y is able to switch moves though.
Yeah and reliably run Solarbeam, and doesn't require outside support which is a huge help. Even if normal Charizard can hit just a little harder if everything is going 100% perfectly Y is just more versatile and more reliable and doesn't have to switch out if nearly any water type switches into it since it can just counter with solarbeam. Plus Heliolisk probably does the whole Choice Specs + Solar Power thing better due to its far better speed tier and ability to switch into stealth rocks more than twice (very useful for something wearing choice specs).

I've been using this ass a F-W-G core and it works very well together. Heatran can easily switch out to Mega Venusaur to take and fighting moves and Rotom for any ground moves. With Thick Fat and added bulk, Mega Venusaur shrugs off fire and ice-type moves and to be even more careful switching into either Rotom or Heatran works as they resists both types. Heatran can endure any Psychic moves and Flying as well and Rotom also easily handles Flying. With Heatran and Mega Venusaur, Rotom isn't worrying about an incoming grass attacks and about mold breaker EQs isn't a problem as Venusaur's bulk let's it eat EQs.

Heatran (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 8 Def / 248 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Toxic
- Lava Plume
- Roar
- Protect

Venusaur (F) @ Venusaurite
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Synthesis
- Sleep Powder
- Sludge Bomb
- Giga Drain

Rotom (Rotom-W) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 20 Def / 236 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Pain Split
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
I really like this core, and plan to run it on Battle Spot when Pokebank and Heatran is released. I have changed around items due to item clause (such as ChestoRest Rotom-W), and depending on how common Mold Breaker Excadrill becomes (and how problematic he proves to be as Venusaur SHOULD be able to handle him) I may run Balloon on Heatran, but that has yet to be seen. They are also focused more on Defense as the meta isn't very special based. I'm forced to run Toxic on M-Venusaur for it's guaranteed hit against evasion abusers, although that's not an issue in PS. But the three should definitely make a great team.

While I do run SolarBeam on Zard Normal, Fire Blast 2HKOs Rotom and even 4X resists like Kingdra and Barbaracle on the switch, assuming Sun and Specs. He's incredibly powerful, and Sun is relatively easy to keep up because of the lack of opposing weather in this Meta, so I've had no problem at all using SolarBeam. I have Venusaur for Grass moves if I really can't rely on SolarBeam, anyway. The sheer force (pun intended) that Charizard brings more than makes up for me being locked into one move. The only thing that walls me is Heatran, and I have Focus Blast for a predicted switch in, anyway. Also, Helioisk lacks Pseudo STAB, so I feel that Charizard is the better candidate.

Yes, but the sun that Charizard-Y brings, the support it provides, and CharY's ability to switch moves all make it a much better Pokemon overall than standard Charizard. Yes, Specs + Solar Power + Sun hit incredibly hard, but he's also locked, which means he'll have to switch out. Charizard doesn't like switching because of Stealth Rock (they've got less use because of Defog, but they're still going to be present this metagame, don't you worry) and his general lackluster bulk.

Sure, regular Charizard, under the conditions you applied, is more powerful than its Mega-counterparts, but seeing as a Pokemon should also be able to support its team (you have five other Pokemon, one of which loves the sun), Charizard-Y ultimately outclasses it.

I'm using Charizard to break walls. I don't need another Sun Setter. Blastoise is too important to this team's success, so I can't run Y, anyway. And Y can switch moves, true, but that ability to kill Dragonite and Blissey/Chansey. So satisfying. :)

Not only are you running regular charizard, but that also means ninetales. Two seriously underwhelming pokemon when they face any kind of adversity to their weather. Or Terrakion. Seeing as Tyranitar is probably even bigger and more important in this meta seems like a risky game to me.

This is a bulky offense core I'm really interested in right now using two physical threats that I think are the real deal in today's meta with a defensive pivot to protect them and regain momentum.

