Flame of the Fell God |
|
| PP: 1 | BP: 100 | Accuracy: - | Bullet | Requires Firegiantium Z | Hits twice if the user's HP is less than 47%. Sets a Sea of Fire on the target's side.
Reasoning:
  • fire giant gets engulfed with flames and stuff hence flame body
  • movepool based on attacks ingame
  • custom is based off one of its atks where it launches two projectiles if it is in phase 2 (activated at 47% hp)
Competitive Reasoning: physical tank who can deal v good damage at lowish health.

Franchise/Origin: Arknights
Intended Tier: OU
Type:

Ability: Water Absorb / Moist Skin (This Pokemon takes 0.75x from special attacks, and raises its Special Attack by 1 when doing so.)

Thermal Mode |
|
| PP: 10 | BP: 110 | Accuracy: 100 | Hits adjacent opponents. Lowers the user's Speed by 1.
Reasoning:
  • asbestos is a fire salamander who is really toxic; coincidentally her name is also a fire insulator who is really toxic
  • thermal mode increases attack interval but raises attack and deals arts damage
  • moist skin increases arts resistance and charges sp when hit by an arts attack
Competitive Reasoning: fat wall or weird tank.

Centipede Assault |
|
| PP: 10 | BP: 100 | Accuracy: 100 | Contact | Uses user's Spe stat as Atk in damage calculation.
Luciola Cruciata (requires Wrigglium Z) |
|
| PP: 1 | BP: 180 | Contact | Uses user's Spe stat as Atk in damage calculation.
Reasoning:
  • wriggle nightbug is a bug and her ultra festival form uses fire-type attacks
  • her trait nullifies paralysis and blindness and one of her traits raises yin atk when attacked
  • centipede assault and luciola cruciata (last word) have additional scaling based on agility hence the effect
Competitive Reasoning: very fast offensive pivot locked by double rocks weakness.

Long Test of Courage (requires Fujiwarium Z and Disguised Machine Peddler) |
|
| PP: 1 | BP: 180 | Heals 100% of the user's HP.
Reasoning:
  • fujiwara no mokou is a fire manipulator and a human before drinking immortal elixir
  • her trait increases damage to effective elements and has a characteristic of being immune to fire
  • one spell card has the moon element and heals barrier status while the last word has fire and fully heals the user

Signature Z-Move / G-Max Move:
Stats: 75 / 115 / 70 / 115 / 70 / 125 {BST: 570}
Reasoning:
  • V1 is a war machine with a massive arsenal of weaponry and abilities, allowing you to customize your playstyle in any way
  • Insane in-game mobility options, explaining his Speed stat
  • Acts as an offensive pivot and possible HO lead with hazards, Mold Breaker and Taunt

Reasoning:
  • Fire-attribute Yokai
  • Levitates in the air and in game has an ability that negates other abilities (YKW2)
  • Should act as a powerful Fire-type attacker with Nasty Plot, Fire Blast, etc. or Stallbreaker with Taunt, Infernal Parade, and Pain Split

Congratulations to anaconja, flareth13 and xinos for winning with Wriggle Nightbug-A, Masked Man and Jack Frost. flareth13 and xinos have both earned the title, Mesal Gear Solid.

If you're living in a northern-hemisphere country that uses western temperate seasons, it is now summer! This bonus theme is for any character that looks as if they are dressed and ready to spend some time in the sun. They may be wearing typical clothes for hot weather (eg. Urbosa), participate in summer-related activities such as surfing (eg. Funky Kong), or have a seasonal outfit for the beach (eg. Mario in Odyssey).

Submissions will be open for one week.

Have Fun!

"Hello, Doctor. I'm Rafaela, the one Miss Ch'en introduced, and I'll be formally joining Rhodes Island today. Huh, a code name? Hmm... let's go with La Pluma then."
Franchise/Origin: Arknights
Intended Tier: OU
Type:

Ability: In the Groove (When this Pokemon attacks and KOes another Pokemon, its Speed is raised by 1.) / Reaper (This Pokemon’s slicing moves heal it for 1/10 max HP.)
Stats: 100 / 100 / 80 / 60 / 80 / 110 | 530 BST

Rapid Slashing |
|
| PP: 10 | BP: 50 | Accuracy: 100 | Slicing, Contact | Hits twice.
Reasoning:
  • steel for the blade, flying for the liberi race
  • into the groove boosts attack spe on each kill
  • reaper is a trait that heals 50 hp each hit
  • rapid slashing is her s1 that has higher attack and hits twice
Competitive Reasoning: another steel not weak to fighting, similarly more offensive and takes advantage of reaper to stallbreak

Water Planet |
|
| PP: 1 | BP: 150 | Accuracy: - | Requires Hecatium Z and Fruit Splitter | 100% chance of lowering the target's Def and SpD by 1.
Reasoning:
  • hecatia uses water and earth elements
  • jelly desert queen has a chance of healing hp each turn
  • life soup recovers 1/10 hp upon hitting a target
  • water planet debuffs yin and yang def
Competitive Reasoning: more offensive swampert with added longevity thanks to ability. sets rocks and pivots out.

