[SET]
name: Offensive
move 1: Close Combat
move 2: Earthquake / Headlong Rush
move 3: Ice Spinner / Rock Tomb
move 4: Rapid Spin / Knock Off / Stealth Rock / Rock Tomb
item: Assault Vest / Booster Energy / Focus Sash
tera type: Steel / Ground
ability: Protosynthesis
nature: Jolly / Adamant
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

* Great Tusk's primal physical prowess and great support options make it a prime choice for a bulky Fighting-type.

* **Earthquake versus Headlong Rush**: Headlong Rush's defensive drops and vulnerability to Rocky Helmet make it a riskier option than Earthquake, but the extra power OHKOes maximum HP Gholdengo.

* **Ice Spinner**: This is highly recommended to avoid getting walled by Dragonite before it Terastallizes, while also dealing good damage to common Tera Flying Pokemon such as Gholdengo and Kingambit.

* **Rock Tomb**: Rock Tomb is a good speed control option, great for breaking through Dragonite's Multiscale while nullifying its potential Speed boost, while letting other teammates take advantage of speed control. It also lets Great Tusk hit troublesome Focus Sash Ghost-types such as Flutter Mane and Gengar, something Rapid Spin can't do.

* **Rapid Spin**: Great Tusk is one of the best Rapid Spin users, being able to take advantage of it offensively and supporting Pokemon such as Dragonite, Baxcalibur, and Focus Sash partners very well with it.

* **Knock Off**: Beyond the usefulness of removing items, this is Great Tusk's best move against Air Balloon Gholdengo.

Other Options
========

* **Iron Head**: If using Tera Steel, Iron Head is a decent option for OHKOing Flutter Mane without using Headlong Rush, and it deals heavy damage to Baxcalibur and Tera Fairy Rotom-W.

Tera Types
========

* **Steel**: Tera Steel greatly aids against the many Fairy-, Ice-, and Flying-types that would otherwise prey on Great Tusk, such as Mimikyu, Iron Bundle, and Tera Flying Dragonite.

* **Ground**: The furious increase in power Tera Ground provides can be useful late game, giving Earthquake a high chance to OHKO even defensive Gholdengo and Headlong Rush the ability to 2HKO Terastallized Skeledirge.

Items
========

* **Assault Vest**: This patches up Great Tusk's poor Special Defense, which can be paired with Tera Steel to survive new threats such as Flutter Mane and Iron Bundle.

* **Booster Energy**: When saving Great Tusk for late-game sweeps, Booster Energy is preferred over Life Orb for preserving its HP against priority attacks.

* **Focus Sash**: Focus Sash on such a bulky Pokemon may seem wasteful, but it vastly improves Great Tusk's matchups against special attackers such as Rotom-W and makes setting up Stealth Rock a far simpler task.

EV Spreads
========

* **252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe with Jolly**: Maximizing Great Tusk's Speed lets it outspeed some important bulky threats, such as Gholdengo and Rotom-W.

* **252 HP / 228 Atk / 28 SpD with Adamant**: This bulkier spread is best used with Assault Vest, ensuring Tera Steel Great Tusk performs decently against non-Choice Specs Flutter Mane due to avoiding a 2HKO from Mystical Fire.

[SET]
name: Bulk Up
move 1: Bulk Up
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Taunt
move 4: Ice Spinner
item: Booster Energy / Sitrus Berry
tera type: Steel / Ground
ability: Protosynthesis
nature: Careful / Jolly
evs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

* Great Tusk's fantastic Defense stat makes it a great option for setting up Bulk Up late-game.

* **Taunt**: Taunt preys on defensive Pokemon such as Skeledirge and Garganacl.

* **Ice Spinner**: Dragonite is such a problematic foe that hitting it hard is worth more than a Fighting-type STAB move.

Other Options
========

* **Body Press**: Although it is difficult to fit in without sacrificing utility or coverage, Body Press is a reasonable option if a Fighting-type STAB move is needed.

Tera Types
=========

* **Steel**: Tera Steel is the best option for dealing with Great Tusk's weaknesses, such as Fairy-types and makes Iron Bundle usually fail to 2HKO specially defensive Great Tusk without Choice Specs.

* **Ground**: Tera Ground keeps Great Tusk safer against predicted Fire-type coverage from Flutter Mane and lets it break through Skeledirge more easily.

* **Fire**: Fire is not a great defensive type; however, not only does it do well against Fairy-types such as Flutter Mane, it also protects Great Tusk from fast Will-O-Wisp users such as Dragapult, Mimikyu, and Volcarona.

* **Poison**: Tera Poison is a decent alternative to Tera Steel, providing the vital Fairy-type resistance without the weaknesses to Fighting- and Fire-type attacks and an extremely useful immunity to being poisoned that eases the match-up against Toxic Spikes foes such as Clodsire and Meowscarada.

Items
========

* **Booster Energy**: Depending on the EV spread, Booster Energy can boost Attack or Speed to increase Great Tusk's late-game cleaning potential.

* **Sitrus Berry**: Sitrus Berry's quick burst of recovery makes Great Tusk far more difficult to 2HKO, with Tera Steel most notably avoiding a 2HKO from Iron Bundle's Hydro Pump without Choice Specs.

