Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spore
- Foul Play
- Sludge Bomb
- Giga Drain

A valuable typing in Poison alongside an incredible ability in Regenerator makes Amoonguss a great defensive option on Grass-type teams. Spore is Amoonguss's best form of status, able to put potential threats like Bisharp and Dragonite out of commission. Foul Play helps Amoonguss deal with physical attackers like Dragapult and Scizor, which would otherwise have no trouble setting up against it. Sludge Bomb is Amoonguss's main STAB move, hitting Flying- and Dragon-type Pokemon as well as annoying most Pokemon with a poison chance. Giga Drain is Grass-type coverage with the added benefit of secondary recovery. Like most Grass-type Pokemon, Amoonguss appreciates the partnership of Cradily, which offers Stealth Rock and neutrality to Fire and Flying. Ferrothorn makes an especially great partner due to its Spikes, Psychic resistance, Ice neutrality, and formation of a potent defensive core along with Amoonguss and Cradily. Rillaboom, Zarude, and Rotom-C are offensive options that can go alongside Amoonguss to make use of Spore for a potential setup opportunity.

A valuable typing in Poison- [RH] alongside an incredible ability in Regenerator makes Amoonguss a great defensive option on Grass-type [AH] teams. Spore is one of Amoonguss' best form of status, able to put potential threats like Bisharp and Dragonite out of commission. Foul Play helps Amoonguss deal with physical attackers like Dragapult and Scizor which would otherwise have no trouble setting up against it. Sludge Bomb is the STAB of choice for hitting Flying- and Dragon-type Pokemon that would otherwise resist Grass-type moves with a notable poison chance that annoys Pokemon who even resist it. Giga Drain is Grass-type STAB with the added benefit of secondary recovery. Like most Grass-type Pokemon, Amoonguss appreciates the partnership of Cradily who offers both hazards as well as neutrality to both Fire- and Flying- [remove space] type attacks. Ferrothorn makes an especially great partner due to its resistance against Psychic- and Ice- [remove space] type [Ferrothorn doesn't resist Ice-type attacks, only resists Psychic attacks, rephrase the sentence accordingly.] moves with the again added benefit of hazards while also forming a potent defensive core along with Amoonguss and Cradily. [you can afford to make a mention about an offensive teammate that pairs well with it since you're only at 900 characters and also mention that other offensive teammates like Rillaboom, Zarude, Rotom-C can capitalize on the status it inflicts.]
