Character Name: Dewy
Role: Defensive Pivot
Type: Water/Fairy
Stats: 95/83/105/93/80/85 (Total: 541)
Abilities: Water Absorb/Air Lock
Full Movepool: Acid Armor, Air Slash, Aqua Jet, Aqua Ring, Baby-Doll Eyes, Blizzard, Body Slam, Charge, Chilling Water, Confide, Dazzling Gleam, Defog, Discharge, Earth Power, Earthquake, Electric Terrain, Endure, Facade, Flip Turn, Grassy Terrain, Haze, Heat Wave, Helping Hand, Hurricane, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Ice Shard, Ice Spinner, Icy Wind, Life Dew, Liquidation, Magnet Rise, Magnitude, Mist, Misty Terrain, Morning Sun, Natural Gift, Play Rough, Powder Snow, Protect, Purify, Rain Dance, Recover, Rest, Return, Round, Scald, Secret Power, Sing, Sleep Talk, Snore, Snowscape, Strange Steam, Substitute, Sunny Day, Surf, Swagger, Tailwind, Take Down, Tera Blast, Terrain Pulse, Thunder, Thunder Wave, Thunderbolt, Toxic, Triple Axel, Volt Switch, Water Pulse, Water Sport, Weather Ball, Whirlwind
Weight: 0.2 lbs
Overview/Justification: We still need a decent physically defensive mon, so I’m resubbing Dewy. With Flip Turn or Volt Switch, Dewy can use his bulk and typing to take hits for his allies before pivoting out to maintain momentum. Additional tools such as Scald, Haze and Thunder Wave all serve to aid Dewy’s disruption potential.

Character Name: Specter Knight
Role: Physically Offensive Pivot
Type: Ghost/Dark
Abilities: Cursed Body/Intimidate
Stats: 75/115/85/75/90/105 (Total: 545)
Signature Move: Judgment Rush
- Type: Ghost
- Classification: Physical
- Power: 95
- Accuracy: --
- PP: 15 (max 24)
- Effects: Always hits, slicing.
Full Movepool: Shadow Claw, Shadow Bone, Shadow Sneak, Phantom Force, Shadow Ball, Night Shade, Knock Off, Night Slash, Throat Chop, Sucker Punch, Brutal Swing, Dark Pulse, Bonemerang, Drain Punch, Acrobatics, Aerial Ace, Air Slash, Mystical Fire, Psycho Cut, Smart Strike, Mirror Coat, U-Turn, Slash, Destiny Bond, Grudge, Taunt, Torment, Spikes, Will-o-Wisp, Teleport, Rest, Detect, Protect, Substitute, Pain Split, Sleep Talk, Helping Hand, Scary Face
Weight: 185 lbs (just a guess for now)
Overview/Justification: To add onto things, we have Specter Knight. Though he is a physical pivot with a strong physical Ghost STAB option in Judgment Rush, he has some respectable utility, with access to Spikes, Will-o-Wisp, STAB Knock Off, and of course U-Turn. He can swap into a variety of attacks thanks to his typing and Intimidate, hopefully making him solid at gaining traction.

