Greninja with Choice Scarf performs as a great revenge killer for Dark teams because of its, diverse movepool, amazing ability in Protean, and decent mixed attacking stats. Ice Beam hits Dragon-, Grass-, and Flying-types like Dragonite, Whimsicott, and Zapdos. Gunk Shot hits Fairy types like- Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, and Mega-Altaria. U-Turn allows Greninja to pivot out of common checks such as Blissey and Toxapex, which allows Greninja's team mates to take advantage of. Hydro Pump hits Fire-, Ground-, and Rock-types like Cinderace, Hippowdon, and Mega Diancie. Spikes and Toxic Spikes crippels opposing teams. Choice Scarf allows Greninja to outspeed threats like Scarf Tapu Fini, Tapu Koko, and Scarf Latias. Naive nature is preferred as it does not weaken U-Turn and Gunk shot.
Choice Band Tyranitar is a great partner as it can break walls like - Toxapex, Alolan-Muk, and Mega-Venasaur which greninja struggles against. Mandibuzz supports Greninja by removing hazards, crippling special walls such as Mantine, and bring able to check Fighting-types. Krookodile provides an Electric type immunity, and can Pursuit trap frail Electric types in Regeleki and Alolan-Raichu. Mega-Sableye is a great hazard control due to Magic Bounce, Fighting Immunity and has status moves such as Will-o-Wisp and Toxic. Hydregion with Nasty Plot is able to help with Steel matchup, and makes Walls like Toxapex, Mega Venusaur setup foder with Substitute. Bisharp breaks Walls that Greninja struggle against such as Toxapex, Chansey, Blissey and Porygon2.

Grass Knot hits Water, and Ground types like Urshifu-R, Swampert, and Hippowdon. Ice Beam threatens Dragon-, Flying-, and Ground types like Garchomp , Landorus and Zapdos. Hidden Power-Electric allows Greninja to threaten Pelipper and Mantine after while, Hidden Power-Fire threatens Steel types like Mega-Scizor and Ferrothorn. Gunk Shot hits Azumarill, Alolan-Ninetales and Tapu-Bulu. Extrasensory is used to threatens Poison-types such as Mega Venusaur, Toxapex, and Galarian Weezing. Grassium Z heavily damages Water-types that don't take much damage by Grass Knot such as Rotom-W, and Tapu Fini, while also being able to OHKO Manaphy. Psychium Z OHKO bulky Poison types like- Toxapex and Mega-Venasaur. A Timid nature allows Greninja to outspeed threats like Cindirace, Keldeo, and Latios.
Greninjas teammates like Weavile and Zarude get benefit from Greninja's ability to remove bulky mons like Mega-Venasaur, Toxapex, and Buzzwole. Bisharp hits specially deffensive mons like Chansey, Blissey and Porygon2. Alolan-Muk Pursuit trapping and being able to use STAB Poison Jab against Scarf Tapu-Lele, Tapu-Bulu, and Tapu koko. Mega-Sableye provides Fighting Immunity and Hazard control with Magic Bounce. Mandibuzz Checks Fighting-types and U-Turn allows Greninja to come in safely.
