Gigalith is an incredibly bulky special wall capable of setting Stealth Rock and checking a multitude of dangerous special attackers, including Ninetales, Sigilyph, and Exploud. Additionally, Gigalith serves as a hard check to sun teams, stopping sweepers like Charizard and Heliolisk in their tracks. Unfortunately, a combination of low Speed, common weaknesses, and a lack of recovery will result in Gigalith getting worn down over the course of a match. Gigalith also faces stiff competition from Rhyperior and Bronzong, which can be used to check Pokemon like Drapion and Indeedee-F, respectively, while also threatening out Gigalith itself. Earthquake is an important coverage move, allowing Gigalith to deal heavy damage to Pokemon such as Dragalge and Klefki. Rock Blast can be used over Stone Edge for its higher accuracy and PP, but is unreliable and usually weaker. Toxic is used to passively damage Pokemon that may switch in on Gigalith and force it out, such as Milotic, Bewear, and Virizion, weakening them for teammates. Throat Chop is a niche option to hit Bronzong, which takes little damage from Gigalith's other moves. Gigalith can hold a Smooth Rock on sand teams to better enable dangerous sand sweepers like Lycanroc and Sandslash; this item is not recommended outside of such teams.

Gigalith fits well on teams that need an answer to common special threats and sun teams. It appreciates teammates such as Dragalge and Toxicroak to with Fighting- and Grass- types. Powerful physical attackers with super effective coverage, such as Bewear, Golisopod, and Golurk, can easily break through Gigalith, so teammates that can switch into them, like Xatu and Milotic, can form a potent defensive core. Common Ground-types like Steelix and Seismitoad can switch into and force Gigalith out easily, so teammates that can deal with them like Dhelmise and Tangela are appreciated. Pokemon that can take advantage of bulky Water-types, such as Toxicroak and Heliolisk, synergize well with Gigalith's weakness to them. Because it lacks recovery, Wish support from clerics like Umbreon and Vaporeon can keep Gigalith healthy throughout a game. Due to Gigalith's reliance on Leftovers for recovery, teammates that can switch into Knock Off like Silvally-Fairy are appreciated. Gigalith forms the backbone of sand teams, as Sand Stream allows teammates like Lycanroc and Sandslash to outspeed nearly every Pokemon in the tier.

Ready for QC!

had doubts about stone edge because of personal bias. ive been running rock blast because of sub lazzle from preDLC, but i'm pretty sure we don't have any prominent sub or sash users anymore
not too sure about having stone edge slashed. it doesn't hit many notable damage thresholds (anything it hits rock blast is also capable of hitting), and Rock Blasts' utility and accuracy seem far more valuable. I included it mostly because it seems to always have been included in gigalith analyses

Gigalith is an incredibly bulky special wall capable of setting Stealth Rock and countering a multitude of dangerous special attackers, including Ninetales, Gardevoir, and Exploud. Additionally, Gigalith serves as a hard check to Sun teams, stopping sweepers like Charizard and Heliolisk in their tracks. Unfortunately, a combination of low speed, common physical weaknesses, and a lack of recovery will result in Gigalith getting worn down over the course of a match. Gigalith also faces stiff competition with Rhyperior and Bronzong, who can take physical attacks better and have better defensive typings in many situations. firstly, gigalith actually has better physical bulk than zong, though that isn't the point. pretty much all of the things that gigalith checks besides like centiskorch are special mons and taking physical hits isn't supposed to be its entire niche. none of these mons are dedicated physical walls. i think that this should be reworded to say that gigalith lets in things that punish it easier. Stealth Rock is a valuable resource for any team, and Gigalith is able to set it up on any of the Pokemon it checks. fluff, you don't have to explain what sr does. Earthquake is an important coverage move, allowing Gigalith to deal heavy damage to Pokemon such as Dragalge and Klefki. Rock Blast is a powerful (is it, most of the time its just weaker than stone edge) STAB option, breaking substitutes (i can't really recall any relevant sub users, there's salazzle but that set is pretty bad) and having a chance to 2HKO potential switch-ins like Xatu and Mantine. Stone Edge can be used over Rock Blast, as it often deals more damage and can nab KOs on Pokemon like Sigilyph and Goodra that Rock Blast can't, but the utility and accuracy of Rock Blast are usually more valuable. idk about this, rock blast doesn't have that much utility over stone edge and the accuracy is a fair point but like. rock blast just seems pretty bad compared to stone edge which deals more consistent damage instead of rock blast's inconsistent hit chance. stone edge just feels portrayed too negatively here. Toxic is used to passively damage Pokemon that may switch in on Gigalith and force it out, such as Milotic and Virizion, weakening them for Gigalith's teammates. Gigalith can hold a Smooth Rock on Sand Teams to enable dangerous Sand sweepers like Lycanroc and Sandslash, but the item is not recommended outside of such teams. (moved this earlier bc it should be in set comments instead of in team options) The given EVs maximize Gigalith's special bulk, letting it check special attackers more effectively. fluff

Gigalith fits well on teams that need an answer to common special threats and Sun teams. Gigalith appreciates teammates who can deal with Fighting and Grass types; Pokemon like Mantine, Centiskorch, and Vileplume can form a defensive core with it. centi isn't rly a defensive mon so its not the best for this example. Pokemon that can take advantage of bulky Water-types, such as Toxicroak and Gastrodon (wouldn't really say gastro takes advantage of bulky waters when they just toxic it and gastro cannot touch them back besides toxic of its own, synergize well with Gigalith's weakness against them. Because it lacks recovery, Wish support from clerics like Umbreon and Vaporeon can keep Gigalith healthy throughout a game. Gigalith can hold a Smooth Rock on Sand Teams to enable dangerous Sand sweepers like Lycanroc and Sandslash, but the item is not recommended outside of such teams. see above

with how short these team options are there should probably be more examples here. some examples include physdef arc for grass-types, lycanroc + sandslash as partners that can exploit sand, galarian slowbro to check fightings, etc.