Rose_Hunter_Idle_Sprite.png

Amidst the fog of the viney forest, the clop of a horse is heard. It's a giant horse made of vines. Mounted on it was a being with the head of a rose. The vine horse stands before me and lets our heavy breaths that reek of green grass. "I am on the hunt for someone. It needs to be taken care of urgently. What I am looking for is an apple that will become a princess, not knowing its rightful place."
Character Name: Rose Hunter
Origin: Limbus Company
Type: Grass/Fighting
Abilities: Long Reach / Grass Pelt
Stats: 90/100/70/55/90/120 [525]
Signature Move: Barbed Lasso
- Type: Grass
- Classification: Physical
- Power: 70
- Accuracy: 100%
- PP: 15-24
- Effects: 100% chance to inflict -1 Defense
Full Moveset: Power Whip, U-Turn, Close Combat, Leaf Blade, Knock Off, High Horsepower, Spikes, Rapid Spin, Protect, Substitute, Tera Blast, Take Down, Endure, Giga Impact, Facade, Pounce, Outrage, Petal Blizzard, Trailblaze, Snap Trap, Bind, Block, Slam, Vine Whip, Solar Blade, Brick Break, Brutal Swing, Thief, Petal Dance, Grass Knot, Grassy Terrain, Grassy Glide, Rock Smash
Weight: 200kg (vine horse moment; height would be around 3m)
Flavor Justification: The Grass typing is obvious, and Fighting is (loosely) based on the use of weaponry and its determination to retrieve the apple in its mirror dungeon event. Its attacks in-battle revolve around the use of its lasso/whip, be it to strike targets or to restrain them, and can summon brambles to aid in in the latter. Protect through Facade is universal stuff (Rest and Sleep Talk are missing because of its drive to catch the aforementioned apple), and the reason behind its signature move is its specialty in Rupture, a status that activates to apply bonus damage to the bearer when hit. The apple it seeks tries to get your help in hiding from it in its mirror dungeon, but you can choose to let it swipe that apple away, hence Knock Off. While Rose Hunter is bulky in the main story, it's a lot less difficult to tear through in mirror dungeons and the attacks the Sinners could get based on it benefit if the user and target combined both have sufficient speed. The Abnormality is HE-class, which is moderate among Abnormality risk levels (which tend to correlate with how powerful they are), so it has 525 BST.
Overview: Fast pivot that can switch in on Waters, though the Grass typing isn't ideal when it comes to the walls we already have.

Aoi Asahina
Queen Fyora
Between Aoi’s access to Population Bomb and her signature ability making Aqua Jet into a free priority pivoting option, it pushes her to being overtuned. The council has suggested removing/reworking the ability. Queen Fyora is extremely potent with Regenerator and her current stat spread. Reducing her stats is recommended. Also, the signature move she has is maybe doing a bit much, according to council.

Name: Millia Rage
Name: Jet Pack Guy
Name: Lae'zel
Millia has Dark -Ate Rapid Spin; we already have three Rapid Spin Pokemon, we do not need another even more potent spinner. Remove Rapid Spin. Jet Pack Guy’s stats are a bit too overtuned for Stakeout, so either remove Stakeout or make him weaker. Lae’zel has a somewhat ineffective defensive typing, and her Attack is a bit high for her stated role, so adding to her Defense and lowering her Attack just a bit would be good.

Pokémon: Engineer
Please be more specific when listing move effects; “Like Aqua Ring but stronger” does not tell us how much it heals per turn. Also, I would recommend adding a few more Psychic moves to him, like Zen Headbutt, for starters.

While on the topic of recommendations, the council has brought forward that both Mad Milk and Dispenser are not competitively viable in their current states; while I am fine with unviable customs myself, perhaps consider improving them or reworking them, within reason.

Character Name: Primrose
Primrose has 3 other signature moves, Peacock Strut, Mole Dance, and Panther Dance. They function exactly like Lion Dance, but instead of raising Attack, these moves sharply raise Sp. Atk, Defense, and Speed respectively. All four are dance moves (they trigger the Dancer ability).
For starters, both Primrose’s stated signature move and her Z-Move are overpowered. Passing stat boosts of any kind to other Pokemon is provably overpowered, so by definition this submission is not valid without significant reworking.

Also, the passage seen below the character name here is an example of something that is absolutely unacceptable. Giving a character four signature moves is already above the established limit of two custom elements (Mega Forms and Z-Moves nonwithstanding), and these “additional” moves aren’t presented in the manner a signature move should be presented, instead being stated to function “as Lion Dance”, which is itself already broken. If you are going to include a signature move, please always format it correctly, even if it’s a near exact clone of an existing option.

Character Name: Sparkle
In the same vein as Primrose, her signature move is maybe a bit strong. Reworking it or removing it is advised.

Character Name: Reginn
The signature move is maybe just a bit much on the first turn out; a base power reduction, probably to at least 80, would make it much easier to handle.

