Glastrier is a niche wallbreaker on Ice teams thanks to its natural bulk, good matchup against Poison-types and threats like Celesteela, and monstrous Attack. However, it faces serious competition from Arctozolt and Galarian Darmanitan due to its abysmal Speed and inability to wallbreak efficiently without setup. Substitute eases predictions for Glastrier, makes it immune to status from slower Pokemon like Toxapex, Amoonguss, and Ferrothorn, and lets it use passive Pokemon like Pelipper and Celesteela as setup fodder. Icicle Crash and High Horsepower have great coverage against most defensive cores, with the latter providing crucial coverage against opposing Steel- and Fire-types like Klefki and Torkoal. The given EV spread outpaces Celesteela while retaining as much bulk as possible.

Teammates like Kyurem appreciate Glastrier dealing with or weakening walls such as Galarian Slowking, Celesteela, and Tyranitar. In return, Kyurem breaks past physically defensive walls such as Slowbro and Rotom-W. Alolan Ninetales is an excellent teammate that provides extra setup opportunities with Aurora Veil and deals with Fighting-types like Urshifu-R and Kommo-o. With Bolt Beak and Freeze-Dry, Arctozolt pressures common Glastrier checks like Slowbro, Tapu Fini, and Quagsire. Cloyster is an essential teammate for removing entry hazards with Rapid Spin; primarily Stealth Rock; and setting up Spikes. Fast teammates like Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan and Weavile can check foes like Zeraora, Victini, and Blacephalon for Glastrier. Additionally, Weavile can clean up types such as Flying late-game once Celesteela has been worn down or eliminated. Mamoswine threatens Steel- and Fire-types like Heatran, Volcanion, and Aegislash and can revenge kill Pokemon like Galarian Zapdos and Dragapult with Ice Shard. Piloswine provides Stealth Rock support and puts Rotom-W on a timer with Toxic while dealing with the likes of Tapu Koko, Regieleki, and Alolan Raichu.

A more offensive set with maximum Attack and Speed EVs alongside an Adamant nature can wallbreak more efficiently and outpace Aegislash and Clefable, although it is generally inferior to the bulky set since it can no longer use Swords Dance against opponents like Celesteela and Corviknight harboring super effective coverage.

While Glastrier possesses an inadequate Speed stat, the fact remains that it's a great option on Ice teams as a stallbreaker wallbreaker (The difference is that wallbreakers break fat Pokemon through brute force, whereas stallbreakers beat them through chip damage and status, notably Toxic and Taunt. Glastrier is a wallbreaker with a good matchup into Poison, which you could mention). Substitute allows Glastrier to use opponents like Toxapex and Amoonguss as setup fodder due to their dependency on spreading status ailments (I'd rephrase this to say Sub makes it immune to status, which turns Pex and Shrooms into setup fodder just because this way the reader knows that sub is good into all status spreaders that are slow). Additionally, it prevents Ferrothorn lacking Gyro Ball or Body Press from negating Glastrier's Leftovers with Leech Seed. Glastrier can take advantage of Substitute using Swords Dance to further boost its impressive Attack stat and break past foes it would usually have issues against such as Corviknight, Lanturn, and Tyranitar. (mention that substitue also eases prediction) Icicle Crash grants Glastrier the ability to flinch (this is sorta dex info) and deal heavy damage against Pokémon like Garchomp, Cradily, and Tornadus-T. High Horsepower is crucial against opposing Steel- and Fire-types like Klefki, Torkoal, and Victini slowed-down by V-Create. The given EV spread allows Glastrier to outpace Celesteela and defensive Tyranitar while retaining as much bulk as possible.