Unfortunately, a combination of low speed, common physical weaknesses, and a lack of recovery will result in Gigalith getting worn down over the course of a match. Gigalith also faces stiff competition with Rhyperior and Bronzong, who have better defensive typings and are less vulnerable to being punished for staying in. No idea what this is supposed to mean, it just feels like fluff so remove it. Earthquake is an important coverage move, allowing Gigalith to deal heavy damage to Pokemon such as Dragalge and Klefki. Stone Edge is Gigalith's primary STAB option, and hits deceptively hard off of its base 135 attack. Fluff. Rock Blast can be used for its higher accuracy and PP, but is unreliable and usually weaker than Stone Edge. Toxic is used to passively damage Pokemon that may switch in on Gigalith and force it out, such as Milotic and Virizion, weakening them for Gigalith's teammates. Gigalith normally holds Leftovers to provide passive recovery, but it can hold a Smooth Rock on Sand Teams to enable dangerous Sand sweepers like Lycanroc and Sandslash; this item is not recommended outside of such teams. Fluff, we know what Leftovers does. The given EVs maximize Gigalith's special bulk, letting it check special attackers more effectively. Fluff.

Gigalith fits well on teams that need an answer to common special threats and Sun teams. Gigalith appreciates teammates who can deal with Fighting- and Grass-types. Such as? Give some examples. Pokemon like Mantine, Dragalge, and Arcanine can form a defensive core with it. Pokemon that can take advantage of bulky Water-types, such as Toxicroak and Virizion, synergize well with Gigalith's weakness against them. Because it lacks recovery, Wish support from clerics like Umbreon and Vaporeon can keep Gigalith healthy throughout a game. Slowbro-Galar Galarian Slowbro stands out as an excellent partner for Gigalith; it serves as an excellent Fighting resist that benefits from Gigalith's ability to set hazards and tank special hits. Give more emphasis on the Galarian Slowbro / Gigalith core, as they do much more for each other than the things listed here. For example, Galarian Slowbro can deal with Virizion and Vileplume, and if its itemless, Dhelmise.

These team options feel pretty barren and I think they could be expanded. Some examples are: Silvally-Fairy for checking Fighting-types and absorbing Knock Off, which Gigalith hates. Heliolisk can take advantage of the Water-types that Gigalith has trouble with. There's also no mention of the sand duo of Lycanroc and Sandslash anywhere in here. Add that both Lycanroc and Sandslash benefit from Sand Rush to prevent faster Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Gardevoir from revenging it.

Tag me when this is done and I'll take another look. Also, please add the credits.

Just to add to Juno's team options comments: you should mention teammates that can handle Ground-types like Rhyperior, Steelix, and Seismitoad, especially since you are discussing a core of Gigalith+Galarian Slowbro in which both members are weak to it.

Gigalith is an incredibly bulky special wall capable of setting Stealth Rock and countering a multitude of dangerous special attackers, including Ninetales, Gardevoir, and Exploud. Ehh I wouldn't say it counters them, especially since its easily worn down. Non-Solar Beam Ninetales sure, the latter 2 no. Just say it checks them. Gigalith also faces stiff competition with Rhyperior and Bronzong, who have better defensive typings and are used to check different Pokemon. I don't really get what this latter part means, just list some examples of why you'd use Rhyperior and Bronzong over Gigalith. Earthquake is an important coverage move, allowing Gigalith to deal heavy damage to Pokemon such as Dragalge and Klefki. Rock Blast can be used over Stone Edge for its higher accuracy and PP, but is unreliable and usually weaker. Gigalith appreciates teammates who can deal with Fighting- and Grass types, such as Dragalge and Galarian Slowbro. Gigalith appreciates teammates such as Dragalge and Galarian Slowbro who can deal with Fighting- and Grass types. Reworded this sentence because it reads awkwardly. Powerful physical attackers with super effective coverage such as Bewear, Golisopod, and Golurk can easily break through Gigalith, teammates that can switch into them, like Sableye, Xatu, and Milotic can form a potent defensive core. This sentence also reads pretty weirdly. Also, remove the Sableye mention and replace it with Galarian Slowbro, because Sableye isn't good. Galarian Slowbro stands out as an excellent partner for Gigalith; Galarian Slowbro deals with many of Gigalith's counters, such as Virizion, Vileplume, and Dhelmise if itemless, while also benefiting from Gigalith's hazards and ability to tank special hits from Pokemon like Indeedee-F and Goodra. I moved this way earlier since Galarian Slowbro is such a good partner that it should be mentioned before a lot of these mons. Common Ground-types like Rhyperior, Steelix, and Seismitoad can force Gigalith out easily, so teammates that can deal with them like Dhelmise and Inteleon are appreciated. Inteleon doesn't really deal with the latter one, you can replace it with something like Tangela. Pokemon that can take advantage of bulky Water-types, such as Toxicroak and Heliolisk, synergize well with Gigalith's weakness against them. Because it lacks recovery, Wish support from clerics like Umbreon and Vaporeon can keep Gigalith healthy throughout a game. Due to Gigalith's reliance on Leftovers for recovery, teammates that can switch into Knock Off like Silvally-Fairy, Scrafty, and Umbreon are appreciated. The latter two don't really switch into some of the common Knock users like Passimian and Centiskorch well, just remove the latter two. Gigalith forms the backbone of Sand teams, as Sand Stream allows teammates like Lycanroc and Sandslash to outspeed nearly every Pokemon in the tier.
