Girl, he did WHAAAT? [OU RMT]

INTRODUCTION
So, I've posted on these forums a few times now at attempting to find a team with the same goal: a viable team in WiFi and Shoddy Battle that use Pokemon I enjoy using. Anyways, here's my FINAL team, although I am open to any comments/criticism/suggestions. I've had pretty good success with this team with only 1 loss on WiFi with about 3 or 4 wins (school prevents me from playing more than I'd like to), and I'm really happy where this team is at. Although I did post a team similar to this around a month ago, I think I've made enough changes to this team to warrant a new thread. In addition, I don't want to bump up a dead thread.

THE MIXPERT
260.png

Swampert (Grosz) @ Leftovers
Gender: Male
Nature: Relaxed
Ability: Torrent
EV Spread: 240 HP/216 Def/52 SpA
Moveset:
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
- Earthquake
Name reasoning: George Grosz is my favorite artist. Seriously, that's it. xD
What does he do for my team?
Well, Swampert mainly acts as a mixed attacker that can break down common sweepers and certain walls due to his respectable 110 Attack and his decent 85 Special Attack. Earthquake and Hydro Pump also both get STAB which increases their wall/sweep breaking power. Ice Beam takes care of annoying dragons such as Salamence, and Stealth Rocks are there since they're almost absolutely necessary to any competetive team nowadays.

THE CURSELAX
143.png

Snorlax (Edvard) @ Leftovers
Gender: Male
Nature: Careful
Ability: Thick Fat
EV Spread:
168 HP / 120 Def / 220 SpD
- Curse
- Rest
- Earthquake
- Crunch
Name reasoning: Edvard Munch's last name reminds me of Munchlax (even though it is pronounced like "munk" as opposed to "munch").
What does he do for my team?
To start off, Snorlax has been one of my favorite Pokemon since RBY. Seriously, he's a gigantic sleeping teddy bear that wrecks havoc if he's woken up. What's more badass than that? Anyways, that's beside the point. Snorlax acts as my primary special wall. Thick Fat helps block common attacks such as Fire Blast and the all popular Ice Beam, which also helps Weavile with the special sweepers he fears. Curse is used on the switch and against walls such as Bronzong which can do little against Snorlax. Earthquake takes care of Heatran, and Crunch takes care of Psychics such as Cresselia.

THE BADASS REVENGE KILLER
461.png

Weavile (Rogue) @ Choice Band
Gender: Male
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Pressure
EV Spread: 252 Att/252 Speed/4 HP
Moveset:
- Pursuit
- Ice Shard
- Brick Break
- Night Slash
Name reasoning: Rogues are stealthy, cold, heartless assassins who quickly eliminate their target. It reminds me of Weavile :P
What does he do for my team?
Although I personally think Sneasel looks cooler than Weavile, Weavile's just as cool too. Although Weavile isn't commonly used as mure (for good reason), he's still a potential threat in OU that strikes fear into the hearts of Ghosts and Psychics. He's able to outspeed any unboosted Gengar, Azelf, and Alakzam, and threaten them with a Choice Banded Pursuit or Night Slash. Brick Break is fantastic for late game sweeping and revenge killing against steel types and other dark types. In the rare case that Rogue faces another Weavile, he will be able to outspeed it due to his Jolly nature and maxed 252 speed.

THE SURPRISING PHYSICAL WALL
110.png

Weezing (Tossico) @ Leftovers
Gender: Male
Nature: Bold
Ability: Levitate
EV Spread: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SpA
Moveset:
- Flamethrower
- Thunderbolt
- Wil O Wisp
- Pain Split
Name reasoning: "Tossico" means toxic in Italian. Seriously, how do you get more toxic than Weezing?
Why would I ever use this thing in OU?
Weezing being used in OU? LIEK, NO WAI GURLFREEEND. Even though he's a primary UU contender, he works fantastic in OU, keeping threats such as Lucario and Scizor in check. He takes little damage from any Scizor or Heracross, and physical Lucario has huge trouble trying to put even a scratch on him. Although he's commonly viewed as a weaker Gliscor (due to Gliscor's higher speed and instant recovery), Weezing has a big advantage: he isn't weak to Ice attacks, which allows him to take hits from Mamoswine and Ice Punch (which I've seen more and more on Lucario lately in OU Shoddy). Although I have to be somewhat careful of Psycho Cut, there aren't many physical attacks Weezing has to be afraid of, making him an extremely viable physical wall.

