I noticed that of the seventeen types, Flying and Fighting were the two types ending in "ing". I thought it would be cute to change all the other types to match their type. Here is a list with an explanation?
Rock- Rolling Type
A rolling stone gathers no moss, Rock and Roll music.
Water- Swimming Type
Most water pokemon live in the water, and thus, must know how to swim.
Electric- Electrifying Type
Not too happy with this one, but just watched Grease again, so it felt appropriate:

Grass- Growing Type
Grass grows, fruit grows, plants (in general) grow.
Poison: Poisoning Type
No pun or witticism for this one.
Psychic- Thinking Type
Seems dumb, but if you really think about, it's kinda still dumb
Fire: Burning Type
Erupting Burning Finger anyone?
Ground: Dusting Type
Ground types are known for their impeccable tidiness.
Flying
Bug- Creeping and Crawling Type
It was either this or Burrowing and laying eggs in your skin type.
Normal: Walking Type
So, I go to google and type: "birds fly, fish swim-" and "dogs walk" appears. Nothing says normal type more than the most mundane, yet necessary activity of walking.
Ghost- Haunting Type
Chickening was a close second:
Steel- Magnetizing/Rusting Type
Science geeks, help me out here?
Fighting-
Ice- Freezing Type
Solid choice here, unless put in a hot room...
Dragon- Terrorizing/Slithering/Trogdoring Type
Dark- Shading Type
As in make-up. Make-Up Mons. Can you imagine? Are you imagining a Houndoom with mascara?
Fairy- Glittering Type
Aka queer identifying pokemon. Female Mr. Mimes and Machamps are welcomed and safe here.