Teammates like Kyurem and Rotom-F (Rotom-F is garbo) appreciate Glastrier checking specially defensive walls such as Galarian Slowking, Gastrodon, and Chansey. Furthermore, Glastrier provides counter play to bulky Water-types like Toxapex and Slowking as it uses Substitute without an issue against them. In return, Kyurem is an excellent teammate as it breaks common Glastrier checks like Slowbro, Incineroar, and Tapu Fini. Alolan Ninetales is capable of setting up Aurora Veil to make Glastrier's Substitute even bulkier, giving give (I know what you're trying to say, but this is wrong phrasing because the sub doesn't actually become bulkier, the damage done to it is just reduced, *effectivley* making it bulkier) Glastrier more opportunities to setup Swords Dance. Arctozolt checks threats like Slowbro, Tapu Fini, and Quagsire Araquanid with Bolt Beak and Freeze-Dry. Cloyster aids in heavily denting the opposing team as well as being the primary answer to Fire-types like Heatran, Victini, and Cinderace once set up. Galarian Darmanitan checks Steel-types such as Excadrill, Heatran, and Aegislash using coverage like Flare Blitz and Earthquake. It also cleans up late-game after Glastrier has weakened the opponent's walls. Glastrier appreciates Weavile's support in removing important held items off of Pokemon like Porygon2, Corviknight, and Celesteela. Mamoswine and Piloswine provide Stealth Rock and an Electric-type immunity against threats like Regieleki, Tapu Koko, and Alolan Raichu.

Close Combat is an excellent option for Glastrier as it does more damage to opponents like Tyranitar and Ferrothorn, however, it leaves Glastrier susceptible to Toxapex and weakens the Substitute. A more offensive set with 252 Attack and Speed EVs alongside a Jolly or Adamant nature can be beneficial to wallbreak more efficiently, although, it is preferred to have enough bulk to reliably use Swords Dance. (use SD infront of what? You can mention again what the evs are for)

While Glastrier possesses an inadequate Speed stat, the fact remains that it's a great option on Ice teams as a wallbreaker (Its not great at all, it faces "competition" on a slot with Zolt, G.Darm, and even Kyu which all bring more damage/immediacy to the table than it). Substitute eases predictions for Glastrier and makes it immune to status moves from slower Pokemon like Toxapex, Amoonguss, and Ferrothorn. Glastrier can take advantage of Substitute using Swords Dance to further boost its impressive Attack stat in front of passive Pokemon such as Pelipper and Celesteela Crobat (infiltrator Toxic), allowing it to break past foes it would usually have issues against such as Corviknight, Lanturn, and Tyranitar (Lanturn and TTar are weird examples as TTar you do break (and this is one of the upsides Glast actually has over Kyurem-except G.Darm also does this and be actually fast too)). Icicle Crash grants Glastrier the ability to deal heavy damage against Pokémon like Garchomp, Cradily, and Tornadus-T (These Pokemon are quite random, its probably for the best to just generalize that Glastrier breaks most defensive cores because HHP+Crash hits most of those). High Horsepower is crucial against opposing Steel- and Fire-types like Klefki, Torkoal, and Victini slowed down by V-Create (I'm pretty sure Glast isnt outspeeding Victini, though Klefki is a neat mention because you can sub on it...assuming it doesnt twave you). The given EV spread allows Glastrier to outpace Celesteela and defensive Tyranitar while retaining as much bulk as possible.

Teammates like Kyurem appreciate Glastrier checking specially defensive walls such as Galarian Slowking, Gastrodon, and Chansey (This sentence is false, as Kyurem beats Gastrodon via Freeze Dry and PP stalls Chansey for most part). Furthermore, Glastrier provides counterplay to bulky Water-types like Toxapex and Slowking as it uses Substitute without an issue against them (Kyurem does this too though???). In return, Kyurem is an excellent teammate as it breaks common Glastrier checks like Slowbro, Incineroar, and Tapu Fini (Incineroar is uncommon, while Tapu Fini has a verry narrow chance to beat SubRoost Kyu 1v1. These examples are bad. Kyurem appreciates Glast's ability to handle Celes though, letting it terrorize Flying teams further with its main check [Celes] gone). Alolan Ninetales is capable of setting up Aurora Veil to give Glastrier more opportunities to set up Swords Dance. Arctozolt checks threats like Slowbro, Tapu Fini, and Quagsire with Bolt Beak and Freeze-Dry. Cloyster aids in heavily denting the opposing team as well as being the primary answer to Fire-types like Heatran, Victini, and Cinderace (Cloy here probably is a rapid spinner.). Galarian Darmanitan checks Steel-types such as Excadrill, Heatran, and Aegislash using coverage like Flare Blitz and Earthquake (it doesnt check, and Steel vs G.Darm is actually quite poor, as G.Darm gets scouted with protect). It also cleans up late-game after Glastrier has weakened the opponent's walls. Glastrier appreciates Weavile's support in removing important held items off of Pokemon like Porygon2, Corviknight, and Celesteela (Weavile is used as speed control for Ice teams usually). Mamoswine and Piloswine provide Stealth Rock and an Electric-type immunity against threats like Regieleki, Tapu Koko, and Alolan Raichu.