THE MISCHIEVOUS SPECIAL SWEEPER
94.png

Gengar (Samael) @ Life Orb
Gender: Male
Nature: Timid
Ability: Levitate
EV Spread: 252 SpA/252 Speed/4 HP
Moveset:
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Energy Ball
- Focus Blast
Name reasoning: Samael is the name for the Hebrew angel of Death.
What does he do for my team?
Alright, Gengar is another favorite of mine since RBY. Actually, I have a Gengar figurine sitting upon a shelf of mine... ANYWAYS, I've been a big fan of Gengar since the early days of RBY, and even since then, he's still a total beast. Psychics shit their pants when they see a STAB Shadow Ball coming at them, and Thunderbolt helps deal with annoying waters such as Suicune. Focus Blast helps against Normal types. Now, many people wonder, why Energy Ball? If you haven't seen it now, my team has a fairly big Swampert weakness. Most people don't predict Energy Ball on a Gengar, and you would be shocked on how much the surprise factor helps me score an OHKO against Swampert. I could switch this out for Explosion to deal with Blissey, but I have Salamence to accomplish this for me. Plus, most experienced OU players are expecting this from a Gengar, and will switch out to a viable counter when this happens.

THE SOMEWHAT GENERIC WALL BREAKER
373.png

Salamence (Discordia) @ Life Orb
Gender: Female
Nature: Rash
Ability: Intimidate
EV Spread: 80 Atk / 252 SpA / 176 Spe
Moveset:
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Brick Break
- Roost
Name reasoning: Discordia is the Goddess of strife in Greek mythology. Seems fitting for something so destructive and powerful such as Salamence, right?
What does she do for my team?
I'm really glad mtr12 pointed this moveset out to me. Alright, most people ask: why use a Classic MixMence over a New MixMence? The reason: she completely obliterates any Stall Team. Although stall is rarely seen on WiFi due to lengthy 2+ hour games, stall is common on Shoddy. Discordia gets rid of walls such as Blissey, 2HKO'ing her with Brick Break. Bronzong as well fears a boosted Fire Blast, as does special Jirachi. Roost is for self healing against Stealth Rock damage against stall teams.

CONCLUSION
So, there you have it. That's the team I'm going to use in Shoddy and WiFi. I'm all ears for suggestions, comments and criticizm. Again, thanks for reading my thread! I'd also like to give credit to my friends Wob Marley, Carry and Inz for supporting my use of the all powerful Weezing and helping me with building my team in the first place. :D

