Girl, he went there - AGAIN! [OU RMT]

INTRODUCTION
When I build a team, my goal is always the same: create a team that has good synergy, while at the same time, using Pokemon I enjoy to use. I've been playing since Red and Blue came out in America, so some of my favorite Pokemon tend to be those of the first generation. That being said, I think I created a rather successful team. I've had fantastic success in Shoddy so far with very few losses. I plan on using this team in WiFi as well as Shoddy, so keep that in mind while rating my team. Thanks!

THE BADASS ANTI-LEAD
461.png

Weavile (Cuddles) @ Focus Sash
Gender: Male
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Pressure
EV Spread: 252 Att/252 Speed/4 HP
Moveset:
- Fake Out
- Taunt
- Night Slash
- Ice Punch
What does he do for my team?
Other than being a total badass and one of my favorite Pokemon, this anti-lead Weavile is pretty handy. First off, he causes an automatic flinch w/ Fake Out, which comes in handy regardless of what the opponent sends out next. Taunt prevents set ups, while Night Slash and Ice Punch help for late game sweeping. I'm thinking about switching out Night Slash for Pursuit, but I'm not sure yet. I'd really appreciate thoughts on this.

THE MIXPERT
260.png

Swampert (Grosz) @ Leftovers
Gender: Male
Nature: Relaxed
Ability: Torrent
EV Spread: 240 HP/216 Def/52 SpA
Moveset:
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
- Earthquake
What does he do for my team?
This over-sized mud fish actually can play a few various roles on my team. For starters, he sets up rocks. Being as rocks are rediculously nessecary in the metagame, this is a pretty big asset. He can act as a mixed wall and mixed sweeper, as well as being able to eliminate dragons such as Salamence, Flygon and (the lesser seen) Dragonite. I could use him as a lead instead of Weavile, but the problem is that I can't switch into Weavile without perfect prediction. However, I can switch into Swampert with ease and can late game sweep with Weavile. With Weavile leading, the synergy of this team is much better as a whole.

THE CURSELAX
143.png

Snorlax (Edvard) @ Leftovers
Gender: Male
Nature: Careful
Ability: Thick Fat
EV Spread:
168 HP / 120 Def / 220 SpD
- Curse
- Rest
- Earthquake
- Crunch
What does he do for my team?
For starters, he's fucking awesome. He takes on the special sweepers that Weavile fears, and can turn into a tank that can obliterate (omfg I love that word) anything after Cursing. Earthquake gets rid of Heatran and other steels, while Crunch gets rid of Ghosts and Psychics.

THE SCOUT/PHYSICAL WALL
134.png

Vaporeon (Reaver) @ Leftovers
Gender: Male
Nature: Bold
Ability: Water Absorb
EV Spread: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SpA
Moveset:
- Hidden Power [Electric]
- Surf
- Wish
- Protect
What does he do for my team?
Vaporeon is primarily a scout on this team using Wish + Protect. To an extent, he can also be used as a physical wall. He gets rid of Gyarados (another pesky Weavile threat) with HP Electric, and Surf is for general stab. Wish can also be used as support when any other team members are low on health. However, I have to avoid Toxic and Burns like the plague in order to stay alive, although I have my Curselax to absorb them.

THE SURPRISING PHYSICAL WALL
110.png

Weezing (Pwnface) @ Leftovers
Gender: Male
Nature: Bold
Ability: Levitate
EV Spread: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SpA
Moveset:
- Flamethrower
- Thunderbolt
- Wil O Wisp
- Pain Split
Why would I ever use this thing in OU?
Alright, most people ask, "Why use Weezing?". Well, I'll tell you. First off, he can take on almost any fighting type with ease and completely ruins Baton Pass teams with Haze. Absolutely nobody expects fighting this thing and most people aren't prepared enough for it. He takes little damage from most physical hits, and can hit back with average special attacks. The only issue with him I have is that I have to avoid special attacks like the plague, but I have Snorlax to handle them.

THE MISCHEVOUS SPECIAL SWEEPER
94.png

Gengar (Hollow) @ Life Orb
Gender: Male
Nature: Timid
Ability: Levitate
EV Spread: 252 SpA/252 Speed/4 HP
Moveset:
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Energy Ball
- Focus Blast
What does he do for my team?
Well, if it isn't painfully obvious, I chose Gengar as my special sweeper. He's always been one of my favorite Pokemon to use, and he's fantastic at what he does. However, I'm finding Focus Blast to become less and less useful. I'm thinking of switching Focus Blast for either Substitute or HP Fire, but I'm not sure if I should. If I do choose one, I'm most likely choosing Substitute. However, I'm generally thinking of using Rotom-C or Rotom-H for more bulk, but I'm not sure if that would be a good idea.

CONCLUSION:
Other than Gengar, I'm generally satisfied with the results from this team. I'd like to thank my friends Wob Marley, Inz, and Carry for supporting my use of Weezing (fuck yeah). Thanks for reading, and I'm open to any comments/suggestions/criticizm. ^_^

Yes! A user of Weezing in OU!

I've often made rates promoting the viability of Weezing in OU (which was well known in DP, but less so now): it's basically a Gliscor that can also beat Gyarados but lacks instant recovery.

Now for the rate:
Weavile is basically insurance against Latias and Salamence (I don't count Dragonite, lol). You may wish to use Swampert as your lead instead, as Weavile's anti-lead job is really in jepoardy with less Azelfs and Aerodactyls around and more Metagrosses and Jirachis. If you jettison Weavile as your lead, give it a Choice Band, which makes it a potent force.