Conkeldurr@Assault Vest
Ability:Guts
EVs: 252 Att / 252 SpD Adamant
-Drain Punch
-Mach Punch
-Stone Edge
-Knock Off

Ice Punch is less necessary on Conkeldurr with an hp ice landorus, but sometimes I miss it. Especially against gliscor, but again that's what Lando-T is for. Ice Punch vs. Stone Edge is definitely a toss up and comes down to what you struggle with more butI like being able to hit talonflame on the switch and maim CharizarY that would otherwise cause this core massive headaches. Thunderpunch is another option although I don't think it OHKOs CHarY. I've been considering dropping mach punch for the added coverage. Most opponents expect mach punch and will play around it meaning the extra coverage could be great. I would definitely look to add an elemental punch. Maybe thunder and ice instead of mach punch and stone edge.

Bisharp@Assault Vest
Ability:Defiant
EVs: 168 Hp / 252 Att / 88 Spe Adamant
-Pursuit
-Sucker Punch
-Knock Off
-Iron Head

This Bisharp is my baby. The ev's are to outspeed uninvested Togekiss and kill it with ironhead before aura sphere. God help it if it uses dazzling gleam, and it does a bit more than half at most with flamethrower. I was thinking about going faster for minimum speed Rotom but then you definitely start sacrificing bulk for speed in a matchup that bisharp doesn't want to fight anyways. It's a different story if you run a cleric as this thing is really scary when you don't mind eating a wisp or thunderwave and knocking off their item.

The number of Latios and Latias this thing has murdered is stupid. No one expects the pursuit. Aegislash can be taken care of but of course watch out for sacred sword. If you run a ghost on your team it is much less likely to lead with sacred sword making bisharp a great switch in, especially to the mixed sets. Fully physical ones can be left to lando-T. THis thing can tango with any special attacker without a strong fire, fighting or ground move. That's a lot of the special attackers in the meta right now. Conk handles the ones that bisharp can't, like gengar, hydriegon, landorus, thundurus-T (although this can be sucker punched to death after rocks), CharY, heatran and I'm sure I'm missing some others as well as being a great switch into the rotom-w that bisharp attracts.

I'm sure I will get flack for not running the swords dance set but this is just a completely different mon. I'm not trying to achieve what that set wants to achieve. With mega luke so popular, and ground and fire being very common move types I don't like the idea of sweeping with this thing especially when it relies on sucker punch to make up for that speed. This bisharp is more of an assassin early game, getting a pursuit kill so often, and then later on can be used as a conkeldurr-lite. I will often send Bisharp on a suicidal run after it gets a kill to soften things up if nothing else seems necessary for Bisharp to trap or threaten. knock off and its surprising amount of bulk help this function a lot. Bisharp feasts on all of the psychics and special flyers that conkeldurr attracts and can soften up/ kill the faeries that scare him.

Landorus-Therian@Leftovers
Ability:Intimidate
EVs: This one I'm not sure about. I've been running 252 Hp / 168 Def / 88 Spe with Naive I believe to outpace certain things. I can't remember though and there is probably a better spread.
-Earthquake
-Stealth Rock/ Stone Edge
-Hidden Power Ice
-U-turn

This is a pretty standard Lando set by this point. Stone Edge can be used over stealth rock if you have another setter and actually want to be able to threaten talonflame as opposed to just scaring it off. HP Ice nails lando-T and Gliscor and eases the need for ice coverage on conk although ice punch is still often very useful. U-turn is a huge move on this set as both conk and bisharp appreciate the free switch in to maintain their bulk. Both Bisharp and Conkeldurr give the special attackers that come in on lando-T a really hard time but their job can be made much harder if you lose momentum. A volt-turn core definitely eases their jobs against the more hard hitting mons, but is not necessary. I've gotten by on prediction with Lando-T as the only turner and even with no turners.

These three get along very well together, as they don't fight over each other with coverage or the rolls they play. Conkeldurr is often a good lead, and a tank capable of prolonged battle. Bisharp is much more of a poacher and enjoys volt-turning and the pokemon that Conkeldurr/Lando-T attract to the battlefield. Against certain teams Bisharp can stay out for an extended period of time but it is much more hit and run. Lando-T is the glue that protects both pokemon from their most major physical threats, while still having the hitting power to kill what it needs to and deal decent chip damage/ clean up slower enemies that conk/bisharp leave behind.

