reasoning

checking analyses are fun since I often look back into the qc checks for context, and there's an added bonus of learning the tier while you check them, especially old gens and oms which I generally enjoy more. I am not well-versed in the writing/qc side, so the gp team is a good way to contribute

GMT-5 / EST. My availability is flexible. I have a few classes in the afternoon/evening (especially on Tuesdays) and a decent workload, but when I'm not in class I can generally choose when I'm available.

2) Why do you want to join the GP team?
I really like draft league and recently started interacting with the Smogon community more with the Draft Winter Seasonal. The draft analyses that have started coming out interest me, and I would like to contribute to the process of making them since there are relatively few people currently doing GP for them and I enjoy editing. Amchecking for other formats has expanded my interest beyond draft to some extent.

GMT -5 / Eastern Standard Time. I am available to edit after 6pm Mon-Fri and basically the entire weekend. I am able to talk on forums/discord basically any time during normal waking hours.

2) Why do you want to join the GP team?
I have been on Smogon in some form for over a decade, and want to positively contribute to the site. I feel that I am better at writing than actual Pokemon battling, so GP checking seemed like a natural fit. I also work in the legal field and will attend law school in the future, so the skills that I hone GPing (copyediting, attention to detail, better grammar) are skills that I will utilize in my professional career. Finally, I enjoy the sense of accomplishment gained from helping others.

Writing has always been my biggest passion, and I always strive and put my best foot forward whenever i’m writing an important paper, essay, or letter to whomever shall recieve it. Pokemon wise, I wish to share my writing with everyone as well and help players become stronger too. Just like how many users look up to the very helpful and friendly GP team, I want somebody to one day be able to look at something i’ve written or posted and say “Hey! This this article on (such and such) was a big help. Thank you!”

i'm usually available during daytime but i'm most available after 9 pm-12 am my time and holidays. i do my checks depending on my schedule for that day. my timezone is +5.5 but i can coordinate with any timezone comfortably

i've always been a stickler for good grammar and since english isn't my first language, I've always been proud of my ability to exercise good grammar. i do believe my grammar has flaws and this will be a good way for me to exercise my language muscles and become better at something i enjoy doing.

I've noticed a fair amount of grammatical stuff on uploaded analyses that could be either fixed or touched up a bit, so I provided feedback through the small site change thread and the main Smogon Discord server. I've decided to do a couple AMGP checks to play a bit more active role in catching stuff like this, and I was given a suggestion to check this thread after my second one.