Pokemon: Mario
Type: Normal/Fire
Abilities: Limber/Adaptability
Stats: 83/110/85/105/81/101 (Total: 565)
Moves: Body Slam, Double Edge, Stomp, Mega Punch, Mega Kick, Facade, Rapid Spin, Tera Blast, Snore, Fire Punch, Fire Blast, Heat Crash, Fire Spin, Ember, Flame Burst, High Jump Kick, Jump Kick, Brick Break, Body Press, Circle Throw, Superpower, Hammer Arm, Sky Uppercut, Rock Smash, Acrobatics, Bounce, Wood Hammer, Heavy Slam, Hydro Pump, Chilling Water, Water Pulse, Water Gun, Work Up, Rest, Sleep Talk, Yawn, Helping Hand, Defense Curl, Celebrate, Soak, Gen 1 and onward Universal Moves (not Toxic)
Overview: I wanted to provide my take on Mushroom Kingdom's famous plumber. Mario by design is an everyman, certainly an extraordinary one, but Normal fits him well due to his rather ordinary traits. Fire, on the other hand, is the element most associated with him, with his Fire Flower powerup being one of the most ubiquitous of the bunch, and many other games (such as Smash Bros and various sports titles) depict him with natural pyrotechnics. Mario is well known for his acrobatic techniques, which justifies Limber, while Adaptability is due to his powerups and many spinoff titles giving him great variety in his abilities. His stats are in general decently balanced, since he's known for being an all-rounder, though his mixed offensive bias fits his appearance in his 2D platforming games and his RPGs. His defensive stats here line up with the release dates of his first three game appearances, Donkey Kong (81), Mario Bros (83), and Super Mario Bros (85). Stomping on enemy heads, ground pounds, hammers, punching, kicking, breaking bricks, and general strength justify most of Mario's movepool. Rapid Spin is from Mario Galaxy as well as various platformers where Mario can Spin Jump. Circle Throw is the iconic Bowser toss from Mario 64, Water moves are from Mario Sunshine, Yawn references Mario's tendency to fall asleep if left idle for long enough, and Defense Curl references Mario crouching to become a smaller target.

ToadBrigade has already handily justified why Mario can receive the bonus for this slate.

Abilities: Unbroken Gallop (HA: Speed Boost)
Signature ability - Unbroken Gallop - Prevents others from lowering the user's Speed stat stages.
Other Moves:

: Steel Wing, Metal Burst, Fly, Wing Attack, Aerial Ace, Acrobatics, Sky Drop, Dual Wingbeat, U-turn, Pursuit, Knock Off, Sucker Punch, Counter, Seismic Toss, Reversal, Revenge, Superpower, Body Press, High Horsepower, Ice Shard, Icicle Crash, Double-Edge, Quick Attack, Strength, Extreme Speed, Endeavor, Retaliate, Rock Slide, Rock Blast, Rock Tomb, Waterfall, Aqua Jet, Liquidation

Stats: 101/111/40/111/40/125 (BST: 528)

Reasoning: Steel/Flying-type due to being a Bioroid, a type of android/robot; fitted with jet propulsions and having the Flying type within Last Origin itself, creating a redundant yet justified Flying typing under Pokémon mechanics. Unbroken Gallop as her primary Ability is sourced from one of her passives within her own source material, where she constantly removes any of her Speed debuffs whenever she attacks. This results in her being unable to have her Speed stat debuffed similarly by moves such as Scary Face and she would restore her Speed back to normal after the next move she'd pull off anyways. Unbroken Gallop might be a Hyper Cutter/Keen Eye clone, but it might be slightly powerful than the rest of its ilk due to how essential the Speed stat is in competitive battling. Speed Boost as her Hidden Ability also supports her Speed stat bias and also covers her other passives in Last Origin due to their effects. Her stats are calculated from Last Origin itself at level 100. This results in her very fragile Defense and Special Defense. Her stats are similar to Pheromosa and some of Deoxys' forms due to high mixed attacking stats and Speed but has a slight advantage over them with her 101 base HP stat, 30 higher than Pheromosa's. Her moveset consist of a lot of beam attacks due to her ability to wield a beam weapon herself, named a Prototype Beam Machine Gun in Last Origin itself, and Flamethrower as unique coverage due to her jet propulsion, something that Celesteela is also bestowed with. Due to the presence of alternate costumes for her, her idol costume grants her usage of various sound-based moves, most notably Hyper Voice, and Spotlight. Being able to have a swimsuit costume grants her a good amount of Water-type moves as coverage (with useful priority in Aqua Jet too), including Bubble Beam, which overlaps with her beam firing capabilities.

Pokémon: Carnelian

Abilities: Sand Guardian
Signature ability - Sand Guardian - The user’s Defense and Sp. Def stats are raised by 1 stage at the end of the turn as long as the user has not used a damaging move during the previous turn.
Other Moves:
4-move-physical.png
: Earthquake, Sand Tomb, Bulldoze, High Horsepower, Rock Slide, Rock Throw, Rock Tomb, Stone Edge, Cut, Horn Attack, Quick Attack, Rage, Slash, Thrash, Feint, Rock Climb, Low Kick, Revenge, Superpower, Low Sweep, Sacred Sword, Aerial Ace, Fury Cutter, Megahorn, Flare Blitz, Flame Charge, Liquidation, Aqua Cutter, Psycho Cut, Icicle Spear, Avalanche, Ice Shard, Outrage, Dual Chop, Pursuit, Night Slash, Payback, Foul Play, Brutal Swing, Power Trip

Stats: 92/105/68/105/95/55 (BST: 520)

Reasoning: Primary Ground-type due to being born in the arid sands of Sargon and secondary Rock-type due to being named after a gemstone, used in Ancient Egypt to adorn scarabs which results in Megahorn and Fury Cutter as Bug moves that she can use. The former alludes to the threat of Carnelian using her horns to attack the player (Doctor) if tapped often in the main menu of her source material, which also has ties to Horn Attack. Her only and signature ability is Sand Guardian in respects to her behaving like Aegislash with Stance Change as in her source material she will not attack unless she uses a skill to do so, which drops off her defensive bonuses as an ability here, in similar respect to how if Aegislash attempts to use a damaging move, it must switch to Blade Forme if it is required to use a damaging move, which drops its defensive stats immensely. Carnelian wields a sword but does not use it in missions in Arknights itself, and the sword skills she has potentially can give her a respectable set of moves related to swords and slicing (Sacred Sword, Night Slash, Psycho Cut), and mostly use her Originium Arts skills instead to damage enemies with blasts of sand. She has an alternate costume, Hohenlohe Chillysand, set in a winter-like climate flanked by ungulate ice sculptures, thus an unusual repertoire of Ice-type coverage moves, synergizing with the Ground-type as well as it does with Rock-type moves. The Elite 2 ram/goat/etc. in the background is assumed to be made of obsidian or another type of igneous rock and shows a sign of heat mapping with a red tinge where higher heat concentration could be, thus Fire-type coverage; the Elite 2 promotion attributes results in her base stats (minus Trust bonuses).