While the dual assault vest core gives special attackers are hard time it can still be a good idea to run another pokemon that can take special attacks. I like Chansey with these three pokemon. It provides invaluable cleric support and all of them love wishes. It's an awesome mixed wall that can be used to fall back on and support the entire team. All three of these guys also love for things to be paralyzed, which Chansey can provide

I've also been looking into Mega-Manectric as an addition to this. It's been brought up plenty at this point on the forums because of its synergy with Lando-T. I like that it can lure in specially based walls for conk/bisharp to take advantage of with it's defensive synergy and momentum gaining powers looking good for these guys.

The biggest threat so far that I've found to this core is Azumarill. If Azumarill switches in to Bisharp then I will often stay in and iron head. If I'm at a high enough hp I won't get ko'd by anything other than superpower and azu will be left at about 25-30%. I do this because the bellyjet set is so dangerous and I rather weaken it to revenge than give it a chance to possibly set up. Choice Band Superpower is also very easy to set up on, so I don't mind that as much as leaving Azu with a chance to set up at full health. The real problem comes when Azu comes in on something other than bisharp and has a real chance to set up or break knees. I dedicated azumarill counter is a really nice thing for this core to have.

NP megaluc excels against more defensive teams. It's less effective against more offensive teams, because it's difficult to set up a nasty plot against those types of teams safely. I'm not gonna tell you which specific pokemon to use but priority and scarf users are a good start.

You'll get the most satisfaction if you discover some sets or pokes you want to use yourself :].

I'm not too certain about this core just yet. It's still in the testing stages, but I'm finding that this particular set up works relatively well:

Lucario@Lucarionite
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: Timid (252 Sp.Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe)
-Nasty Plot
-Dark Pulse
-Aura Sphere
-Flash Cannon

Azumarill@Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: Adamant (252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Atk)
-Superpower
-Play Rough
-Aqua Jet
-Blizzard* (This will definitely become Ice Punch when Poke Bank rolls around)

Dragonite@Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: Jolly (252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe)
-Dragon Dance
-Fire Punch
-Dragon Claw
-Earthquake

How it works: What someone's immediately going to notice right off the bat is the lack of a priority user other than Azumarill. I traded that out for the chance to allow Dragonite more coverage and giving Lucario access to a bit more power. With the possibility of Lucarionite being banned on the horizon, I am attempting to boost Lucario's damage yield as much as humanly possible (Until I have to go back to using Life Orb). No one here is capable of the immediate switch out attacks (U-Turn, Volt Switch). That's something I left to the defensive / supporting core of my team. Anyway, Mega Lucario functions as a deadly special sweeper, smashing nearly anything that's not a Mega or a Multiscale Dragonite in its way. Meanwhile, Dragonite and Azumarill do an excellent job of getting around both Mega and Normal Lucario's weaknesses and potential counters (seeing as this core was made for playing with either Lucario utilizing Nasty Plot) while dealing nice amounts of damage along the way. Lucario in return does an excellent job of bashing annoying ice and rock types' faces in. That having been said, no sane grass type (save maybe Mega Venusaur) wants to tango with Dragonite without a plan and Azumarill's potent revenge killing talents are a pretty reliable backup plan.

I admit that this core is relatively unorthodox seeing as most offense-based cores I've seen make use of two priority attackers. It has worked out pretty well in going toe-to-toe with common threats in the current meta thus far, but as I said, it's still a work in progress and is relatively unstable (meaning that it may not be legal soon) given the current situation in the meta.

Bisharp, Rotom-H and Chesnaught seem like a good base for a balanced team to build off. Between them they either resist or are immune to every single typing in the game apart from fighting, and Chesnaught has additional immunity to aura sphere and focus blast.
They all cater to different roles, and compliment each other nicely. Rotom-W's necessity to switch is eased by Chesnaught being able to roar out boosters or substitute users, and Bisharp can also sucker punch out some boosting pokemon. Bisharp can abuse defog users to gain a +2 attack when they attempt to get rid of Chesnaught's spikes as well as being toxic immune, while Rotom-H acts as a great absorber of will o wisps and thunder waves if you can predict it.

The sets would be something like this:

625.png
Bisharp @ Lum Berry | Defiant
-Sucker Punch
-Night Slash
-Iron Head
-Swords Dance

479-heat.png
Rotom-H @ Choice Scarf | Levitate
-Overheat
-Volt Switch
-Thunderbolt
-Trick

652.png
Chesnaught @ Leftovers | Bulletproof
-Spikes
-Synthesis
-Hammer Arm
-Roar

You could perhaps replace Chesnaught with Breloom if you wanted a more offensive lineup or more priority moves.