Pokémon: The Puppet
We had some discussion about Scathach and her Z-Move, but we determined that she’s probably alright due to the reliance on her item slot. Puppet’s signature move, however, could make things tough to future-proof, as giving Wish healing while also adding Ghost to something down the line could prove nasty. It’s hard to say how would be best to fix this issue, though.

Battle Tentacles is a very strong effect, especially on something with pivoting options, Knock Off, and Octolock. Perhaps consider replacing or reworking that ability, maybe with Rocky Payload (things in SAP throw rocks for the chip damage effects, right?)

Character Name: Rose Hunter
As before, the signature ability is very potent with those stats, and the signature move isn’t formatted correctly. A different ability effect (an Iron Barbs clone, maybe) and a fixed move format are recommended.

Character Name: Coach
This is a bit undertuned, actually. You should pump up his offensive stats a bit, probably Speed.

And that’s it for now! This should generally be comprehensive, but if anything arises, there may be some small edits. If you’re having trouble with adjustments, or if you’d like to make an adjustment to a non-vetoed submission during this phase, please contact the council so we can provide feedback and approval.

To those with vetoed submissions, you’ll have three days to address the stated issues. After this, we’ll move to the voting phase, which will also be lasting for three days this time.

OK, I've made mine!

This voting phase will work slightly differently to how it worked in the previous slate. Because we have three distinct variations of the roles that we made this time, each of these variants will be placed into its own voting block. Each block will have exactly one winner. You must seperate your sets of votes. Also, the amount of votes you can cast for is to be three for each individual set, with your self-vote still required to be your lowest vote. You can still only self vote once throughout all of your votes, through all categories (so if you vote your own defensive pivot, you cannot do so for either of the other categories). The most voted submission in each category will be considered the winner.

The council also wants me to mention that Primrose’s Z-Move is still potentially a bit much, so Primrose will be allowed into the voting, but the Z-Move may see revisions or a ban.

With that, here are the valid submission subsets:

Orangesodapop’s Beheaded

Physical:

V1
Specter Knight
Octopus

Special:

Antlion
Dragonfolly
Decarabia

Defensive:

Tenri
Sparkle
Suwako (sv)

V1 - Adding a physically threatening steel-type prevents Hina's mortal spin from being too free, esp since it doesnt fear Knock too badly either (can be caught by blitz tho), plus the typing is just very fun for a speed controller.
Specter Knight - Intim ghost also helps with the spinblocking situation, although I prefer the V1 design since knock off spam is annoying.
Octopus - This one just seems fun although i'm dubious of Octolock being healthy so 3rd place.

Antlion - Spatk ground is really good rn and sets rocks with actual reliability which is important given how good removal is.
Dragonfolly - this one just seems fun to use and able to run a lot of cool tech movesets.
Decarabia - seems like good speed control and the typing is good for checking potentially strong future subs like good ghosts or steels.

Tenri - Rock setter, Steel/Flying, fun sig
Sparkle - prank encore
Suwako - selfvote - chose Suwako over Sans because I think she's more interesting and I don't like the other defensive subs as much as the spatk subs.

My vote's main focus is on characters that aren't that well known to increase diversity: Hopefully, my entries will get votes this time!

Wallbreakers
With walls and pivots in the metagame, we can get into the hard hitters. Wallbreakers are best defined as the members of a metagame that can deal the most damage. Their role is usually such that they can win against the walls, forcing defensive teams to play carefully. Wallbreakers, however, are often momentum sinks, requiring time or good positioning to properly take a chunk out of an opposing team. Additionally, while some wallbreakers serve as setup sweepers that run through whole teams, fast attackers will usually check them offensively, and there may be a wall or so that a wallbreaker is not equipped to take on. Overall, wallbreakers should still remain balanced within the standards of the metagame, please once again consider the existing winners in making your wallbreakers.

We'll be returning to the previous voting system for this slate, but we will likely be revising the multiple category system for future slates, thanks to feedback from the Discord. So keep that in mind as we go forward!

