Other Metagames Get Meme'd On - Mono Ghost Team

I've been competitively battling in monotype singles for a decent while. I've played every type competitively, but ghost has always been my favorite. I've been using this team as my go to for quite a while now, and it's by far the best working monotype team I've ever had. It could probably use a few tiny adjustments here and there considering I'm not exactly the best battler and I made this team at 2 in the morning, so I'm open to all suggestions. I named the team Get Meme'd On, because I damn well can. I deeply apologize for all of the horrible jokes that exist within this team, but at the same time I am not sorry.

Paul Blart
Status/Stall/Taunter

Paul Blart (Jellicent) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt
- Hex
- Recover

This is my favorite build to use on Jellicent. It's a complete and utter nuisance to take down. With it's already high defense, leftovers, recover, water absorb, and the ability to halve your attack stat with a burn, Paul isn't the easiest to deal with. He has to protect the mall, after all. I gave Jellicent hex for two reasons. One, so it cannot be taunted and stuck with struggle. Two, because Jellicent already has will-o-wisp, if the opposing mon is burned already hex will cause more damage. In my opinion, Jellicent is probably one of (if not the) most important members on this team.

Ooh He Thique

Physical Attacker/Hazard
Ooh He Thique (Golurk) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Dynamic Punch
- Zen Headbutt
- Stone Edge

I use Golurk for a few reasons. One, stealth rock for hazards, and Two, his fighting type moves with no guard ability help greatly against dark types, the number one weakness of this team. His speed is lacking, but he can withstand hits pretty well. He's thique, and he packs a good punch.

Guy Fieri
Revenge Killer/Special Attacker
Guy Fieri (Chandelure) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dark Pulse
- Flamethrower
- Energy Ball
- Psychic

Chandelure is my revenge killer. I've set everything to lean towards attack and speed. Chandelure is frail as it is already, but has pretty good typing and special attack. Therefore I boosted his speed to help attack first and send the opponents to flavortown without taking a hit.

Dat Boi
Wallbreaker/Fast Sweeper
Dat Boi (Gengar) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dazzling Gleam
- Disable
- Substitute
- Sludge Bomb

Gotta love Gengar. Gengar is pretty frail, so substitute is a must. I would typically set him up with destiny bond, but I've found disable helping quite a bit as well. Gengar can take out many strong opponents with his special attack, and his speed is definitely crucial since most ghost types are usually a bit slow. Dazzling Gleam is for coverage against dark. Sludge bomb for STAB.

Spoopy
Hazard/Destiny Bond/Special Sweeper
Spoopy (Froslass) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spikes
- Destiny Bond
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt

Reliable as a lead, typical spikes destiny bond set up. Ice Beam for STAB, thunderbolt for coverage. Froslass is very important, being speedy like Gengar. However she is also rather frail. The speed boost and Focus Sash allow her to set things up and destiny bond and take out opponents quickly.

Gnome
Trick/Status
Gnome (Sableye) (M) @ Lagging Tail
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SDef
Calm Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Knock Off
- Recover
- Trick

I'm not taking the M-Sab route, because I want the prankster ability that is dropped in Sableye's mega. Trick with lagging tail is a big help especially since ghost type's main problem is speed. Use sableye to halve attack like Jellicent with Will-O-Wisp, taunt to stop other set-ups, and voila. Knock Off helps to screw up enemies once trick has already been used and is just a useful competitive move in general. Sableye is the sole option besides Spiritomb that is safe from Knock Off spams. Definitely a must.

That's all, folks. Hope you enjoy.

Hey, interesting team. Here's a rate:

Jellicent's more effective as a specially defensive wall because it's Special Defense is a lot higher than it's Defense. It's a pretty slow Pokemon so Taunt isn't gonna be that useful, you should definitely replace it with Scald and add Toxic over Will'O'Wisp because of Scald's high chance to burn.
  • 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD w/ Calm Nature > EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD w/ Bold Nature
  • Scald > Taunt
  • Toxic > Will'O'Wisp
Golurk is Ghost's only Stealth Rock user and you want to have as big of a chance as you can to get them up so you should change Rocky Helmet to Focus Sash and put a Jolly nature. Replace Zen Headbutt with Earthquake for a powerful STAB attack, Zen Headbutt won't be doing much for you.
  • Focus Sash > Rocky Helmet
  • Jolly nature > Adamant nature
  • Earthquake > Zen Headbutt
Before I get to the moves, the most important thing about Chandelure on Ghost-type teams is that it counters Mega Charizard Y which Ghost has no answers for. That's why you should change the ability to Flash Fire because even though it's resisted, Fire Blast in Sun 2HKOs Chandelure. As for the moveset, you don't have any Ghost STAB so I definitely say you should add Shadow Ball over Dark Pulse and Trick over Psychic. Dark Pulse hits Ghost and Psychic types for super effective damage and Shadow Ball does the same but it's more powerful because it's STAB. Trick is more useful than Psychic for crippling stallbreakers and walls. Shadow Ball and Flamethrower are pretty reliable to spam so there's no point in using anything else on this slot.
  • Flash Fire > Infiltrator
  • Shadow Ball > Dark Pulse
  • Trick > Psychic
This set seems a bit funky. I recommend changing it to a Life Orb set with Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Focus Blast and Dazzling Gleam / Destiny Bond. It's very effective at wallbreaking and the coverage really helps out.
  • Life Orb > Leftovers
  • Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Focus Blast, Dazzling Gleam / Destiny Bond > Dazzling Gleam, Disable, Substitute, Sludge Bomb
Your team lacks a good physical attacker, I wouldn't count Golurk since it's main job is to set up Stealth Rock and it's too slow without any form of set-up. That's why I'd recommend replacing Froslass with Doublade.
  • Doublade > Froslass
Mega Sableye is being suspected at the time I'm writing this, otherwise I'd suggest that because it's an incredibly good Pokemon. For right now I highly recommend you give Leftovers to Sableye and make it max Defense. Finally you wanna give it Taunt instead of Trick to prevent hazards, status or set-up since you don't have the Magic Bounce ability to do so.
  • 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD w/ Impish nature > 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SpD w/ Calm nature
  • Leftovers > Lagging Tail
  • Taunt > Trick
