VGC [GP 1/1] Mega Garchomp Z(ed)

[SET]
Fast Attacker (Garchomp-Mega-Z) @ Garchompite Z
Ability: Rough Skin
Level: 50
SPs: 2 HP / 32 SpA / 32 Spe
Modest Nature
- Dragon Pulse / Draco Meteor
- Power Gem
- Earth Power / Flamethrower
- Protect

[SET COMMENTS]

* Mega Garchomp Z uses its great Speed and Special Attack to quickly threaten heavy damage against Pokemon like Mega Salamence and Garchomp and trade positively against general metagame staples like Incineroar and Mega Raichu Y.

* Dragon Pulse can 2HKO Rillaboom without suffering a massive Special Attack drop. Draco Meteor hits hard enough to OHKO some Mega Raichu Y and Mega Gengar, but it is risky against bulky Mega Gengar, as Shadow Tag will stop Mega Garchomp Z from switching out to reset the Special Attack drop if it survives. Power Gem lets Mega Garchomp Z OHKO Mega Charizard Y and Volcarona. Flamethrower and Earth Power stop Mega Garchomp Z from being walled by Steel-types like Kingambit and Gholdengo. Earth Power gets a 2HKO against Incineroar, whereas Flamethrower is particularly effective against Mega Golisopod.

Usage Tips
========

* Fairy-types like Mega Floette and Sylveon threaten Mega Garchomp Z with an OHKO, while it cannot do much damage in return. Trick Room setters like Farigiraf and Indeedee-F use its Speed against it. Whimsicott threatens heavy damage with Moonblast and denies Mega Garchomp Z's Speed advantage with Tailwind.

* Mega Froslass will take heavy damage from Draco Meteor or Flamethrower, but it will usually survive the hit and respond with an OHKO with Blizzard.

* Steel-types like Gholdengo beat Fairy-types with Make It Rain and switch in safely on attacks like Moonblast from Mega Floette, while Mega Garchomp Z can beat Mega Charizard Y for them. Sneasler has Dire Claw for Fairy-types and Close Combat for Archaludon, and Mega Garchomp Z threatens Mega Salamence in return.

* Incineroar has Throat Chop for Indeedee-F and Farigiraf, can switch in on Psychic or Expanding Force from Farigiraf after Trick Room is set up, and it plays better against Mega Froslass and Trick Room in general with Intimidate and Parting Shot to weaken sweepers such as Mega Golisopod. Mega Garchomp Z will usually OHKO Sneasler with Draco Meteor to Incineroar's benefit.

* Rillaboom overwrites Indeedee-F's Psychic Terrain with Grassy Surge, stopping it from setting Trick Room with Fake Out or shutting down its teammate to keep Mega Garchomp Z safe. It threatens Sylveon and Mega Froslass with an OHKO with Wood Hammer and a Grassy Glide and Power Gem double target, respectively. Rillaboom appreciates Mega Garchomp Z dealing with Mega Salamence.

* Volcarona's Struggle Bug helps against most Fairy-type threats and Archaludon, allowing Mega Garchomp Z to always survive Dragon Pulse from Archaludon and Mega Dragonite at -1 Special Attack; it has Heat Wave for Mega Froslass; it matches Tailwind with Whimsicott; and it redirects Dragon Pulse from Archaludon and opposing Mega Garchomp Z with Rage Powder.

* Mega Raichu Y beats Archaludon with Focus Blast, and Mega Garchomp Z complements it as an alternative Mega Evolution by beating Garchomp. Mega Charizard Y is better against Fairy- and Steel-types, and Mega Garchomp Z can be brought instead against Mega Salamence. Steel-type Mega Evolutions like Mega Golisopod and Mega Metagross are the best options for fighting Fairy-types, and Mega Garchomp Z can be brought against Mega Charizard Y for them.