Theme Slate Reasoning: Taking another page out of anaconja's book, here Carnelian is depicted in her alternate summer swimsuit costume, a part of the Coral Coast alternate skin sets, like how Mario gets himself some swimming trunks in Super Mario Odyssey. This is also additionally the reason why she has Water-type coverage despite being 4x weak to the type. Yep, she has Rhyperior-tier coverage. No wonder she has the same type as it.

Stats: 82/80/51/133/110/38 (BST: 494)

Reasoning:
she's diet chi-yu
Primary-Fire type due to her Originium Arts using the manipulation of fire; she's also a renowned pyromaniac with a pseudo-flamethrower like how the guns of Sanktas (like Exusiai's vector, based on a real-life submachine gun) working in Arknights' setting of Terra. Her secondary type is Dark due to implied Sarkaz heritage, though ends up with some Dragon-type moves as well due to her slight modelling (as being an artificially made human-like being) after Saria and other Vouivres. Her Fire/Dark type is also shared with Houndoom, which is also renowned for having the ability to inflict very scary burns and has Sp. Atk as its highest base stat, which is also true for Ifrit via her Elite 2 promotion stats (minus Trust bonuses). Her primary ability is Solar Power, meant to represent both her ability to give her foes RES decreases (thus her Special moves hit harder) and the gradual HP loss that is seen in both Solar Power and her Skill 3 in Arknights, Scorched Earth, when both are active. Houndoom and Charizard also have Solar Power in one way or another, the latter of the two realmons often being an indirect inspiration of her characteristics via one of Ifrit's nicknames being Charizard's base form, Charmander. Her Hidden Ability, Soul Dissolution is a shortened version of the title of Ifrit's initial Trait, Spiritual Dissolution, which decreases enemy RES, akin to how the effect works here as her hidden and signature ability. Her movepool includes some unique choices: some Fairy-type moves due to her illustrator, NoriZC, actually having drawn illustrations of alternate depictions of their trio of Rhine Lab Operators as Pokémon, in which the line based on Ifrit itself eventually becomes a dual Fire/Fairy-type, Curse due to her sailor mouth, and the move Scorching Sands as a nod for the existence of a summer costume (w/ swimsuit) that is available for Ifrit in the game she comes from. Scorching Sands, in similar fashion to the widely-maligned Scald, has a 30% chance to burn and burning things (both literally and figuratively in terms of both Arknights and Pokémon) is usually the name of Ifrit's game. Her base stats are calculated straight from her Elite 2 promotion max level attributes (minus Trust Bonuses), meaning she has similar nuclear Sp. Atk output like Chi-Yu who has the same exact typing as her. Unlike Chi-Yu, which had the Speed stat that was good enough to have it booted out of even National Dex OU’s superpowered power creep (compared to Gen 7 OU which was actually slightly more tame), Ifrit’s Chi-Yu-tier special prowess is balanced out by her base 38 Speed, which, in the strictest speed standards possible, is legitimately awful.

Code:
Ifrit (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Soul Dissolution
Tera Type: Dark / Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 8 Def / 248 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast / Flamethrower
- Dark Pulse
- Dazzling Gleam / Shadow Ball
- Nasty Plot
Code:

- Will-O-Wisp / Toxic
Code:

Theme Slate Reasoning: Similar reasoning as to why Carnelian is also here w/ slate bonus elligibility. She has quite the unorthodox summer swimsuit design, and her skin shows her having a summer BBQ. The skin is named Sunburn SS SP, a sunburn is a common skin ailment often seen with beach-goers.

Pokémon: Luigi
Franchise/Origin: Luigi’s Mansion
Intended Tier: OU, maybe UU
Type: Normal/Ghost
Ability: Rattled/Run Away/Wimp Out (HA)
Notable moves:
Physical: Endeavor, Facade, Fake Out, Frustration, Quick Attack, Shadow Sneak, Poltergeist, Spirit Shackle,
Special: Strobe Light, Hyper Voice, Shadow Ball, Hex, Flamethrower, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Hurricane, Vacuum Wave, Dark Pulse, Dazzling Gleam
Status: Substitute, Curse, Will-o-Wisp, Thunder Wave, Rest, Sleep Talk, Taunt

Signature move: Strobe Light | 100 dg | 90 acc | 10 pp | Special | Normal | Deals super effective damage to Ghost types. 20% chance to flinch.
Stats: 67/79/73/89/83/137

Reasoning: Luigi goes on vacation, which is a normal summer thing.
Normal because he is just a dude, and ghost due to his connection to ghosts in his games. Abilities all reference his fearful nature. Stats make him a fast, frail, special attacker, similar to how he is quick to help… or quick to run away. Stats are also prime numbers (like the ultra beasts) to show his paranormal line of work. Attacks all reference the abilities of the poltergust.

Pokémon: Toon Link
Franchise/Origin: Legend of Zelda, Wind Waker
Intended Tier: OU
Type: Fairy
Ability: Wind Rider/Sharpness/Justified (HA)
Notable moves:
Physical: Sea Breeze Boomerang, Play Rough, Spirit Break, Waterfall, Acrobatics, Anchor Shot, Sacred Sword, Close Combat, Leaf Blade, Gigaton Hammer, Spirit Shackle, Flip Turn
Special: Moonblast, Surf, Air Slash, Hurricane, Secret Sword,
Status: Light Screen, Reflect, Agility, Magic Coat, Taunt, Trick, Defog, Whirlwind, Tailwind, Protect, Kings Shield
Signature move: Sea Breeze Boomerang | 65 dg | 95 acc | 10 pp | Physical | Fairy | Hits twice. Both hits have a chance to miss.
Stats: 80/110/70/60/95/105

Reasoning: He goes to the beach, and has a summer outfit.
Type is due to his magical nature and elf like appearance. Sharpness and Justified because he is a heroic swordsman, and wind rider because he goes on a boat and is hero of winds. Moves are based on in game attacks combined with attacks that seem to fit him. He can serve as a fast-ish physical attacker, offensive pivot, or maybe even a specially defensive support mon with screens.