Could anybody help me find some partners for this core?

468.png

Charizard@Charizarite X
Blaze
252 Atk / 252 Speed / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Flare Blitz
- Outrage
- Dragon Dance

My favourite mega thanks to his typing. I've gone for Quake instead of Thunder Punch because I feel Heatran is more threatining than Azumarill, and having a non-contact move is quite usefull sometimes.

Slowbro@Assault Vest
Regenerator
252 HP / 252 SpAtk / 4 Def
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Psyshock
- Ice Beam
- Flamethrower

Slowbro acts as a mixed wall and a utility special attacker thanks to his multiple move types. I've thought about changing Flamethrower for Focus Miss to beat TTar and Greninja, but the lack of accurancy is a huge con.

Togekiss@Leftovers
Serene Grace
248 HP / 180 SAtk / 28 SDef / 52 Spd
Modest Nature
- Air Slash
- Dazzling Gleam
- Fire Blast
- Roost

I really like Togekiss paired with Megazard. It avoids Dragon attacks because of its new type and Ground moves because of its old one. The only con is that shares it's weakness to rocks with the lizard.

I've been using Trevenant against MKang and Rotom-w, Gliscor and Tentacruel as a spinner, but I feel that I need something stronger against rock types or maybe a better special wall. Any tips?

WIth Pokebank around the corner I've been using the offensive core of SubLefties-Kyurem-B and CB Azumarrill. Kyube is weak to Dragon, Steel, Rock, Fighting; two of which Azumarrill resists with a complete immunity to one. Azumarrill has trouble with Grass, and Electric both of which Kyube resists. These two form a very potent core late-game with Sticky Web/T-Wave support.

This is kind of a weird one but I've found great success with it: Crobat and Tyranitar
Here's what I'm currently running (although it's subject to change):
Tyranitar @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 32 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef / 220 Def
Sassy Nature
- Fire Blast
- Ice Beam
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit/Crunch

Crobat @ Black Sludge
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 Atk / 16 HP / 240 Spd (I'll probably give him a Jolly nature eventually so he can outspeed/kill greninja etc)
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Taunt
- Super Fang
- Roost

Neither of them are technically new, but their new toys (Mega-Evolution and Infiltrator buff) this generation really make them stand out. People have given Crobat a lot of flack for being an 'inferior talonflame' and while its true that the BB's he delivers are strictly inferior, his bulk and utility more than make up for it.
Between the two of them they function as fantastic anti-leads, capable of countering anything aside from Deoxys-S. Tyranitar cover's Crobat's weakness to Psychic and can generally sponge up any special Electric/Ice attacks Crobat would have trouble with, while Crobat resists 5/7 of Tyranitar's weaknesses. They're not a perfect combo by far but they are surprisingly effective together, they sponge hits for each other quite nicely and make a fantastic offensive pairing. Crobat deals with the fast and powerful yet frail things that TTar has trouble with, while Tar provides sandstorm and a great mixed attacking set to wear down and/or kill anything that the bat cant shut down. I feel like this core is missing a third member to complete it though, Aegislash or a dragon maybe? Questions or recommendations are welcome.

I'm thinking that a F/W/G core of Heatran, Starmie, and Breloom work really well together.

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
Eruption / Fire Blast
Earth Power
Stealth Rock
Hidden Power Ice / Flash Cannon

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Spd / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
Hydro Pump
Ice Beam
Psychic
Rapid Spin

Breloom @ Focus Sash
Ability: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
Spore
Mach Punch
Bullet Seed
Rock Tomb

Breloom has a plethora of weaknesses, but Heatran resists every last one of them. Meanwhile, Breloom resists all of Heatran's weaknesses except for Fighting, which is where Starmie comes in. Starmie's weaknesses to Grass, Electric, and Dark are all resisted by Breloom, while Heatran crushes any Bugs that also want to try and take down Starmie. Ghost is the only type not resisted here, and if that gets to be a problem, then I can always throw in a Dark-type pivot, like Tyranitar.