[OVERVIEW]
Mega Garchomp Z uses its great Speed and Special Attack to quickly threaten heavy damage against Pokemon like Mega Salamence and Garchomp One of the main pros of Garchomp Z is that it is pretty good at trading damage or 2HKOs because of its relatively solid bulk, considering its extremely high speed, (as opposed to other speedsters Absol Z :[). Its coverage options like Power Gem and Flamethrower let it deal with Mega Charizard Y and Mega Golisopod handily. With its generally high damage output, it can deal high damage to threats like Rillaboom and Mega Staraptor for its teammates to finish them off. Its typing leaves it weak to Fairy-types like Mega Floette, and its high Speed leaves it weak to Trick Room strategies. Mega Lucario Z and Sneasler will typically faint to Flamethrower or Earth Power and Draco Meteor, respectively, but they may get an attack in first due to their high Speed and Sneasler's Unburden.
Mention that Garchomp Z is also a really flexible pokemon that can be slotted in with a variety of teams

* Mega Garchomp Z does great against Mega Salamence and Garchomp, outspeeding and OHKOing them with Draco Meteor or Draco Pulse.

* Draco Meteor hits hard enough to OHKO some Mega Raichu Y and Mega Gengar. Dragon Pulse can 2HKO Rillaboom without suffering a massive Special Attack drop. Draco Meteor is risky against bulky Mega Gengar as Shadow Tag will stop Mega Garchomp Z from switching out to reset the Special Attack drop. Switch move order

* Archaludon and Mega Froslass will take heavy damage from Draco Meteor, but they will survive the hit and respond with an OHKO with Draco Meteor or Blizzard, respectively. Archaludon and Draco Meteor are not much of a common pair these days; can just stick to Froslass. Also consider revising this part because of the move changes; up to you though

* Steel-types like Gholdengo beat Fairy-types with Make It Rain, while Mega Garchomp Z can beat Mega Charizard Y for it You can mention resistances too. Sneasler has Dire Claw for Fairy-types, Close Combat for Archaludon, and Mega Garchomp Z threatens Mega Salamence in return.

* Incineroar has Throat Chop for Indeedee-F and Farigiraf Yes but it does around 55%, not really the biggest difference maker by itself, can there is more to add on the why?, and it plays better against Trick Room in general with Intimidate and Parting Shot. Mega Garchomp Z will usually OHKO Sneasler with Draco Meteor on Incineroar's behalf. Rillaboom overwrites Indeedee-F’s Psychic Terrain with Grassy Surge, stopping it from setting Trick Room with Fake Out or shutting down its teammate to keep Mega Garchomp Z safe. ready for 2/2. note: It was hard to name a TR sweeper that is a good target for parting shot (and intimidate) because fairies will shit on garchomp zed anyway, torkoal's STAB is resisted, and Megolisopod should be OHKOed by Flamethrower. I went with Goli just because intimidate is helpful, i originally had mega camerupt but it's not too relevant. I didn't specifically mention Fake Out on Fairies because I think the Wood Hammer OHKO is more relevant, imo Garchomp really wants Fairies gone instead of just temporarily mished

GP Team done

think I'm done, though I must note that QC2 told me to shmove the overview to the main set comments, and GP told me to put it back. Idc where it ends up (I wrote it as an overview) but there isn't an M-C chomp set on smogon yet so if we're doing overviews it needs one right? thank you to poketitanterra, the carrot, and tbolt

If QC told you to move it to main set comments, then their change overrides mine.

ProssettiVGC are things still being figured out or is this done? Asking for clarity before uploading.
It’s done in the sense that I have implemented all checks. If you believe the paragraph that has been moved around from the overview to main set comments would work better as an overview I can put it back when I see your response, if not it is ready to be uploaded

Make this change and it's good to go. The intro point doesn't go over weaknesses or coverage options, that's for other parts of the analysis (since this was previously an overview)

* Mega Garchomp Z does great against Mega Salamence and Garchomp, outspeeding and OHKOing them with Dragon Pulse or Draco Meteor.
I don't think this point is necessary, already in the intro bullet

These should all be in the same bullet point.