Pokémon: Matt
Franchise/Origin: Wii Sports
Intended Tier: OU
Typing: Normal/Fighting
Ability: Sports Champion / Receiver
Sports Champion - This Pokemon's punch and slicing-based moves have their power multiplied by 1.3. This Pokemon takes halved damage frompunch and slicing-based moves. [Punk Rock clone for punch and slicing]
Moves: Physical: Speed Slice, Drain Punch, Mach Punch, Close Combat, Dynamic Punch, Focus Punch, Sucker Punch, Shadow Punch, Slash, Sacred Sword, Psycho Cut, X-Scissor, Knock Off, Night Slash, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Present, Play Rough, Hold Back, False Swipe, Feint
Special: Air Slash, Hyper Voice, Vacuum Wave
Status: Swords Dance, Court Change, Mat Block, Instruct, Celebrate, Play Nice
Signature Move: Speed Slice - Normal | 50 BP | 10 PP | 100% Accuracy | +1 Priority, slicing-based
Stats: 90/120/60/40/50/120 (480)
Reasoning: Matt is both a boxing and swordplay champion. However, in other sports, he's one of the worst Miis, that's why he's minmaxed and Normal-type. His Speed is high because he's also the Speed Slice champion. Matt also plays different sports such as tennis, basketball and baseball, thus getting Court Change and Receiver. He also acts as a teacher, referee and coach. Present and Celebrate come from his Wii Party appearance.
Competitive Reasoning: E-Killer Arceus has a baby with Iron Valiant. Unlike Arceus, he is very frail, so getting a Swords Dance up is hard.

Pokémon: Ishtar
Franchise/Origin: Fate/Grand Order
Intended Tier: OU
Typing: Rock/Electric
Ability: Levitate / Dazzling / Long Reach
Moves: Power Gem, Meteor Beam, Stone Edge, Rock Wrecker, Earth Power, Volt Switch, Eruption, Flash Cannon, Dazzling Gleam, Stored Power, Rock Polish, Nasty Plot, Cosmic Power, Fly, Sky Attack, Teleport, Trop Kick, Snipe Shot, Charge Beam, Earthquake, Stealth Rock, Rapid Spin, Fire Spin, Swift, Magical Torque, Spin Out, Combat Torque, Thunder Punch, Double Team, Wild Charge, Dynamic Punch, Decorate, U-Turn, Flip Turn, Raging Bull, Arrow Shot
Custom Move & Z-Move:
Arrow ShotRockPhysical8015100%Identical to Snipe Shot excluding typing and category.
Mountain Range-Shaking Firewood of VenusRockSpecial1901-Increases user's SpA by 1. User must know Meteor Beam and be holding Maannanium-Z to use this Z-Move. Displays the same message as Meteor Beam.
Stats: 75/65/75/135/95/105 (550)
Reasoning: Ishtar is the Mesopotamian goddess of beauty, fertility, and war. Her attacks are centered around gem magecraft and the Bull of Heaven, so I went with Rock-type and Electric-type for her. Her Z-Move is based on her Noble Phantasm in which she uses the power of Venus to destroy things (in-universe it's based on her destroying a mountain), and Meteor Beam gathers power from space so that fits also. Raging Bull being part of her movepool is a reference to how she can summon a divine bull.

Pokémon: Agent 8
Franchise/Origin: Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion
Type: Poison/Psychic
Intended Tier: OU
Ability: Inky Surge / Inner Focus / Analytic
Notable moves: Amnesia, Calm Mind, Teleport, Stored Power, Psybeam, Expanding Force, Miracle Eye, Focus Blast, Octazooka, Self-Destruct, Explosion, Rollout, Rest, Role Play, Synchronoise, Magic Room, Trick Room, Trick Room, Psychic Terrain, Zen Headbutt, Memento, Tidy Up, Snipe Shot, Gunk Shot, Heal Pulse, Mirror Shot, Terrain Pulse, Sludge Bomb, Poison Gas, Corrosive Gas, Clear Smog, Smog, Smokescreen, Poison Jab, Acid Armor, Acid Spray, Baneful Bunker, Venom Drench, Venoshock, Steel Roller, Steamroller, Lock-On, Laser Focus, Defense Curl
Signature Ability: Inky Surge - Sets Inky Terrain. [Clone of Surge abilities.]
Signature Move: Inky Terrain (- BP | Poison | -% Accuracy | For 5 turns, the power of Poison-type attacks used by grounded Pokemon is increased by x1.3, and grounded Pokemon have their Speed multiplied by x0.67, unless they are a Poison type, or have the Liquid Ooze Ability, or have the Heavy-Duty Boots Item.) [clone of other Terrains]
Stats: 80/80/80/108/80/108 (536)
Reasoning:
  • Agent 8's Poison-type comes from their ink-based body. Psychic-type is more out of left field, but it comes from them being amnesiac, their ability to physically collect memories, their characteristic of imagining things a lot, and the game's focus on their inner self.
  • Inky Surge reflects Agent 8's ability to create ink-based environments in their original game, that boost the power of Poison-type moves while slowing down opponents on the terrain.
  • Agent 8's movepool includes a mix of Psychic-type moves that reflect their psychic abilities, Poison-type moves that reflect their ink-based attacks, and coverage moves that reflect their weapons and sub-weapons.

When I think summer, I think beaches, and when I think beaches, I, of course, think of Sand.

Pokémon: Inaros
Franchise/Origin: Warframe
Intended Tier: Intended for OU, but probably better in UU because of the typing.
Type: Rock/Ground
Ability: Sand Stream, Sand Force, Rocky Payload
Notable moves: Desiccation, Stealth Rock, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Sandstorm, Power Gem, Ancient Power, Earthquake, Sandsear Storm, Scorching Sands, Stomping Tantrum, Swords Dance, Calm Mind, Strength Sap, Shore Up, Attack Order, Infestation, Gen 9 Universals, Leech Life, Sand Tomb, Sand Attack
Signature move: Desiccation (65 BP | 90% Acc | Rock | Physical | Applies Seeding Status (as in Leech Seed) to the opponent.
Stats: 150/100/90/90/50/60 (BST= 540)
Reasoning: He's a Warframe based primarily in sand with an incredible HP stat (at the expense of having no shields, but I wasn't sure how to translate that into Pokemon stats so I gave him a bad Sp. Def stat to reference that). Unfortunately, that means I pretty much had to do the Rock/Ground typing, with its many flaws. Desscication is based on his first ability, where he throws sand that can sap the HP of the opponent. Attack Order and Infestation represent his Scarab Swarm ability.