COMPREHENSIVE THREAT LIST
Tyranitar:Swampert can hit him back hard with Earthquake, Weavile can revenge kill w/ Brick Break.
Gyarados:Weezing takes little damage from him and can hit him with Thunderbolt.
Infernape:Depending on the set, I can switch into Weezing, Salamence or Gengar. Actually, Infernape is somewhat difficult to counter for my team.
Azelf:Snorlax can switch into any of Azelf's attacks with ease and can hit him with Crunch. Gengar switches in to eat the Explosion.
Rhyperior:Swampert can switch in and take him out with Hydro Pump. I've never had a problem with this thing.
Electivire: Swampert can come in and OHKO with Earthquake.
Heracross: Weezing can come in and hit back with Flamethrower. Will O Wisp can be used, but I have to be certain it doesn't have Guts.
Salamence: Swampert can come in and hit him with an Ice Beam, Weavile can revenge kill with Ice Shard.
Togekiss: Salamence can switch in and smack this asshole with a STAB Draco Meteor. I've had trouble with dealing with Togekiss in the past, but Salamence hasn't had a problem with it. Even if it switches out, nothing takes a STAB Life Orb Draco Meteor too well regardless.
Gengar: Snorlax can switch in and hit back with Crunch, Weavile can come into a Shadow ball and OHKO with Pursuit.
Raikou: Snorlax can take all of its attacks with no problem and OHKO with Earthquake.
Lucario: Weezing laughs at all of Lucario's attacks and hits back with Will O Wisp and Flamethrower.
Rampardos: Swampert can come in and Earthquake. I'm not even sure why this thing is even on the threat list o_O;
Tauros: Weezing doesn't worry about any of the attacks it can throw at it and hits back with Thunderbolt.
Starmie: Snorlax can come in and take all of Starmie's attacks and hit back with Crunch. Weavile can also revenge kill with Pursuit.
Weavile: Weezing can take any attack Weavile throws at it and hits back with Flamethrower and Will O Wisp.
Dugtrio: Since I can't switch out due to Arena Trap, it has no counter. However, Weavile can revenge kill it with Pursuit or Ice Shard.
Alakazam: Weavile can switch in and Pusuit or Night Slash, Snorlax can come in with Crunch but has to watch out for Focus Blast.
Porygon-Z: Gengar can come into a Tri Attack and hit it with a Thunderbolt or Focus Blast.
Medicham: Weezing can take a Psycho Cut and can hit back with Thunderbolt and Will O Wisp, Gengar or Weavile can come in and revenge kill.
Staraptor: Weezing can come in and hit him with a Thunderbolt.
Slowbro: Snorlax can outstall it and hit him with a Curse boosted Crunch, Weavile can revenge kill with Pursuit.
Jolteon: Snorlax can take anything it throws at him and OHKO's with Earthquake.
Aerodactyl: Swampert can take any of its attacks with ease and can OHKO with a STAB Hydro Pump, unless it has Focus Sash. Regardless, even with Focus Sash, he can use Ice Beam to finish it off.
Snorlax: Salamence can come in with Brick Break and doesn't fear many of its attacks. Swampert can also come in and Earthquake, Weavile can revenge kill. Gengar can Focus Blast as well.
Zapdos: Snorlax doesn't fear anything it throws at it and can Curse stall and kill it.
Blissey: Salamence can come in and 2OHKO with Brick Break, Snorlax can outstall it and hit it with powerful Curse boosted Earthquakes and Crunches.
Suicune: aaaargh I fucking hate this thing. I can send in Gengar and hope to OHKO with a boosted Life Orb Thunderbolt. Otherwise, this thing can be a real bitch to kill.
Sceptile: Weezing can take on physical variants, while Snorlax can come in on special variants. Salamence can also come in and hit it with a Fire Blast, although I have careful about HP Ice.
Slaking: Weezing totally walls this thing and can hit it back with Thunderbolt and Will O Wisp.
Ninjask: Swampert can Ice Beam, Weezing can come in and Flamethrower and Weavile can Ice Shard. Seriously, this thing is laughable.
Metagross: Weezing can laugh at his attacks and hit back with Flamethrower, Swampert can take a hit and Earthquake.
Celebi: Snorlax can come in and hit him with Crunch, Weavile can come in on a Calm Mind or Psychic and hit him with a Pursuit or Ice Shard.
Jirachi: I can have Salamence take the Trick to obtain the Choice Scarf and hit back with Fire Blast, or Swampert can take it and hit it with a STAB Earthquake.

Thanks for taking my suggestion on Salamence. One of the reasons why Classical Mixmence is so great right now is Roar on Hippo, which is what most people rely on to beat Sala.

On to the rate...

With all the Close Combats and Superpowers flying around OU, your Snorlax needs some modification. As it is, Curse won't be helping you much, so replace it with Sleep Talk to get a 100% Heatran counter and a great switch-in to stuff like Rotom-A in order to shake the WoW so it won't hurt your physical sweepers. Sleep Talk is to make sure that you can actually do something while asleep, and because Curse isn't so great anymore.