* **Covert Cloak**: If a Garganacl check is desperately needed, Covert Cloak Great Tusk is up for the task.

EV Spreads
========

* **252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD with Careful**: Maximum investment in special bulk makes Great Tusk much more difficult to revenge kill with the likes of Gholdengo and Iron Bundle. The 4 Attack EVs gives an Attack boost from Protosynthesis, which is preferred for improving the Skeledirge matchup and sweeping more easily.

* **4 HP / 252 SpD / 252 Spe with Jolly**: This set trades more reliable matchups against special attackers for getting a Speed boost from Protosynthesis, making Great Tusk an even better late-game sweeper and ruining fast Will-O-Wisps from the likes of Dragapult and Volcarona via Taunt.

[SET]
name: Choice Item
move 1: Close Combat
move 2: Headlong Rush / Earthquake
move 3: Ice Spinner
move 4: Knock Off
item: Choice Scarf / Choice Band
tera type: Ground / Fighting / Steel
ability: Protosynthesis
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

* Great Tusk's high power attacks make it a fine Choice item holder.

* **Headlong Rush versus Earthquake**: Headlong Rush is preferred for stampeding over maximum HP Gholdengo, but Earthquake avoids chip damage from Rocky Helmet and makes Great Tusk far less vulnerable to priority attacks from foes like Dragonite and Palafin-H.

* **Ice Spinner**: Great Tusk should never leave its cave without a move to hit Dragonite hard!

* **Knock Off**: Knock Off deals massive damage to Air Balloon Gholdengo and is almost guaranteed to OHKO offensive Dragapult after Stealth Rock damage.

Other Options
========

* **Iron Head**: If using Tera Steel, this is a reasonable option over Knock Off if Tera Fairy Rotom-W is an issue.

Tera Types
========

* **Ground**: Tera Ground is the best option for late-game cleaning, dealing significant damage to Dondozo and Tera Fairy Skeledirge and OHKOing Dragapult with Headlong Rush.

* **Fighting**: Tera Fighting threatens to 2HKO Corviknight, an otherwise decent check to Great Tusk.

* **Steel**: While Great Tusk's special bulk is mediocre, Tera Steel can prevent it from being OHKOed by foes such as Iron Bundle and Flutter Mane.

Items
========

* **Choice Scarf**: Since it outspeeds other major Choice Scarf Pokemon such as Gholdengo and Rotom-W, Great Tusk makes for a good revenge killer.

* **Choice Band**: Choice Band is a more niche option due to being extremely vulnerable to revenge kills, but does a much better job of wall-breaking, with Tera boosted Great Tusk even being able to 2HKO a maximum Defense Dondozo with Close Combat or Headlong Rush!

Got this mammoth ready for a QC check! Thankfully, it's a much simpler Pokemon than Scream Tail, but I still got a few things to say!

- I don't mind slashing either Rock Tomb or Iron Head into the last's set's last slot (I will admit Rock Tomb is pretty neat), but I just put them both in Other Options for now because they got more caveats compared to the other moves.

- I merged Sash and offensive, because it led to less words, and Stealth Rock Great Tusk ended up being a less major thing than I think we expected, so I feel having an entire set dedicated to setting up Stealth Rock doesn't make as much sense anymore.

For the Bulk Up set, tera poison is worth a mention as it gives great tusk a nice resistance to fairy without making it weak to fighting, as well as allowing it more freedom to set up on defensive things like Clodsire.

A note about Rock Tomb - it can be used as alternative speed control to rapid spin, if your team isn’t concerned with hazards, this allows it to hit ghosts and extends the speed control to the rest of Tusk’s team, which can be marginally helpful by allowing things like Dragonite to outspeed otherwise troublesome targets and scare them out for a setup opportunity.

As always though, this looks great! QC APPROVED

Is Play Rough ever a good move here?
Honestly Play Rough doesn't sound bad on paper to me as a sort of role compression thing (sorta like how Iron Hands uses it with Tera Fairy), but I've never used it, nor have I seen it, so I don't want to really include it in Other Options until its proven itself one way or another.

GP 1/1! Please give credit to Frixel as well!

"unique" should only be used for things that are actually one-of-a-kind. Volcanion's unique typing? good. Great Tusk's unique access to Knock Off and Rapid Spin? should be a different adjective

"speed control" is always lower case (even though Speed is usually upper case)

The offensive rapid spin vs offensive earthquake lines are a good example of when clauses need to be joined by a comma; in the earthquake line, both sides of the comma are independent clause that would be correct as full sentences, so they need a comma. In the rapid spin bullet, the second clause would not be a complete sentence, so it needs to NOT have a comma

"special attackers" should be lower case. Special Attack / Defense / etc should only be capitalized when referring to the stat itself

"STAB" is always an adjective; Fighting-type STAB moves is fine, but just Fighting-type STAB is not

you missed two misspellings of "preferred" (prefered)

max should always be maximum

Oh wow, somehow Xenforo did NOT give me the highlight for the check, this is what too much Metroid Prime does to me...

Anyways, this is now onsite, thanks a lot everyone!

(And also wow, something went wrong with the spell check I did, lmao there were some embarrassing typos there, sorry about that!)