Pokémon: Isabelle
Franchise/Origin: Animal Crossing
Intended Tier: UU
Type: Normal
Ability: Cute Charm, Fluffy, Fur Coat
Notable moves: Double-Edge, Headbutt, Fake Out, Hyper Voice, Quick Attack, Play Rough, Power Whip, Smart Strike, Circle Throw, U-Turn, Chilling Water, Work Up, Calm Mind, Agility, Gen 9 Universals, Bullet Seed, Heal Pulse, Life Dew, Celebrate, Happy Hour, Play Nice, Baby-Doll Eyes, Vital Throw
Signature move:
Stats:
70/95/65/95/70/105 (BST 500)

Reasoning: New Horizons takes place on an island and that's reason enough. Some of the more out there moves (Power Whip and Smart Strike) are references to her moveset in smash (Whip being the Fishing Rod and Smart Strike standing in for her Up Smash).

Veins of the world… sing!
Pokémon: Matka
Franchise/Origin: V Rising
Intended Tier: OU
Type:

Stats: 77 / 79 / 81 / 133 / 119 / 41 [530 BST]
Abilities: Curse Weaver
Custom Ability: Curse Weaver - Own offensive stat is multiplied by 1.5 while using a Ghost-type attack. Using Curse activates the Ghost-type effect instead of the Non-Ghost effect.
Moves: Acid, Clear Smog, Gunk Shot, Poison Gas, Poison Jab, Sludge, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Smog, Toxic, Aromatic Mist, Fairy Wind, Misty Explosion, Misty Terrain, Strange Steam, Confuse Ray, Curse, Grudge, Hex, Night Shade, Phantom Force, Shadow Ball, Spite, Attack Order, Confusion, Eerie Spell, Magic Coat, Magic Room, Psychic Terrain, Trick Room, Wonder Room, Simple Beam, Nasty Plot, Forest’s Curse
*B = Potentially Notable Moves
Justification: Matka the Curse Weaver is among the final stretch of bosses within V Rising, residing within the Cursed Forest. While not explicitly dressed for summer, per se, Matka is closely associated with Mosquitoes, insects primarily active during the summer. During her boss battle she summons swarms of these Mosquitoes, and defeating her unlocks a spell that allows you to summon explosive Mosquitoes. (Ignore this part I misread the prompt)
For Matka’s typing, Poison makes the most sense, given her several acid-based attacks. Given Matka’s magical & mystical properties, I opted to also give her the Fairy typing.
Given Matka’s title as the Curse Weaver, performing hexes and curses, I felt it appropriate to give her Ghost typing, however she lacks any real “Ghost-like” properties physically, so I instead adapted this into her ability, Curse Weaver, giving her only the offensive properties of a Ghost type.
As for moves, she would naturally get Poison/Fairy/Ghost attacks, however her Mosquito summons also justify her getting Attack Order, and she can also get the Rooms from her ability to manipulate the battlefield, temporarily turning the player into a pig and the likes. (Which is kinda the justification for Simple Beam as well) Matka’s Fairy attacks are also rather limited, given her flavor goes on the weird magic and misty (from the Curse of the Forest effect) side of the fairy type, rather than the any associations with beauty or the moon. (Giving Strange Steam over Dazzling Gleam of Moonblast)
Competitive Role: Trick Room Setter & Abuser, utilizing it’s Fairy STAB and boost to Ghost attacks to be a potent breaker while under TR.

"I want you to have the best vacation ever!"
Pokémon: Vacation Bot
Franchise/Origin: Vacation Simulator
Intended Tier: OU
Type: Steel
Ability: Levitate / Terraforming* / Appraisal**
*Upon switching in, the user sets a terrain based on SpA and SpD IVs: Grassy if both are even, Electric if only SpD is even, Psychic if only SpA is even, and Misty if both are odd.
**Upon switching in, if the user is holding a Heat Rock, then it summons sun and has Fire added to its typing (à la Forest's Curse). Damp Rock, rain and Water. Smooth Rock, sand and Rock. Icy Rock, snow and Ice.
Notable moves: Iron Head, Body Press, Wild Charge, U-turn, Flash Cannon, Discharge, Volt Switch, Psychic, Signal Beam, Tera Blast, Nature Power, Terrain Pulse, Weather Ball, Slack Off, Teleport, Tidy Up, Yawn, Thunder Wave, Toxic
Other moves: Sunny Day, Rain Dance, Sandstorm, Snowscape, Grassy Terrain, Electric Terrain, Misty Terrain, Psychic Terrain, Magnet Rise, Tar Shot, Mimic, Follow Me, Helping Hand
Stats: 70/80/110/100/70/70 | 500 BST
Vacation Bot.png

Reasoning: The theme of Vacation Simulator is that robots have contributed to the creation of an environment dubbed "a rough approximation of 'not jobbing'". (This is the basis behind Appraisal and Mimic.) Vacation Bot is the figurehead of this environment, so this submission is in a similar vein to minimalistic Super Smash Bros. characters like Mr. Game & Watch and Pac-Man. His species of robot is a floating head with invisible arms, electric-powered but totally waterproof, and known to consume fluids such as oil that are not fit for consumption by humans or animals. He himself serves as a tour guide, which is the reason for Follow Me, Helping Hand, and pivoting moves. Worth noting that Efficiency Bot, the de facto vice tour guide, proves capable of changing the environment on the player, during the denouement of the "story."
The Vacation Simulator consists of three environments: a beach (hence the slate bonus), a forest (containing a geyser), and a snowy mountain. Objects dropped on the ground do not linger forever, so it stands to reason that somebody has to Tidy Up.

