Good special wall?

I feel as though my team is lacking in defense against special attacks...

What are some good special walls I can use?

Before suggesting, so you can take types and weaknesses into consideration my team currently consists of: Tyranitar, Blastoise, Spiritomb and Porygon-Z.

Also, no legendaries please. This includes those that aren't oobers.

Cresselia with Calm Nature and lots of HP EVs. Good luck. Still can't take on SpecsMence very well, but then not much does. Great for just about anything else, though.
 
blissey and cresselia seem to be the best special walls in DP, so by banning yourself from using them i guess you'll have to settle for something inferior.

snorlax and regice were good last gen, not sure how they hold up now though.
 
Only problem with Cresselia is actually being able to obtain one with the right nature and good IVs at the same time. :/

This is really the only reason I don't want to use legendaries.

They do "okay", but they can't handle the heavy hitters like CSMence or Nasty Plot Azelf

But since he does not want Legendaries or Blissey, then go with Thick Fat Snorlax :P
 
Oh well then use a Poke that could setup Light Screen and is resistant to Fighting, some options:

Slowbro, Starmie, Mr.Mime, Zapdos, Dragonite, Xatu, Claydol, Gallade, Scizor, Milotic, Forretress (Neutral to Fighting but does OK)

Yeah Zapdos is legendary but does the job pretty well, I don't know why limiting options with a No-Legendary Clause especially when you will be facing them in Wifi...

Xatu has a very appealin' 4x Resistance to Fighting and a STABed SE attack to kill them so is worth consideration if weren't because of almost every Fighting Poke havin' acces to Rock moves :S

Is it hard? Not necessarily.

Is it time-consuming? VERY.

Is it worth it? Oh hell yes.

I've done it. Hell, in my last game I caught a crappy Cresselia and just kept swapping for new ones over GTS until I found a great one. It doesn't take any more time to get a good Cresselia than it takes to breed for a Pokemon with good IVs/nature/abilities.

I dunno, Cresselia gets 3HKO'd by CSmence (assuming my calcs are correct), and can stall it out fairly well to get the Special Attack drops to the point where it can easily 2HKO with Ice Beam. Assuming you're Cresselia is orientated towards being a Special Wall. Same stuff as Blissey.

Nasty Plot Azelf (and even Adaptability Porygon-Z) are pretty hard to deal with, but thats what they do. Blissey is easily the best Special tank in the game and has problems with them, so you can't really try to tank them outside of resists.

I'd vote for Dusknoir myself. Can take hits like a champ, great attack stat, great support movepool, and that low HP is great in combo with Pain Split. Annoying to deal with.
 
Milotic or Dusknoir. I like milotic as my double wall as it's special defence is high, and it's has mediocre defence, but with marvel scale, that's not a problem.

Dusknoir kills lots, with access to Ice/thunder/fire punch and Night shade. Also has a nice attack called pain split which helps since it doesn't have the best HP. Could kill an oppposing blissey.

But seriously, the best wall is blissey, you could switch that Porygon-Z with a starmie or Alakazam, maybe Metagross instead of TTar.
 
If you are worried about fighters, I'd say Dusknoir, its immune to the STAB Fighting moves, which is no doubt what will be used TTar/Pory-Z due to they typing and thus a switchin should be pretty predictable. On top of that it has nice attack, learns moves to counter many types, is a good FPer and learns good status moves and has survivablity.
 
This thread is sort of preposterous. The OP is limiting himself way too much by not using Blissey or even non-uber legendaries; I dare say Tyranitar is better than most, if not all, of the base 580 legendaries. Snorlax is the next best thing, but it is a far, far third to Blissey and Cresselia.

yeah, I wouldn't underestimate Tyranitar for taking special attacks, its just ruined by crappy typing and lack of recovery, although that is also a problem with most of the other suggestions.
 
As if he can't take the hit, and Psychic is really only on Zam and Espeon, admit it.

He'd pwn off both of 'em with Gunk Shot/Poison Jab anyway.
