Gliscor

really using Gliscor as a physical wall requires 236 defense or at least thats what i like to run. Because without it Gliscor does get hurt....As for movesets I like to run Earthquake, Icefang, Taunt, and Swordance/Facade/Substitute. The rational being Swordance so it can beat some of its counter and Substitute does the same thing as protect just better...

What is 236 Def meant to survive? If u have such a specific EV there should be a pretty major reason besides "I want more bulk" like say surviving a 2HKO from pokemon X's attack Y.

I commonly use protect to heal up health to take hits and stall, at the same time, substitute can't do that at all.

This, Protect essentially means you heal a Lot of the damage you just took allowing gliscor to last that much longer.

He probably means 236 defense evs, and to be honest you don't need to have an fantastic reason to run much speed on Gliscor. I personally run just enough speed to outspeed nuetral 252 Breloom and Politoed (240 speed, 56 speed evs), the only thing I lose from the standard set is outspeeding Jolly 252 Tyranitar (does not exist) and speed creep afterwards which I couldn't care less about.

Gilscor runs a fine Sub+Protect set, particularly with toxic spikes up.

Even though a good portion of the metagame is immune, as long as you can break excadrill's balloon and trap lati@s/skarm/ferrothorn, he can stall out basically the rest of the metagame.

Sub + Protect is great for stalling, but I personally don't want to lose out on the enormous utility of Taunt. Taunt prevents Gliscor from becoming a huge set-up bait and allows it to break stall.

you can run a stall set WITH toxic spikes that looks like this:

-sub
-protect
-eq
-taunt

That set is walled by thirteen members of OU (between 1/4 and 1/3 of the tier). Anything airborne walls that set, which usually means at least one and possibly more members of a team. Give anything a balloon and your Gliscor can't do anything to it.

yes it is.

Sorry if that sounded like stating the obvious, I was just trying to point out that I don't think that's the most effective use of Gliscor. It just seems like you're trying to do too much at the same time and ending up walled by too much for it to be viable, at least IMO.

if you use him in sandstorm, you CAN actually stall out some of those 13 pokes...

all but bronzong and skarmory.

16 turns for a poke to die, and you have 32 pps of sub and protect to work with. this changes if youre against latias with recover, of course, or a poke with leftovers.

the few pokemon that is stalled is scarf/specs/life orb rotom-w, life orb/expert belt/specs/scarf hydreigon, and life orb/specs latios.

Unfortunately, that set would lose to Conkeldurr anyways, since Gliscor hits like a pussy. Conk can just BU on the switchin and beat it down with Payback. The only ones on that list that you would ever send Gliscor into are Mienshao and Terrakion. Mienshao isn't nearly as common as Conkeldurr, and Terrakion will almost always be running a strict physical set, if not, its probably even easier to check than before, since its SpA is laughable.

Gah.... So many different gliscor methods.... I think I'm just going to keep what I have. I'm too confused. Sorry.

I run a Swords Dance/Facade/EQ/Aerial Ace set to catch people off guard. Against better players, they tend to overpredict expecting taunt/Protect, allowing me to hit hard and fast. shits all over Conkledurr ;)

Just the set I've used in rotation with a protect/Toxic set.

Taunt + EQ already shits all over Conkeldurr. There is really no reason to be running Aerial Ace over Taunt/Protect.

Taunt would be better over AA

Sub, Protect, AND Taunt on the same set is overkill. You should specialize your Gliscor toward beating Offense with Sub/Protect, or Stall with Taunt/SD. Trying to beat both with one Gliscor set is not going to happen.

Hey, anyone can give me a good Lead set without using Poison Orb/Poison Heal? I tried the Adamant one with Sand Veil, but I really felt I would rather Lead with a full defensive Gliscor than a full offensive one, so yeah.

It probably needs to go with U-turn and Protect, maybe Taunt. The first one for scouting, the second one to safely activate the orb, and the third one to prevent hazards from going up. However, stuff like Swampert might just Ice Beam you anyway.
