Hi folks.
Being tired of switching pokes all the time, I'm attempting a team to minimize this switching. My aim is that when battling this team, a switch on either side shall easily force a sac, so pokes especially those on my side switch as rarely as possible.
Such a team obviously rejects any Choice item, so it forfeits, most importantly, the speed boost from scarves.
So, my first pokemon should be those easy to set up and with powerful priority moves.
Breloom (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
- Bullet Seed
- Mach Punch
- Spore
- Swords Dance
Breloom can't touch dragons, then I must have:
Weavile @ Life Orb
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Ice Shard
- Ice Punch
- Low Kick
- Night Slash
I kept ice punch here instead of sth like SD, because I need to ohko dragonite, which no one else really can.
Both these two are weak to fire and can't lead against sun teams, so:
Infernape @ Life Orb
Trait: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Mach Punch
- Swords Dance
- Fire Punch
It also deals with scizors spamming u-turn. I feel I really need to pack as much priority as possible, hence mach punch instead of Thunderpunch/EQ etc.
While Infernape can deal with Ninetales and Tyranitar leads, I still need another lead that suits more situations. I want it to be able to live a hit and then at least die along with 1 foe.
Dragonite (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Fire Punch
- ExtremeSpeed
With LO, a +1 dragonite can 2hko ferrothorn in rain, gliscor and hippowdon etc.
It will also most likely beat skarmory leads 1 on 1 (indeed strange I haven't met a single one with taunt or whirlwind?)
Finally, as everyone so far is a physical attacker, and must rely on setup. On the special side, since no priority is available, I need its speed as fast as possible.
Alakazam @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Focus Blast
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Shadow Ball
There's only 1 slot left. Gyarados, Thundurus, Scizor or someone else?
Jirachi and Volcarona are 2 major threats to the known team.
So far I've only tried Scizor and Gyarados (both with sub+setup) and can't really tell which is better.