"For the Divine Dragon!"
Pokémon: Framme
Franchise/Origin: Fire Emblem: Engage
Intended Tier: OU
Type: Fighting/Normal
Ability: Scrappy
Custom move: Shielding Art - Fighting, Physical, 80 BP, 100% Acc, 15 PP | With the same priority as the Focus Punch charge message, when this move is selected, it displays the message: "[Pokémon] has equipped its Shielding Art scroll!" From then until the end of the turn, the user's Defense stat gets a 1.25* boost. Meanwhile, the move itself is executed at 0 priority.
Notable moves: Close Combat, High Jump Kick, Axe Kick, Mach Punch, Mega Kick, Quick Attack, Fake Out, Zen Headbutt, Throat Chop, Bullet Punch, Play Rough, Focus Blast, Aura Sphere, Vacuum Wave, Tera Blast, Dazzling Gleam, Flash Cannon, Recover, Wish, Aromatherapy, Teleport, Block, Whirlwind
Other moves: Cross Chop, Double Kick, Triple Kick, Rolling Kick, Karate Chop, Mega Punch, Double Hit, Comet Punch, Pound, Life Dew, Heal Pulse, Refresh, Ally Switch, Flash
Stats: 82/80/70/100/100/110 | 542 BST
Framme.png

Reasoning: Starting off as a martial monk, Framme is an art-wielding infantry unit, hence Fighting/Normal. She gets Scrappy because arts are capable of hitting Emblems, which are pretty much ghosts. Speaking of arts, they are the basis of her attacking moves, with special moves representing the possibility of a Hadouken-like animation when Alear lands a critical hit. (Also, Scrollcake translates to Fairy coverage due to being sweets-based like Slurpuff.) Status moves are based on staves, the other kind of equipment accessible to martial monks and the like. (Throat Chop is a cross between the two, a sort of martial maneuver with an effect similar to that of the Silence staff. Same goes for Fake Out and the Fracture staff.) Base stats = growth rates * 1.5 (HP) or 2 (other), as in the Gen 7 Fates reps

"Now then. Hello everybody!"
Pokémon: Hortensia
Franchise/Origin: Fire Emblem: Engage
Intended Tier: UU
Type: Flying/Fairy
Ability: Cute Charm / Queenly Majesty
Custom move: Nova Tome - Psychic, Special, 65 BP, 80% Acc, 10 PP | Hits twice.
Notable moves: Hurricane, Dazzling Gleam, Fire Blast, Aura Sphere, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch, Will-O-Wisp, Thunder Wave, Roost, Wish, Aromatherapy, Teleport, Block, Whirlwind, Defog
Other moves: Air Slash, Gust, Flamethrower, Ember, Thunder, Thunder Shock, Recover, Life Dew, Heal Pulse, Refresh, Ally Switch, Flash
Stats: 60/40/50/70/160/120 | 500 BST
Hortensia.png

Reasoning: Starting off as a wing tamer with exclusive access to the Sleipnir knight class, Hortensia is an airborne unit who wields tomes and staves. Flying obviously corresponds to her affinity, while Fairy is based on her cutesy appearance (which is also the reason for Cute Charm) and bubbly personality. She also gets Queenly Majesty as the second princess of Elusia. Varieties of tomes include fire, wind, thunder, surge (never-miss tomes, hence Aura Sphere), Tiramistorm (which translates to Fairy coverage because it's sweets-based like Slurpuff), and Nova (for which I added a bit more detail to the custom move name, as a means of future-proofing). Volt Switch is there partly because thunder tomes have 1-3 range in Engage, and partly because fliers have higher-than-average movement stats. Status moves other than Will-O-Wisp and Thunder Wave are based on staves including Heal, Physic, Fortify, Restore, Freeze, Entrap, Warp, Rescue, and Illume. Roost and Defog in particular are more based on her mount than anything. Base stats = growth rates * 1.5 (HP) or 2 (other), as in the Gen 7 Fates reps

"It's fine to take your time to decide. But as with everything, the choice is your own."
Pokémon: Eizen
Franchise/Origin: Tales of Zestiria/Berseria
Intended Tier: UU
Type: Rock/Flying
Ability: Reaper's Curse - If the user is Flying-type, then its Ground immunity is downgraded to a resistance (which the Rock part of Eizen's typing makes neutral), and it is left prone to (Toxic) Spikes, Sticky Web, and terrain effects. This Ability cannot be removed, but Air Balloon and Telekinesis cancel it out.
Notable moves: Accelerock, Ice Punch, Poison Jab, Drain Punch, Earthquake, Flare Blitz, Cross Chop, Dragon Ascent, Anchor Shot, Heat Wave, Power Gem, Ice Beam, Giga Drain, Earth Power, Vacuum Wave, Substitute, Hurricane, Shadow Ball, Recover, Wish, Outrage, Dragon Pulse, Dark Pulse, Stone Edge, Protect, Teleport, Revival Blessing
Other moves: Pound, Peck, Low Sweep, Smack Down, Acrobatics, Sky Uppercut, Fire Punch, Gust, Air Slash, Mud Shot, Agility, Heal Pulse, Rock Slide, Circle Throw, Detect
Z-Move: Venom Strike - Rock, Physical, 210 BP | Has combined efficacy with Poison, except against Steel-types. | Requires Stone Edge and Eizenium Z
Stats: 92/91/59/91/91/123 | 547 BST

"Edna..."
Primal Reversion: Eizen-Dragon
Item: Malevolence Overload
Intended Tier: OU
Type: Rock/Dragon
Ability: Multiscale
Stats: 92/121/59/101/111/163 (+30 Atk, +10 SpA, +20 SpD, +40 Spe) | 647 BST