"Well, off to visit your mother!"
Pokémon: Spy
Weight: 56 kg (looked up how much 110 pounds was in un-American, then added a few to the result)
Franchise/Origin: Team Fortress 2
Type: Dark
Abilities: Illusion, Infiltrator (HA)

Moves: Night Slash, Foul Play, Sucker Punch, Backstab, Bullet Punch, Trailblaze, Icicle Crash, Ice Shard, Shadow Claw, Knock Off, Fake Out, Parting Shot, Spite, Torment, Taunt, Conversion 2, U-Turn, Discharge, Thunder Wave, Electro-Sapper, Attract, Captivate, Confide, Double Team, Endure, Facade, Frustration, Helping Hand, Hidden Power, Natural Gift, Protect, Rest, Return, Round, Secret Power, Sleep Talk, Snore, Substitute, Swagger, Take Down, Tera Blast, Toxic, Pursuit, Phantom Force, Follow Me,

Signature move 1: Backstab (75 BP, Dark, Physical, 100% accuracy, 24 PP, guaranteed critical hit if user moves before the target) (Contact)
Signature move 2: Electro-Sapper (Electric, Status, 90% accuracy, 16 PP, applies damage over time and traps the target, akin to Magma Storm, target gets -1 Spe (has doubled damage against Electric and Steel types (akin to Salt Cure)))
Stats: 75/110/80/75/73/107 (520 BST)

Explaination:
The new (modified) Backstab intends to more accurately represent how it works in TF2 by granting a critical hit as opposed to a simple damage buff. Plus, it allows Spy to break walls reliant on defensive boosts, fitting his literal sole niche in Mann versus Machine, which involves maximizing the Armor Penetration upgrade to quickly destroy giant robots. This also gives him similar wallbreaking potential to mons such as Meowscarada, trading Protean mindgames for Illusion mindgames.

I did it! It all went according to plan! I got the sun and moon to fight. I got you to go into space... it was all according to my perfect little plan! Now I can cause all the mischief I want! Haha! See you later!
Pokémon: Marx
Origin: Kirby
Intended Tier: UU (Mega: OU)
Typing: Dark/Fairy
Abilities: Prankster / Magician / Technician
Moves: Dark Pulse, Night Daze, Pursuit, Foul Play, Nasty Plot, Taunt, Moonblast, Play Rough, Arrow Arrow, Black Hole, Shadow Ball, Ice Beam, Seed Bomb, Power Whip, Sludge Bomb, Pyro Ball, Focus Blast, Aura Sphere | Brutal Swing, Power Trip, Torment, Spirit Break, Dazzling Gleam, Hyper Beam, Fly, Air Cutter, Ice Ball, Icicle Spear, Phantom Force, Barrage, Air Cutter, Double-Edge, Teleport, Universal moves
Signature Move 1: Black Hole (Special, Ghost-type, 120 BP, 100% Acc., 8 PP, Lowers the user's Defense and Special Defense by 1 stage, Targets both opponents)
Signature Move 2: Arrow Arrow (Physical, Normal-type, 25 BP, 100% Acc. 32 PP, Type matches the user's primary typing, Hits 2-5 times)
Stats: 75/86/56/96/66/96 [475]

1737952908452.png

He absorbed a nova's power to bring back his evil soul... This really is the last battle!
Mega Stone Name: Nova Essence
Mega Typing: Dark/Fairy
Mega Ability: Prankster
Mega Stats: 75/116/81/116/81/106 [575]

