocks Roar.

Alright, time to move on to the voting phase which will last for 3 days. EDIT: extended from 2 to 3 days due to the lack of votes.

My vote will be Pokemon guy. I do not like the idea of Shedinja having Rage Powder since it will be overcentralizing, just because it has checks doesn't mean it's going to balanced if its benefits heavily outweigh its flaws, there's a difference between using Tyranitar and forced to use Tyranitar. But that's on me, I should have checked that more carefully.

With no other votes, Pokemon guy's submission wins the phase.

:weavile:Slate 2: Ice-types :mamoswine:

To celebrate Chrismas, I decided to focus on Ice-type, a fantastic offensive type that happens to be the worst defensive type, with a majority of them being slow walls. While Gen 8 did bring us Galarian Darmantian that shows off what an Ice-type powerhouse is capable of, the rest was mediocre that's plagued with some noticeable problems. The submission phase will last for 7 days.

Pokemon forbade for submission:
Darmantian Galar
Eiscue
Lapras
Arctozolt
Arctovish

To not double post, I shall post my submission here.
important moves will be italic.

:Frosmoth:
Pokemon: Frosmoth
Stats: 70/65/70 (+10)/125/100 (+10)/ 90 (+25) Overall: 520 (+45)
New Moves: Freeze-Dry, Moonblast, Haze, Whirlwind
New Ability: No Guard
Overview: Frosmoth goes from being unusable from being slow to being difficult but awesome. With Rock Slide back to being common again, using Frosmoth can be tricky, but once it gets around it, it's a behemoth to behold. Freeze-Dry allows Frosmoth to check Water-types easily and Moonblast can come in handy by setting Misty Terrain through Dynamax. No Guard enables Frosmoth to use Blizzard, Hurricane and Stun Spore without fear of missing, with Blizzard having the added benefit of hitting multiple foes. Its access to Quiver Dance can potentially make its Blizzard or Ice Beam scarier, and it can further boost its speed with Max Airstream. Frosmoth could also act as Tailwind setter with Shield Dust negating the flinch from Fake Out that also able to threaten Braviary. Its flaw is that Frosmoth is still unable to do much to Fire- and Steel-type in return unless you're that crazy enough to run Weather Ball in rain and sun (respectively).

:Mr. Rime:
Pokemon: Mr. Rime
Stats: 80/85/75/110/100/100 (+30) Overall: 550 (+30)

Overview: With its new Friend Guard ability, Mr. Rime can capitalize it with Fake Out gaining its partner some momentum to work around as well as reducing damage done to its ally. Of course, it is balanced off by being an Ice-type, meaning it can't last on the field for too long. Mr. Rime boosted speed also allow it to outspeed Pokemon such as Braviary and Rotom Wash.

Pokemon: Abomasnow
Stats: 100 (+10) / 92 / 75 / 102 (+10) / 85 / 80 (+20) | Overall BST: 534 (+40)
New Moves: Freeze-Dry
New Ability: Sheer Force
Overview: Abomasnow has sometimes been a popular doubles Pokemon in the past, generally due to its excellent performance against Dragon-types or rain (it was especially popular in VGC10 for its effectiveness against Kyogre). However, in SS it finds itself vulnerable to many meta Pokemon (Excadrill, Tyranitar, list goes on and on) and its once strong Blizzards are now outpaced by other move options and Dynamax. To make matters worse, it lost its slower/more powerful mega, removing its minor niche use as a good spread move spammer in Trick Room. There's not much reason to use Abomasnow over other rain counters like Gastrodon or Lapras, and something like Darmanitan-G makes for a stronger Ice attacker. Hail setting without the ability to abuse veil well is also not terribly valuable, so despite being one of two Snow Warning setters it finds no niche there either.

To remedy its lack of a niche, Abomasnow's stats have been modified to make it more effective at its unique potential- reliably spamming Blizzard without being bothered much by bulky Water types. 80 Speed allows it to more reliably go before threats such as Tyranitar, Corviknight, and Dracovish. With a Timid Scarf, it can safely out speed just about everything not also running Scarf, including the prevalent Dragapult. Its mediocre 92 Special Attack is bolstered to a more respectable 102, and 100 HP means it can more plausibly tank its many 2x weaknesses. Abomasnow's movepool has always been one of its stronger points (especially since it got Earth Power this gen), but Freeze-Dry is added just in case Rain teams specifically are what you want to eradicate. In case you want to avoid setting Hail for some reason (or want to try and justify Hail existing as a team archetype) Sheer Force is now a third ability option. This provides Abomasnow with an exceptionally strong Ice Beam, Energy Ball, Earth Power, Focus Blast, and Shadow Ball. Blizzard is no longer a reliable move on its own, but becomes an insanely strong spread move option if a partner can set Hail for Sheer Force Abomasnow.

Pokemon: Beartic
Stats: 95 / 140 (+10) / 80 / 70 / 80 / 70 (+20) | Overall BST: 535 (+30)
New Moves: Aurora Veil, Close Combat, Ice Shard
Overview: On paper, it might seem like Beartic would have a prominent role in SS doubles due to being the only available Slush Rush user. Of course, this would assume Hail has an inherit useful benefit for its type like Rain, Sun, or Sand... which it doesn't. Since we can't change that, Beartic needs a few extra boosts to see any use as a weather abuser.

70 base speed and Ice Shard make it so that Beartic isn't helpless outside of Hail, 70 speed being especially helpful to outrun the main problem for maintaining Hail, Tyranitar. Close Combat means said Godzilla can be eliminated without sacrificing Attack for Superpower, and is also helpful for Ferrothorn. A +10 increase to 140 Attack may seem minor, but puts Beartic above Excadrill (135) making it more appealing as a weather abuser and also easier to lean on one STAB. Arguably the most important attribute Beartic has gained, however, is Aurora Veil. In hail, Slush Rush Beartic is by far the fastest Aurora Veil setter, and if the opponent lacks their own weather-setting ability it will be very easy to set. With decent natural bulk, Beartic should also be able to get off an attack after without having to run Focus Sash.

Guess the winner of this slate is Yoshiblaze then. Moving on to the next slate.

:gengar: Slate 3: Poison-type :toxtricity:

Poison-types are famous for their solid defensive capability and Max Move bosting Special Attack. However, they do suffer from having bad offensive coverage, and most of the Pokemon aren't too outstanding. So far, Toxtricity is decent for its niche of being able to hit multiple foes with Overdrive, but there is still some room for improvement.

No Pokemon is forbidden for this slate.

Edit: oh yes sorry forgot about that. Thanks for reminding me HeatEdgeSword !

Notable moves in italic