Reasoning: Rock/Flying typing comes from Wielder of Earth and Wind: "A title for one adept at malak earth artes for vitality, and wind artes for flow." (This title is the second from the top.) His "Reaper's Curse" is a unique subversion of the blessings that pour out when a malak receives prayers (as well as a convenient excuse to remove the illogical Ground/hazard/terrain immunities). Protect, Detect, and Teleport correspond to guarding, quicksteps, and switching. The rest of his movepool is based on his artes. (His main forms of offense are martial artes and malak artes: the former physically oriented, and the latter magically oriented.)
Martial
Fate: Pound (weak non-elemental attack)
Verdict: Peck, Low Sweep (weak wind attack; lowers Focus (Speed-ish))
Tempo: Accelerock (weak earth attack)
Eleventh Hour: Smack Down ("Has a chance to knock down enemies.")
Winter Winds: Ice Punch, Poison Jab ("a swift hook surrounded by cold air"; causes poison)
Clear Path: Drain Punch, Acrobatics (described as a hook and absorbs HP; wind-imbued)
Lighthouse: Earthquake, Flare Blitz, Sky Uppercut ("Stomps down with great force"; "follows up with an explosive mid-air uppercut strong enough to shake the earth")
Mirage: Fire Punch ("a white-hot hook")
Coercion: Cross Chop ("Performs a sudden chop")
Last Throes: Dragon Ascent (strong wind attack)
Deceiving Pummel: Anchor Shot ("Causes countless chains to erupt from the ground.")

Malak
Wind Lance: Gust (weak wind attack)
Air Thrust: Air Slash (not-so-weak wind attack)
Hell Gate: Heat Wave (fire+wind attack)
Stone Lance: Power Gem (involves rock)
Frigid Photon: Ice Beam, Giga Drain ("Fires a chunk of ice that shatters into a cascade of ice blossoms upon impact." (reminiscent of early Ice Beam animations); absorbs HP)
Geo Rumble: Earth Power, Mud Shot ("Causes the ground to shake"; inflicts slow)
Flash Step: Vacuum Wave ("Instantly moves to one enemy.")
Illusory Veil: Substitute (grants invulnerability when hit (I kinda had to fudge this one))
Plundering Ghost: Hurricane, Shadow Ball (powerful wind-imbued attack; has "ghost" in the name)

Healing
Quickness: Agility (boosts movement speed)
Resurrection: Recover, Wish, Heal Pulse (restores HP), Revival Blessing

Break
Draconic Drive: Outrage (name association)
Dragon Dive: Dragon Pulse, Dark Pulse ("Unleashes a wave of pure darkness")
Tyrant's Fete: Rock Slide, Stone Edge (earth-imbued)

Other
Road of Survival (Change): Circle Throw ("Knocks enemies back")
Venom Strike (5 BG Mystic Arte; earth-imbued)
His base stats are calculated by taking level 75 stats and dividing HP by 50 while other stats are divided by 2.25, all rounded half down. (Focus becomes Speed because it affects Soul Gauge regeneration, effectively making for faster attacks.)
His dragon form is based on the concept that a malak like him can transform into a dragon when overloaded with malevolence. As foreshadowed in the side quests of Tales of Berseria, this does inevitably happen to him, making him a minor antagonist / side boss in Tales of Zestiria. (Berseria is a prequel to Zestiria, albeit released a year later.)

"Oh, good morning! How are you today?"
Pokémon: Plutia
Franchise/Origin: Hyperdimension Neptunia
Intended Tier: UU
Type: Electric/Dark
Ability: Truant / Oblivious
Custom move: Stress Release! (Dark-type, special, non-contact Frustration)
Notable moves: Thunderbolt, Discharge, Nuzzle, Foul Play, Sucker Punch, Air Slash, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Focus Blast, Energy Ball, Dazzling Gleam, Psyshock, Tera Blast, Acid Spray, Recover, Wish, Teleport, Taunt, Torment, Nasty Plot, Calm Mind, Protect
Other moves: Thunder, Spark, Dark Pulse, Punishment, Lash Out, Brutal Swing, Payback, Fling, Power Whip, Return, Frustration, Stomp, Wring Out, Heal Pulse, Rest, Sleep Talk, Snore
Z-Move: EXE Drive: With Dolls! - Dark, Special, 180 BP | Inflicts -1 SpD and Spe. | Requires Stress Release! and Plutium Z
Stats: 70/70/80/120/100/80 | 520 BST

"Now, let's enjoy ourselves to the fullest!"
Ultra Burst: Plutia-Iris-Heart
Item: Iris CPU Memory
Intended Tier: OU
Ability: Levitate
Z-Move: EXE Drive: Thunder Blade Kick - Dark, Special, 200 BP | Has combined efficacy with Electric, except against Ground-types. Inflicts SpD and Spe -1. | Requires Stress Release!
Stats: 70/85/95/145/125/100 (+15 Atk, +15 Def, +25 SpA, +25 SpD, +20 Spe) | 620 BST

Reasoning: Perpetually sleepy and absent-minded, Plutia is the CPU (Console Patron Unit) of one of multiple Planeptunes. She is Electric-type because she specializes in lightning attacks, and Dark-type due to her latent sadism. Truant and Oblivious represent her main personality traits in human form. When she transforms, her sadistic side takes the helm, and she gains wings that let her levitate.
In-game, she plays the role of a specially tanky cleric with an oddly copious amount of physical attacks. Her movepool is a balance between in-game skills and flavorful additions.
(Thunder Blade Kick is not just Electric-type because it's non-elemental instead of lightning-affiliated, despite its name.)

The first thing you think of for summer is the sun.

Name: Sol
Franchise: SMITE
Intended Tier: OU
Type:
1687538953520.png

Ability: Flame Body | Solar Power | [HA] Levitate
Stats: 76 HP/100 Atk/72 Def/90 SpA/88 SpD/105 Spe (531 BST)

Moves: Eruption, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Fire Punch, Mystical Fire, Flame Charge, Overheat, Solar Beam, Dark Pulse, Shadow Ball, Foul Play, Flash Cannon, Surf, Aqua Tail, Water Spout, Sunny Day, Weather Ball, Will-O-Wisp, Cosmic Power, Rain Dance, Nasty Plot, Morning Sun
Reasoning: Sol is the goddess of the sun (Solar Power). Her real body is running from Skoll, but she uses an avatar body that is made of fire (Flame Body) and floats everywhere (Levitate). Sol's abilities have her use fire in different ways, though some of her skins give them different effects.

