Introduction

Hello guys and welcome to my second RMT, so im BROStime you guys probably dont know me because im usually lurking around in NU. But anyway, this is a sun team ive been working on, as I cant stand the ladder for the moment I dont have any impressive ladder peaks or so. But this team has been doing great for me, as sun usually have problems with rain (this team has that as well, but to an extent) I think I managed to counter it well enough. So when I usually build teams in OU I build them so they can break down the opposing weather but also covering the threaths in this tier, which is a lot. I am an pretty offensive player which is one off the reasons I picked sun, the other reason is that I want to build some revolutionary just as Lavos Spawn did, but I clearly think this will be any close too that lol :_. Also with all the Genesun and GeneTrio in OU I felt like I wouldnt use it on my team, not because I dont like it but because I felt to use something else. Anyway not much more to say than have a nice time reading this RMT, ill do this as good as I can for you guys, and yeah lets begin.

Team Analysis

leftovers.png

NINETALES @ Leftovers
Trait: Drought
EVs: 136 HP | 252 SAtk | 120 Spd
Nature: Modest (+SAtk, -Atk)
Moveset: Fire Blast | Solarbeam | Sunny Day | Protect

So lets start off with Ninetales my weather inducer, so Ninetales is a pretty good pokemon, its STAB is pretty strong in sun and paired with Solarbeam it has pretty decent coverage. Anyway, Sunny Day are there for Polotoed switch ins which is pretty cool as this will nearly always give me the switch advantage which can be crusial sometimes. You guys probably wonder why Protect ? well as Ninetales are weak to a lot off common threaths, it can scout for what move the opposing threath will go for (have in mind that I will only do this against scarfers or too scout a Politoed set) this works out great as it gives me momentum, and let me having an easier time predict which is important for an offensive team.

leftovers.png

FORRETRESS @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP | 252 SpD | 4 Def
Nature: Careful (+SpD, -SAtk)
Moveset: Earthquake | Volt Switch | Rapid Spin | Stealth Rock

Next up is Forretress, this uhm thing is pretty damn awesome with amazing typing and great defenses, the reason for this guy catching a place on this team is because off Rapid Spin, Stealth Rock and Volt Switch. This thing has everything (lol) it has momentum, it has hazards and it can even remove hazards. This is great, as Forretress works like medicine for Ninetales helping it too live through the match and let me have my weather up. Also Earthquake might be a bit redundant, but I can change it for Gyro ball to hit faster threaths and get my Rapin Spin off slower than none Gyro Ferrothorn, but Earthquake is quite nice against the likes off Magnezone switch ins.

LATIAS @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP | 252 Spd | 4 SAtk
Nature: Timid (+Spd, -Atk)
Moveset: Dragon Pulse | Hidden Power [Fire] | Calm Mind | Roost

Latias is amazing its a lot underused in this tier, and I can see why because Latios is pretty damn amazing. But Latias is here over Latios for an reason and that is great bulk, and because its cuter :3 The calm mind set is probably the best set Latias has for now, with great defense and speed she can easely sweep late game when those pesky Heatrans are gone. Also Latias works great as a rain counter taking Hydros like a boss, this is pretty good as she can easely begin to set up on pokemon that are locked into a move.

shedshell.png

HEATRAN @ Shed Shell
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk | 252 Spd | 4 HP
Nature: Timid (+Spd, -Atk)
Moveset: Magma Storm | Solarbeam | Sunny Day | Earth Power

Here comes Heatran! My trapper, most sun teams carry an trapper and this is mine. The thing with Heatran is that its amazing taking Fire and Dragon attacks all day long, with decent coverage and Sunny Day for the same reason Ninetails has it (Im lazy I know..) this guy can rape like a train, its not only hitting hard and walling things hard, but its also an Heatran counter as Heatran can be bitch to my team, Earth Power hits opposing Heatran's hard and will take it down to a breaking point where I can take it out with Latias late game, which also is helping Lilligant and Ninetails a lot during the match.

lifeorb.png

LILLIGANT @ Life Orb
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 SAtk | 252 Spd | 4 HP
Nature: Timid (+Spd, -Atk)
Moveset: Sleep Powder | Giga Drain | Hidden Power [Ice] | Quiver Dance

Lilligant is amazing as an lead, because it can easely shut down the opposing weather starter bar Abomasnow which is rare. Also when shutting the opposing weather starter down everything gets a lot easier as I will gain the advantage in the weather war, with Giga Drain and HP Ice this hot plant is gonna rape, as long your not called Heatran.. Also why im using Lilligant over Venusaur, is because Lilligant can sweep without Sun up, yes Quiver Dance is awesome and Venusaur cant do that. Also Lilligant has better surprise factor than Venusaur, due that Lilligant is pretty rare in OU which I find weird as Lilligant is an awesome Sun abuser.

