Because rabia and deetah told me to sign up for tutoring so I am obeying

1) Availability and Timezone
I am in EST (GMT-4), and while my availability is hard to pin down at times, I'm generally on more in the afternoons and evenings (1:30 PM onward most days, as that's when I get home from uni). However, I also try to check in during mornings around 8:00 AM in case there's things I miss... in short, I have little to no life.

2) Why join GP?
First, there's the aforementioned having no life and a gentle nudge from kind folks like autumn and adorluigi (shoutouts to both of them because I wouldn't be here otherwise, thanks for the new crippling addiction to grammar fun pastime). More central to my desire to join GP, however, is that I REALLY like helping people and using my excess free time to be of benefit to those around me. That feeling of knowing that I contributed to things larger than myself and am assisting others is what gets me going. When I started doing amchecks, however, I was able to actually get feedback and improve in the process, which was a huge deal to me - Not only did I get to pass time and help others, but I got to grow in my own knowledge as I did so (a luxury I'm rarely afforded, even as someone who tries to go out of his way to get feedback). I find myself liking the structure of the work, the flexible timeline on which it's done, and the notion that I can be a positive presence both for the GP team and for the various writers who make analyses.

Am I long-winded? Yes. Am I a bit of a clown? Also yes. But am I eager to help even if it means chanting the entire GP standards every morning? Darn right I am.

I've always loved English and enjoy writing, and I noticed that I wanted to throw GP elements into my QCs. Didn't seriously consider joining until autumn suggested I do so, though I'm enjoying it a lot more than I expected I would and would love to help GP to reduce strain on queue times.

I should also mention that this job involves marking English essays in a high school setting, so it'll help out with me marking.

1) My timezone is UTC/GMT-4. On weekdays, I'm available from 5 PM to 10 PM; on weekends, I'm free from 8 AM to 10 PM.