If Suicune worries you, you can try to use a Trick-Scarf Jirachi (physical or special, your pick) over Weavile. I got this idea from analyzing stall teams who use this over Perish Song Celebi to beat the dreaded Crocune. The idea is to use Trick if the Suicune poses problems to you, which effectively shuts down Crocune's power. Other than that, I'll try to think of better checks on Suicune, but it might mean a restructuring.

All in all, you've got most threats covered, and it's nice to see some old-school teams that look like they still work.

Suicune doesn't really worry me, he's just kind of annoying to take down. If he does become a problem later on, I'll try a Physical Trick-Scarf Jirachi.

If I was to change my Snorlax to a RestTalker, should I change his EV's to 244 HP/28 Def/236 SpD? I could see this being a lot more reliable for a Special Wall, but I honestly haven't had a huge problem with special attacks vs. Lax anyways.

Again, thanks for your suggestions. They're fantastic as always :D

IIRC, 244/236/Positive doesn't necessarily save you from any 3HKOs/2HKOs, so you can feel free to experiment with EV spreads. I usually run the standard, though, whenever I use STLax (usually on a tankish team). You probably want to pick two moves from Earthquake, Crunch, and Body Slam. Keep in mind, though, that you can often PP Stall Heatran out of his Fire Blast thanks to Thick Fat, so Earthquake isn't absolutely crucial, but it can be handy if you want to make a quick strike against something.

Personally, I would take Body Slam and Crunch. The paralysis and -Def drops can help out Salamence and the rest of the guys.

Actually, I disagree mtr. Curselax is still quite capable of being a dominant force, especially seeing as Curse allows it to survive those random Close Combats, and in any case, this user also carries Weezing on his team, basically the penultimate fighting counter. To be honest though, I like that Gliscor would be a lot better fit for this team.

Gliscor allows you to take on a lot more threats than Weezing and still be a dominant force. Taunt Gliscor allows you to stop yourself from being set up fodder as well. The only thing i'd be worried about with Gliscor is that you will lose out on more Scizor coverage, but the only attack capable of even coming close to 2HKOing Scizor is Bullet Punch, which Swampert provides a very capable resist for. Swampert also gives you a reasonable Salamence check, something the Gliscor suggestion may also open up. In all though, i am relatively sure your team will find more success with Taunt Gliscor over Weezing.

Gliscor (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP/36 Def/220 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Taunt
- Toxic
- Roost

Taunt and Toxic will give you a huge advantage over stall, and Taunt in general is extremely useful on Gliscor, who is otherwise Spikes fodder to the likes of Skarmory or DD / Roar fodder for Gyarados.

Good luck!

As it is, Curse won't be helping you much...
The point I was trying to make was that on this team, Snorlax may work better as a Sleep Talking Tank rather than a Curser. Rest without Sleep Talk is also a very risky, as giving a free turn to something like Gyarados or Lucario may be dangerous, as sweepers hit a lot harder than they did in RSE or GSC.

This team is pretty Scizor weak, by him taking out Gengar, and Weavile with Bullet Punch, and Super Power KO'ing Snorlax without a Curse. As well as revenge killing Salamence after take lots of damage from Stealth Rocks. Also U-turn does a bunch of damage to Swampert.
I would suggest replacing Energy Ball with Hidden Power [Ice], and putting a Scarf on Gengar so he becomes your revenge killer for Gyrados, and Salamence.

mtr: I'm still playing around with Sleep Talk Lax compared to CurseLax. It's different, but I'm starting to see the advantages of it. If I do choose the RestTalker, I'll go w/ Body Slam and Crunch.

august: I've tried out Gliscor, and he feels sort of awkward on this team compared to Weezing. Lucario completely wrecks my team since most of them carry Ice Punch, which is why I'm packing Weezing. In addition, I generally like Weezing more.

rainxspear: Weezing completely walls out Scizor and I already use Weavile for revenge killing.

I've been pretty successful with this team so far, and I'm fairly happy with it :D I haven't found any major weaknesses so far, but I'm still open to suggestions/criticizm :)