choicescarf.png

LANDORUS @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Force
EVs: 252 Atk | 252 Spd | 4 SAtk
Nature: Naive (+Spd, -SpD)
Moveset: Earthquake | Stone Edge | Hidden Power [Ice] | U-Turn

So heres my last pokemon Landorus, this guy is a freaking beast and rapes Gliscor which is cool. But the main job for Landorus is too revenge kill those annoying dragons like Moxie Salamence and DDnite, some other things that is pretty cool is that this guy walls Terrakion which is just great, and EdgeQuake gains a boost in sand which is always good. Landorus is a great pokemon for sun teams, and I really hope to see this guy on other sun teams in the future, it also has U-Turn so it can gain momentum with Forretress which is really crucial for any offensive team, as long you can predict every singel thing your opponent is gonna do and switch like a boss. Not needed that is what Landorus is here for, momentum and sheer power.

Closing Words

Thank you for reading my RMT, and I hoped you enjoyed it as much I enjoyed making it ! I wont make threath list as I am pretty lazy and yeah lol.
So comment, luvdisc, hate do whatever you want ill see you guys later bye ! :)

I will change Ninetails speed evs so it outspeeds jolly mammo also giving gyro ball on forretress will help didnt notice my huge mammo weakness until now ..

A 8anded terrakion really can hurt you and its far two common a threat to simply disreguard. Id switch your set on Latias to Tank Latias. This change will allow you to tank hits easier whilst at the same time having huge offensive presence with your STA8 attacks.
Id change forretress's ev spread to a more rounded defensive set. Latias will tank most specail hits that arnt SE damage, so forretress can utalise some of his naturally high defence stats.

To conclude

Latias @ Life Or8
timid
252 hp/ 252 spe/ 4 spa
- draco
-hp fire
- psyshock
- recover

sorry its a short rate, im sleepy, hope this helps

hi there,

pretty cool sun team you got here, with a nice use of lilligant. but yeah, like most sun teams, you are pretty reliant on your weather, but you also have a decent matchup against other weather teams with shed shell heatran and scarf landorus for sand. the main thing i noticed was ninetales' role on this team. i noticed you were using an offensive set which is really outclassed by heatran on this team, and i don't think it's all that necessary given heatran does everything ninetales does but better, while also supporting the bulk to set up sunny day whereas offensive ninetales really doesn't. to help with your weather problems, i think a specially defensive ninetales would be better over your current set, as it really does provide you with that extra longevity you want in a weather inducer. shift the special atk evs over to special defense and run a calm nature, you may also want to try either of roar / toxic on there somewhere, mainly for volcarona as the offensive set seems to cause you a lot of trouble. main thing here is that it provides you with a buffer for stray scalds and volt switches, that your other team members really won't want to switch into.

another thing that i also picked up on was the inefficiency of your lilligant's ev spread. i think you could change it to actually outspeed everything relevant. a spread of 72 def / 248 satk / 188 spe and a modest for lilligant would be optimal, as with modest you regain some of the power you lose if you choose to go with specially defensive ninetales, while modest over timid provides you essentially the same ev spread but more efficient in terms of bulk. 72 defense evs allows you to live a mamoswine ice shard / scizor bullet punch, either of which are common attempts to mitigate lilligant's attempt at a sweep. being able to live means your sweep is saved and can often turn matches around as priority is a very common way to deal with chlorophyll boosters. 188 speed beats everything up to scarf base 130s under rain which is all you really need, while you still outspeed stuff like jolly breloom and specs politoed when not under rain. the rest goes into special attack for offensive capabilities.

you also described how you have big problems with mamoswine, but terrakion is also something that looks very threatening. sdef forretress without gyro ball is not an answer to terrakion or mamoswine, and terrakion can even use you as setup fodder if you face a sub sd set. i'd recommend you run a physically defensive set rather than a specially defensive set, to help with these physical attackers you lack an answer for. this change goes in tandem with the sdef ninetales change, as ninetales provides you with a good special wall while you can afford to change forretress over to a physically defensive set. you could also try gyro ball somewhere on forretress's set to help with terrakion / mamoswine / other random physical scarfers that forretress will be likely to switch in on.

overall, pretty cool sun team. there are a couple problems but the same is with most sun teams (dragons, weather, etc) but these can mostly be played around. alternative changes could be using sr on something else and a different spinner to combat rain, but idk if that's necessary if you play latias smart. you might also want to bump latias's speed down a little to 240 to beat base 108s as hp fire means you cannot speed tie with base 110s due to being forced to run 30 speed ivs. this is just preference though, a speed tie with other hp fire latias / gengar maybe be important in some matches.

good luck!

Thanks for the rates guys, I find them really helpful and yes Specially defensive Ninetales could be good, also gyro balla and max defense makes perfect sense so I will be sure to try it out !