Will-O-Wisp on Weezing. It helps nerf physical attackers further, and Haze is a pretty subpar move in this fast-paced metagame.

Other than that, everything appears to be pretty fine in regards to beating an offensive team. But you practically autolose against a stall team. If you're on Wifi, stall is rare, as matches can take 1.5 hours on wifi against a stall team that would only take 15 minutes on shoddy battle. But on shoddy, stall is there.

Vaporeon isn't doing much on this team, as Weezing can check Gyarados with Thunderbolt anyways. So replace it with a mixed sweeper that can defeat a stall team, such as a Classic Mixmence. Now, I understand that New Mixmence is all the rage nowadays because of Outrage (no pun intended), but here's the thing.

I'm a stall player at heart, and I've found that any good stall team (all of them are structurally the same) can easily handle a New Mixmence. It basically burns itself out with Draco Meteor and Outrage. A Classic Mixmence is terrifying, because it can recover itself with Roost. The moveset is Draco Meteor/Fire Blast/Brick Break/Roost, and Brick Break lets you 2HKO Blissey with the EV's in the analysis.

This doesn't really change your team around much. Vaporeon wasn't helping you to a great extent anyways besides Wish support, so this can help you out more, as stall will beat you even wish Wish (Toxic Spikes and Spikes hurt).

As for Gengar, try to fit in Explosion somewhere for Blissey. Probably over Energy Ball.

This will help your team out against stall and defensive teams, while preserving your well made safety net against offensive teams.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll try out using Swampert as a lead instead of Weavile, but I really don't want to use Salamence. He happens to be one of the Pokemon that is on my personal hate list. >_>;

I'm keeping Energy Ball on Gengar to eliminate Swampert and Suicune. :B However, I could switch Focus Blast for Explosion. o:

Uh, Dragonite can work well over Salamence. You will be using the MixNite set, which can OHKO Blissey with Superpower. Otherwise, it plays just like a Classic Mixmence.

Thunderbolt hits Suicune harder than Energy Ball. But I see Blissey being a bigger problem than Swampert for this team, although both cause you trouble.

Focus Blast...since you can handle Tyranitar, you can try removing it.

Do you often get to set up with Curselax? I always found that a Lum Berry bought you me time to Curse up to the required level to take on Bulky Special attackers like Zapdos and Suicune, and I think it is worth testing, as you may well pull off more sweeps this way. If your Snorlax is mainly just a Special wall I would be of a mind to change Curse to Sleep Talk, and either use the 252 Hp / 262 SpD spread or simply place your current Defense EVs in Attack, giving Snorlax some good neutral power. Also consider Body Slam, as the STAB and Paralysis works well on a Restalker.

I almost always get to set up with my Curselax, so it's never too much of a problem for me. :B I'm not using him mainly as a special wall, but also a physical attacker.

However, I will try out the Lum Berry. o:

I would ditch energy ball on gengar for something else. HP fire can be used to kill scizor as they are a common swith in. He could also get a fast explosion in but i feel HP fire adds better coverage.
Weezing i think is so underestimated. I would have him have will o wisp to weaken and wear down physical hitters pain split to recover and haze stop things setting up. Although people might tell u to get rid of it is one of the most useful moves. After setting up even for just 2 turns there is nothing worse then watching them just go away. The last move I recommned to bolt as alone it has pretty good coverage. And ground switch in won't like will o wisp as like all ground types r physcial attack.
And the mixnite might be a good idea inplace of Vaporeon has it breaks walls and you already have weezing and snorlax for defense
Forsnorlax ditch eq for body slam to get the paralysis which will help ur team.
I would move swampert to ur lead making him have eq ice beam stealth rock and roar. The stealth rock damage will help.
With stealth rocks and burns and possible paralysis hitting you opponent it is weaviles time to shine. Send him in late game and just beat down. The sword dance set is amazing if you can get a sword dance but if you can't as it is hard to do the choice band set will pack a punch.

After some testing, I've found that the Anti-Lead Weavile works better than a lead Swampert.

Also, I've had a lot of trouble with Mixnite. I've found myself to be losing more often with Mixnite than Vaporeon. Am I doing something wrong, or should I find another mixed attacker (preferably something other than Salamence, but I will use it if it's the only thing >_>; )?

For a mixed sweeper/wall breaker, I would try out Physically Based Infernape, with

Naive/Hasty
252 Atk, 64 Spa, 192 Spe
Overheat
Close Combat
U-Turn/Mach Punch
Stone Edge/Mach Punch

Overheat and Close Combat OHKO SkarmBliss respectivley, and U-Turn and Stone Edge give good coverage. Though I would consider using Mach Punch to help kill SD Lucario who can give you problems, and even Empoleon with agility. Use this ape in place of Vaporeon, or Weavile and move Swampert to lead. Hope I helped! Good luck

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try that out ^^ However, would TyraniBoah be a better choice? He has Substitute, and that could help set ups w/ Curselax, and he's just bulkier in general. :B

Go 252 HP / 252 Def on Swampert: Garchomp's no longer here, so you can go max/max. Put the remaining 4 EVs in SAtk.

Yeah, but I might have to switch into a special attacker w/ Swampert, which is why he's mixed. :B I have Weezing in case of physical attacks.

Mentioning this, I realized if I replace Vaporeon with a wall breaker, it leaves me extremely Infernape weak. Is there any way I could have a wall breaker that won't leaveme Infernape weak?

pretty good team, some suggestions might be to get rid of energy ball and replace it with hp-fire or explosion, or put will o wisp on weezing, other than that good team and good luck! :)