Fallen Star: Dark Pulse, Shadow Ball, Foul Play, Nasty Plot
Soulless Machine: Flash Cannon
Sea Nymph: Aqua Tail, Surf, Water Spout, Rain Dance

Sol @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Solar Power
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest or Timid Nature
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
- Dark Pulse / Foul Play
- Morning Sun

Sol @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Morning Sun
- Will-O-Wisp
- Cosmic Power
- Eruption

Has a beach volleyball skin.

Name: Nu Wa
Franchise: SMITE
Intended Tier: OU
Type:
1687540670357.png

Ability: Levitate | Serene Grace
Stats: 77 HP/82 Atk/77 Def/110 SpA/124 SpD/88 Spe (558 BST)

Moves: Strength of Wood, Power Gem, Ancient Power, Meteor Beam, Rock Blast, Smack Down, Rock Throw, Rock Tomb, Dragon Tail, Surf, Aqua Tail, Earth Power, Scorching Sands, Attack Order, Flash Cannon, Steel Beam, Mystical Fire, Pyro Ball, Draco Meteor, Psychic, Dark Pulse, Dazzling Gleam, Stealth Rock, Mist, Haze, Coil, Cosmic Power, Telekinesis, Glare, Harden
Strength of Wood |
1687540684237.png
|
1687540694137.png
| 15 BP | 16 PP | 100% | Hits 3-6 times. If the sixth hit lands, it traps.
Reasoning: Nu Wa is the Guardian of Heaven (Serene Grace, which is called Heavenly Blessing in Japanese). When Heaven and Earth were in danger, Nu Wa created five mystic stones, corresponding with Fire, Water, Earth, Metal, and Wood. In battle, she controls these stones telekinetically (Telekinesis, Psychic) and uses them for her abilities.
  • Mysterious Fog: Mist, Haze, Surf
  • Clay Soldiers: Attack Order, Earth Power
  • Shining Metal: Flash Cannon, Steel Beam
  • Fire Shards: Mystical Fire, Pyro Ball, Draco Meteor
Nu Wa's passive ability is Strength of Wood, which makes every sixth basic attack she uses root whoever it hits into the ground. Since basic attacks aren't a thing in Pokemon, this was translated to be a six hit move. Nu Wa was half-snake when she was first released (Coil, Dragon Tail, Glare) but was then changed to having human legs and floating (Levitate). She has low movement speed but higher attack speed. She has low HP and physical protection.
  • Cove Queen: Aqua Tail
  • Nu Horizons: Cosmic Power
  • Challenger/Ace: Scorching Sands
  • Nice and Naughty: Dazzling Gleam

Nu Wa @ Assault Vest
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpD
Modest Nature
- Mystical Fire
- Meteor Beam / Power Gem
- Earth Power
- Psychic

Nu Wa @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Mystical Fire
- Glare
- Haze
- Stealth Rock

Tries to warm up the weather on an arctic island.

Name: Herbert P. Bear
Franchise: Club Penguin
Intended Tier: UU
Type:
1687541164594.png
1687541176848.png

Ability: Technician | Heatproof | [HA] Sap Sipper
Stats: 89 HP/70 Atk/89 Def/105 SpA/120 SpD/52 Spe (525 BST)

Moves: Icy Wind, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Ice Punch, Ice Shard, Icicle Crash, Aurora Beam, Dark Pulse, Knock Off, Lash Out, Snarl, Charge Beam, Zap Cannon, Volt Switch, Earthquake, Earth Power, Drill Run, Dig, Magnet Bomb, Smart Strike, Seed Bomb, Solar Beam, Giga Drain, Stone Axe, Meteor Beam, Fire Blast, Heat Wave, Fire Spin, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Breath, Draco Meteor, Psybeam, Signal Beam, Explosion, Snowscape, Aurora Veil, Haze, Nasty Plot, Parting Shot, Taunt, Torment, Thunder Wave, Iron Defense, Hypnosis, Sunny Day, Will-O-Wisp
Reasoning: Herbert, riding the Hydra Bot, was a boss in the Battle of Doom.

Herbert is a polar bear who lives in the snowy Club Penguin (Ice), and has enacted many plans to disrupt the lives of the penguins who live there (Dark). He is an inventor who has used a wide array of technology (Technician), and a herbivore, despite polar bears typically being carnivores (Sap Sipper). He is much more comfortable in warm environments; several of his schemes involve trying to heat up Club Penguin (Heatproof). He gets lots of moves from his inventions.
  • Earthquake Driller: Earthquake, Earth Power, Drill Run, Dig
  • Electromagnet 3000: Magnet Bomb
  • Popcorn Bomb: Seed Bomb
  • Solar Laser: Solar Beam, Giga Drain
  • Mechanical Woodchopper: Stone Axe
  • Hydra Bot: Dragon Pulse, Fire Blast, Iron Defense, Smart Strike, Dragon Breath
  • Pied Piper Machine: Hypnosis, Zap Cannon
  • Hot Sauce 3000: Explosion, Heat Wave, Sunny Day, Will-O-Wisp
  • Snow Globe of Silence: Aurora Veil
  • Trifecta of Doom: Meteor Beam, Psybeam, Signal Beam, Draco Meteor
Herbert P. Bear @ Assault Vest
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD

- Snarl

Reasoning: Friendly Pianta friends from Super Mario Sunshine (I promise I will reduce the size of this move list, I am tackling this slowly but surely.) Moveset inspired by "What if Hariyama lived on a tropical island?" Fighting type because regular members of their species can toss Mario several feet in the air, but Normal type because they are just regular citizens of this tropical paradise.

1687555614482.png

Alternate Form: Don Pianta
Intended Tier: OU?
Type: Fighting / Dark
Ability: Defiant / Guts / Supreme Overlord
Stats: 120/120/100/80/80/50 [BST 550]

Reasoning: You want a Godfather Pianta? Well look no further than this guy, which is exactly what happens when your Pianta gets mixed with a Kingambit. Fan-favourite character from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, you don't want to mess with the Don.
