Metagame Godly Gift

That's a pretty great team, but wouldn't Crobat rather have Infiltrator over Inner Focus? Unless you really hate Fake Out or Serene Grace hax, I don't see any reason why it would run Inner Focus
Good point, I just forgot to set that it team building. Yes, Crobat should run Inner Focus

(By the way how do I put pokemon images into my post? I know how to do images in general, just not where people get animated pokemon images from.)

OM! Used Sacred Ash on Godly Gift!
“Godly Gift and it’s contributors were revived and full restored!”

Voting stage for OMOTM is starting today. This game deserves lots of credit for its history.

One concept to consider would be how powerful threats like Eevee can benefit from HP coming from Giratina. It can survive many hits and then abuse Stored Power.

We are 1 vote away from a tie for Other Metagame of the Month, and the victory feels within our grasp!

To commemorate, let’s focus on how our metagame can view impacted changes since the last time it won (before USUM). For example who would have known Kommo-o with its Z-move Canglorious Soulblaze could be viewed as overpowered?

Imagine putting it in the SpA slot off of an Uber like Hoopa-Unbound with 170 Special Attack. Not only would it hit hard, but it would gain the +1 boosts for all stats. Where is Prankster Haze when you need it?

While that certainly adds to the “fighting spirit” of a Fighting/Dragon Type, does that mean we have to carry a fairy type just to stop it from setting up? Thoughts?

Kommo certainly has alot of potential with its new broken z move and coverage, with new higher spa or speed it can very easily sweep teams thanks to its great spammable stabs and coverage on both sides (clanging scales/focus blast/flash cannon/flamethrower hits everything)

To reignite discussion i will discuss some new interesting mons in the meta since the last shift i havent seen mentioned

Recievers:

Is a pretty interesting mon

On Arceus offense, it can be a bulky tr monster on the HP with 120/211/101 bulk and 131 attack. Itd be a really good anti offense mon with its nuke 120bp gyro balls and excellent bulk
252 Atk Deoxys Superpower vs. 252 HP / 0- Def Stakataka: 348-412 (78.3 - 92.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
i could see it landing in B+

It got alot of great options now has excellent options like Stealth Rock, Swords Dance, Photon Geyser, Earth Power, Knock Off, Heat Wave..etc

Its a great lead and is an amazing set up sweeper thanks to photon geyser ignoring abilities
i could see this being ranked B+ and being used on offense on the speed/attack slot thanks to its versatility

This mon got a really cool option in defog, i can see it bump up in viability on balance on the Defense slot thanks to being a great role compressor (a fairy type, has huge spdef, a defogger, cleric) i could see it land on A-

Also since its probably gonna be a hugely different metagame ill dump some teams i used to peak the ladder with

This team is pretty much a ct to all the old deoxys offense that was around, rain is self explanatory. Great vs offense, okay vs balance and bad vs stall

Doublade was a great glue and counter to psychic spam, it could switch in on hugely threatening mons like Pinsir, Heracross, Serperior, Deoxys a, Tapu Lele, Swellow and Tapu Bulu with ease and easily sweep late game

Lele was my stallbreaker which worked pretty nicely vs hard stall, less so vs fat balance

Crobat was nice for some speed control outside of rain, and a good ground immunity + grass countermeasure. It also helps with the fat team matchup thanks to poison immunity + taunt

Others are self explanatory, kyogre is rain setter, swampert clicks buttons and kingdra clicks nukes like this
252+ SpA Choice Specs Kingdra Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Arceus-Water in Rain: 210-248 (47.2 - 55.8%) -- 78.5% chance to 2HKO

I like your way of thinking! Now pair it with Sandstream and you have sky-high Special Defense!

Eviolite users are always a fun defensive or bulky offensive option, and your Doublade is a great example of a bulky offensive threat, especially with that unique Ghost / Steel typing! Watch out, it packs priority!

For Rock-types, Sandstream only adds to their Special Defensive capabilties! Give Rhydon with Eviolite Lugia's Special Defense, add Sandstream and now Rhydon is one of the best Special walls possible.

I have to say, I love the weather based team, it's a good way to capitalize on Swampert-Mega's capabilities, from Ability, to stats.

Just out of curiosity, are Blissey and Chansey banned from the God slot?

Never mind, I'm assuming not, since you'd have to put it in the HP slot, and therefore can't gift HP.

They’re just banned in general
Yep.

For anyone wondering on Pokémon with already good HP to receive Defense boosts, the next best option for high HP inheritance (received not gifted) would be Munchlax for the sake of Eviolite and the same typing, (and only 1 weakness).

Rhydon works to boost Special Defense as its Defense is already high, but Munchlax can be used to gain Defense and make use of its decent Special Defense to make it bulkier than even Lugia’s Special Defense.
