  • Schedule via Smogon VMs. It's easier for us to make decisions for activity calls when we can actually see what went down with scheduling.
  • If you are unable to schedule with your opponent, please let your managers know ASAP so they can communicate that to us or the other team's managers for a potential substitute.
  • When making a substitution, please tag myself, the managers of the opposing team, and all of the players affected by the substitute to ensure that everyone is made aware. Players who have already played in the week or were subbed out in the same week cannot be subbed back in.
  • If a match remains incomplete by the time of the deadline, it will be subject to an activity call.
  • Replays are mandatory. Not only are they useful for confirming wins, they contribute to usage stats and allow the people who couldn't watch the games live to watch them later.
  • To managers: Please send us your lineups in the same format that we used to post pairings. It makes it much easier to post future rounds more quickly.

With all the managers preparing and actively participating and collaboraring with the staff to make this a very smooth tournament, this looks to be a very VERY promising end of year event. It's needless to say that I am excited to see all this talent flocking towards this event. That's not to say that newer players are not welcome. I love me a good upset.
But sometimes we get distracted and think all it takes to make a good tour is talent. Already from this new garnered attention as well as some of the newest implementations to the format, I'd venture to say has what it takes to be the best GSC PL yet. But we need to be supportive for newcomers and experienced players alike. Play friendlies with each other if you can. Try and offer help within the realm of your capabilities. And managers, try and do more than focusing on a lineup and get we're in a competition ,but it isn't always fun for the opposing player if someone tries to dead game (trust me ). Everyone plays a role in making it an experience that nurtures growth, without demanding that we're impeccable.

And folks, don't fixate on your records. Focus on what drives you to be happy. You can always learn something too. Try not to burn yourselves out. And spending all your time in prep might only bring you so far before it could start to feel taxing.

I know this might sound alarming to some but you need not worry. I'm not accusing anyone of mistakes. I only hope that good comes of this tour and maybe bringing light to a lot of what made my experiences playing, hosting,amazing etc. fun as well as those parts that were questionable.

Bored in math class, so here we go, GSCPL V Preseason Power Rankings

1. Crooked Cloysters
I won't elaborate since this is my team

2. Wobbuffett Village
Incredibly strong OU core ft. kenix and hyogafodex, and this team is strong enough on lower tiers (cyberacc and bee stand out) to really go far, though admittedly I have like no idea ab some lower tiers players lol so could be wildly wrong

3. Shunko Jolteons
I contemplated the notion that 3-6 might genuinely just be a tie, since there is so much parity in this league that its legit impossible to rank every team and be confident in those results. I'm not gonna do that though.

I may be the biggest Shunko Jolteons apologist to never get drafted by the Shunko Jolteons. Though their OU core is inevitably weak, a lot of the players they do have are newer/more malleable for the support they do have in ZiloXX and Raichy. They also have a standout lineup on lower tiers, especially if lax is supported well, but what could bite them and a couple of other teams is spending a lot of credits on an absolutely stacked ubers pool. If conflict gets cannabalized by Fear, Isa, and BFM into a losing season and Jolteons miss playoffs I'll look like an idiot, but I'm betting that won't happen.

4. Royal Raikous
A lot of what I just said about the Jolteons could be said about the Raikous, though they trade being slightly weaker on paper in lower tiers for better on-paper OU slots. What sets Jolteons above them is blind faith in my magic 8 ball that says ZiloXX is prep jesus (post AI generated jesus image here) and it also says conflict will do better than fear. Whichever team places higher will be the one with the less cannibalized ubers slot.

5. Ladder-Bayleef Saints
The third straight team to spend half their budget on ubers, this one has the most balance between OU and lower tiers, though I do believe that the sheer amount of slots I'd analyze to be okay but not great will hurt them vs stronger teams or players on hot streaks. with the exceptions of mrsoup and glfg, the rest of this team will need to immensely benefit from prosperous winds or good support for this team to make a deep run. I wouldn't be surprised if that happened, but the magic 8 ball said "not yet on the horizons"

6. Cursed Tyranitars
It's severely unfortunate that I had to put some team last. Any team ranked could be the first fucking seed and win it all. With that being said, there's question marks on this roster that prompted me to throw them at 6 until I'm proven wrong. Fruhdazi is great, but vs an incredibly stacked ubers pool, I wouldn't be surprised if he went 0-5. Their OU tiers and support are good, but with a majority of their spending allocated there and very little manager support given to lower tiers, I'd be surprised if their lower tiers prosper as much as most other teams. There is potential there, especially with their OU core, but for now they go last