Sorry for the delay but Giyu please recheck and try out Ice teams w/ glastrier sometime, the examples and reasonings are a little bit off this time

Here are ancient replays with Glastrier where it actually did stuff. Ngl SS Mono Ice doesnt use him anymore due to Zolt-kun, making this entire analysis hard to justify.

Glastrier is a niche wallbreaker on Ice teams due to it's coverage in High Horsepower (mostly due to bulk and a little nicer matchup vs poison and Celes at the same time) and monstrous Attack stat, however, it faces serious competition from Arctozolt and Galarian Darmanitan due to it's abysmal speed stat (and both break stuff immediately vs Glast needing SD to start doing stuff). Substitute eases predictions for Glastrier and makes it immune to status moves from slower Pokemon like Toxapex, Amoonguss, and Ferrothorn. Glastrier is able to use passive Pokemon like Pelipper and Celesteela as setup fodder by taking advantage of Substitute's protection to use Swords Dance. Icicle Crash in conjunction with High Horsepower allows Glastrier to break past most defensive cores. High Horsepower is crucial against opposing Steel- and Fire-types like Klefki and Torkoal. The given EV spread allows Glastrier to outpace Celesteela and defensive Tyranitar while retaining as much bulk as possible.

Teammates like Kyurem appreciate Glastrier's checking ability to deal with or weaken walls such as Galarian Slowking, Celesteela, and Tyranitar. In return, Kyurem breaks past Physically defensive walls such as Glastrier threats like Slowbro and Rotom-W. Alolan Ninetales is capable of setting up Aurora Veil to give Glastrier more opportunities to set up Swords Dance (+ deals with Fighting-types like Urshifu-R which bonk you). Arctozolt checks pressures threats like Slowbro, Tapu Fini, and Quagsire with Bolt Beak and Freeze-Dry. Cloyster is essential for removing entry hazards off the field with Rapid Spin, primarily Stealth Rock (And can also set entry hazards too). Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan checks faster threats like Galarian Zapdos (Is usually scarfed, get a diff example), Victini, and Cinderace. It also cleans up late-game after Glastrier has weakened the opponent's walls (The opposing team might be better?). Glastrier appreciates Weavile's speed control as it outpacing es threats such as Blacephalon, Jirachi, and Spectrier with a Choice Scarf set. In return, Weavile threatens to clean types such as Flying late-game once Celesteela has been worn down or eliminated. Mamoswine and Piloswine provide Stealth Rock and an Electric-type immunity against threats like Regieleki, Tapu Koko, and Alolan Raichu. (separate these 2 mons, Pilo is a bulky thing, while Mamo is more of an attacker)

Close Combat is an excellent option for Glastrier as it does more damage to opponents like Tyranitar and Ferrothorn, however, it leaves Glastrier susceptible to Toxapex and weakens the Substitute. A more offensive set with 252 Attack and Speed EVs alongside a Jolly or Adamant nature can be beneficial to wallbreak more efficiently, although, it is preferred to have enough bulk to reliably use Swords Dance against opponents like Celesteela and Corviknight harboring super-effective coverage.