Flavor Reasoning: Typing is a reference to him being a manipulative little jester, as well as being a Magician (also explains the thematic ability, duh). Stats have the theme of 6s to go with his devilish antics, as well as 96 in reference to 1996, the release year of Kirby Super Star. Prankster as he had manipulated the sun and moon to fight each other and managed to get the upper hand on getting a wish, and Technician as I thought it be thematic for a guy who fights with ball bombs in Star Allies. Moves also reference his boss battle attacks, including his Soul fights
Shooter Cutter: Air Cutter
Ice Ball: Ice Ball, Ice Beam
Marx Cannon: Hyper Beam, Ice Beam,
Seed Attack: Seed Bomb, Power Whip
Shadow Uppercut: Phantom Force, Fly
Splash Marx: Sludge Bomb, Barrage
Deadly Ball: Pyro Ball (cause it looks like comets), Focus Blast, Aura Sphere
Competitive Niche: Thought it be time to introduce a Mega Evolution to the mix. While blessed with decent coverage and powerful STABs in Arrow Arrow, Dark Pulse, and Fleur Cannon, as well as access to Nasty Plot for extra power, he has relatively poor stats for an OU mon, but that's where his mega comes in. Now he has the power needed to break through the walls in the tier. He does have weak defenses, however, and while Prankster is a good ability, Hina blocks your Taunts

“The German name of the hero in the epic poem of the Nibelungenlied. The dragon Fafnir's blood made him invincible, but a single leaf on his back resulted in a weak spot.”
Franchise/Origin: Persona 3
Character Name: Sigfried
Type: Fairy / Fighting
Abilities: Super Luck / Sturdy
Stats: 100/120/110/40/80/70
Full Moveset: Vorpal Blade, Swords Dance, Psycho Cut, Sacred Sword, Moonlight, Focus Energy, Superpower, Iron Defense, Strength, Stone Edge, Earthquake, Bulk Up, Dazzling Gleam, Poison Jab

Leer, Double Edge, Take Down, Slash, Rest, Sleep Talk, Snore, Confide, Facade, Tackle, Giga Impact, Hyper Beam, Fairy Wind, Night Slash, Cut, Smart Strike, Endure, Reversal, Counter, Reflect

Vorpal Blade: Fairy Physical 5/8 pp, 110bp 90 accuracy high crit slicing contact spread move
Weight: 172 Kg
Flavor Reasoning: it’s sigfried time. Fairy makes perfect sense as sigfried is notably a dragonslayer, and fighting as he is a fighter
Overview/Justification: true to sigfrieds use in persona 3, designed to break via critical hits

An open wound, a drop of blood. A thrilling hunt, a grand feast. A fragile life, a moment of satisfaction.
Franchise/Origin: Zenless Zone Zero
Character Name: Ellen Joe
Type: Ice
Abilities: Long Reach / Strong Jaw
Stats: 117/135/59/65/59/77
Full Moveset: Sharknami, Flip Turn, Wave Crash, Close Combat, Slack Off, Icicle Spear, Breaking Swipe, Swords Dance, Ice Shard, Taunt, Encore, Aqua Tail, Crunch, Spikes, Aqua Jet, Surf, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Freeze Dry, Dragon Tail, Super Fang, Iron Tail, Outrage, Iron Head, Icicle Crash, Thunder Fang, Poison Fang

Protect, Substitute, Double Edge, Take Down, Confide, Facade, Snore, Rest, Ice Fang, Bite, Decorate, Giga Impact, Hyper Beam, Icy Wind, Brine, Water Gun, Tail Swipe, Leer, Slam, Powder Snow, Avalanche, Snowscape, Aurora Veil, Frost Breath

Type: Ice
Category: Physical
BP: 85
PP: 10/16
Tags: Slicing, Contact, Multi Target
Effect: 100% chance to lower the opponents defense by one stage. lowers the users defense by one stage after use.
Reasoning: Fitting a glacemon reference by adding physical swarming albeit at at weaker power due to ice being a way superior offensive typing. Couldn’t make it scythe limbs bc that wouldn’t fit a breaker role as readily.
Z-Move Effect: By holding an Elium Z, allows Ellen Joe to use Endless Winter.
Type: Ice
Category: Physical
BP: 190 (lore accurate would be 189)
PP: 1
Tags: Slicing
Effect: N/A
Weight: idk like 80 Kg? I’m bad at weights when they are not given
Flavor Reasoning: shark
Overview/Justification: ice is notably only a good offensive typing, and to limit the 135 attack stat that I was practically forced into due to lore accuracy. Overall is a powerful breaker that struggles defensively but has a monstrous offense, but still would falter into bulkier waters