Tyranitar @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
Dragon Dance
Stone Edge
Crunch
Earthquake

Mega Tyranitar completely walls Ghost-types, and can downright obliterate them with Crunch, and potentially sweep with a Dragon Dance boost. It has plenty of common weaknesses though, but the rest of the core pitches in to help Tyranitar's cover these weaknesses. I also believe that Stick Web support will be incredibly useful, allowing Heatran and Breloom to outspeed some other Pokemon and hit them extremely hard with their attacks.

Anyone know what pokemon would complement Porygon2 well in a three man defensive core? with Pory2 being the mixed wall. I run

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 100 Def / 156 SDef
Bold Nature
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Recover
- Thunder Wave

this gives Pory2 equal defenses, with Eviolite bringing both defenses to an amazing 396 backed by his 374 HP. I've been wracking my mind on what core he could fit on but haven't found any good pokemon that would complete the core

Looking at it, I'd suggest Ferrothorn. It has excellent synergy with each member, and can provide Hazard/Leech Seed/T-Wave support for your team.

Let's see. Porygon2 is weak to Fighting, so a Ghost-type would work pretty well here, maybe Jellicent.

That's true, but then it's broken down by Lucario and Gengar, so a third member that can stomach those two would be ideal, or at least just Lucario.

I was trying to think of a third Pokemon, but I can't really think of anything defensive that can take of both Gengar and Lucario.

448-m.png
080.png
635.png

Little core I've been playing around with, through brainstorming a team structured around mega Lucario.

Lucario @ Lucarionite
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Flash Cannon
- Aura Sphere
- Dark Pulse

Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Slack Off
- Thunder Wave
- Scald
- Icebeam

Hydreigon @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Superpower
- Fire Blast
- Crunch

Pretty much specially offensive mega Luke rips apart teams after a nasty plot. Special walls like Venusaur, Zapdos or even those who outspeed him and can OHKO like mega Alakazam are extremely threatening and can ruin a sweep. Excadrill in sand is also an issue if I'm not running priority vacuum wave. Hydreigon acts like a lure for the Pokemon, but is able to soften and break down these walls for me; and this mixed set is just what helps get the job done. His base stats are so large, I can pretty much afford to invest in special attack. Superpower is a guaranteed 2HKO to specially defensive Blissey, which could also prove problematic. Fire Blast and Draco Meteor seriously dent specially defensive Venusaur and crunch is the preferred move to OHKO specially defensive psychics. Slowbro pretty much rounds off the synergy, also providing me with a physical wall for the team. Ice beam is for Dragons, and provides some nice coverage. His ability to heavily cripple incoming opponents through thunder wave (in particular scarf users) and scald is greatly appreciated, and helps secure a successful sweep. Regenerator + leftovers + slack off is just wow. This little bro can be pretty hard to counter due to his bulk, and as such warrants a place in the core.
If anyone has suggestions for move changes or possible team mates I would be more than happy, let me know what you think!

I use Mega Ampharos with Porygon2, and Trick Room as well, so once Porygon2 taps out Amphy can come and out speed everything with its behemoth special attack. Azumarill helps a lot with this core as well, for its resistance to fighting, ice, and dragon, and general all around ass-kickery.

Idk if these cores have been posted yet, but:

Aegislash+Hydreigon Ghost-Dark / Steel-Dragon Wall-Breaking duo:

Hydreigon @ Choice Scarf/Life Orb
Levitate
Naive/Hasty/Timid 252 SpA / 4SpD / 252 Spe
-Super Power / Focus Blast
-Draco Meteor
-Dark Pulse
-Fire Blast

Aegislash @ Spooky Plate/Leftovers
Stance Change
Quiet 252 HP / 170 Atk / 88 SpA
-Kings Shield
-Shadow Ball
-Shadow Sneak
-Sacred Sword

Skarmory+Mega Ampharos Defensive Core

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Sturdy
Impish 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
-Stealth Rock
-Roost
-Whirlwind
-Brave Bird

Ampharos @ Ampharosite
Static -> Mold Breaker
Calm 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
-Dragon Pulse
-Thunderbolt

Each core covers each other's weaknesses almost perfectly (or in the case of the Hydeigislash wall-breaking combo, absolutely perfectly).
