ANTY UPLOAD
[OVERVIEW]
Guzzlord is a potent tank that can act as a wallbreaker with Choice Specs, its great bulk, and powerful STAB attacks. However, Guzzlord faces competition as a wallbreaker from some of the other Dragon-types in the tier such as Drampa and Alolan Exeggutor because its Special Attack stat is lower, although it carves a niche due to its bulk and unique typing. As a result, Guzzlord can check a variety of Pokemon with its Fire-, Water-, and Grass-type resistances such as Pyroar, Lanturn, Ludicolo, Lilligant and Manectric. Unfortunately, residual damage from Toxic and Scald burns obstruct Guzzlord's longevity. Futhermore, with a wretched base 43 Speed, Guzzlord has a very mediocre Speed tier that makes it easy to revenge kill. Additionally, being locked into a move after it scores a KO can be costly for Guzzlord because it may give a free setup opportunity to an opposing Pokemon.

Moves
========
Draco Meteor is Guzzlord's most vigorous STAB attack and hits everything bar Steel- and Fairy-types neutrally. Dark Pulse is Guzzlord's secondary STAB attack, which allows it to wallbreak without drawbacks. Fire Blast is perfect coverage for Guzzlord because it hits Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Mawile super effectively. Lastly, Sludge Wave is utilized to OHKO bulky Fairy-types such as Togetic and Granbull, which would wall Guzzlord otherwise.
Set Details
========
Choice Specs allows Guzzlord to become a wallbreaker. Beast Boost gives Guzzlord a Special Attack boost after it KOes a foe. This is useful because it makes Guzzlord a bigger threat coming off a 97 Special Attack stat. 252 Special Attack EVs with a Modest nature maximize Guzzlord's offensive prowess, ensuring it hits as hard as possible. 196 Special Defense EVs allows Guzzlord to be bulky, acting as a secondary Fire-, Water-, and Grass-type check for its teammates. Additionally, 60 Speed EVS allow Guzzlord to outspeed uninvested base 50 Speed Pokemon such as Mawile and Piloswine.
Usage Tips
========
Guzzlord penalizes most passive playstyles, so it should be used as a switch-in to passive Pokemon such as Sableye and Weezing. Guzzlord should be making use of its wallbreaking prowess during the early-game as much as possible so that its teammates can have an easier time later on. Despite Guzzlord's wallbreaking prowess, it still struggles to break through walls such as Audino, so prior damage on these Pokemon is necessary. Furthermore, prediction is very important when using Guzzlord because it opens holes for other team members to exploit if it uses the correct move. Lastly, be wary when locking Guzzlord into moves such as Fire Blast and Sludge Wave because they can give free setup opportunities to the opposing team, which can be costly.
Team Options
========
Guzzlord fits well on teams that need a pivot into Grass-, Fire-, and Water-types. Guzzlord's Dark-typing leaves it susceptible to Fighting-types, so Fighting-type checks such as Weezing make for good partners. Guzzlord likes to be brought in with a slow Volt Switch or U-turn, so pair it with Pokemon such as Lanturn and defensive Mesprit. Mesprit can also provide Healing Wish support for Guzzlord, which gives it another chance at wallbreaking. Hazard removers such as Hitmonchan make for good partners because Guzzlord does not like to come in while hazards are up, and Guzzlord pressures Ghost-types for Hitmonchan in return. Additionally, setup sweepers and late-game cleaners such as Primeape and Carracosta appreciate Guzzlord's wallbreaking capabilities.

Moves
========
Draco Meteor is Guzzlord's strongest STAB move, hitting Pokemon hard even without a boosting item; however, it is unreliable because it lowers Guzzlord's Special Attack and can miss. Dark Pulse is Guzzlord's secondary STAB attack and hits everything bar Fairy-, Fighting-, and opposing Dark-types. Fire Blast gives Guzzlord great coverage, allowing it to OHKO Steel-types such as Mawile and Ferroseed. Sludge Wave is utilized to OHKO Fairy-types such as Granbull and Togetic, which otherwise wall Guzzlord. Lastly, Earthquake allows Guzzlord to 2HKO Lanturn and Assault Vest Magmortar.
Set Details
========
Beast Boost boosts Guzzlord's Special Attack stat by one stage if it scores a KO, which is beneficial because Guzzlord's base Special Attack stat is only 97. Assault Vest boosts Guzzlord's special bulk further, while 252 Special Attack EVs with a Modest nature allow Guzzlord to hit as hard as possible. 196 Special Defense EVs allow Guzzlord to check Fire-, Water-, and Grass-types with ease. 60 Speed EVs enables Guzzlord to outspeed uninvested base 50 Speed Pokemon such as Mawile and Piloswine.
Usage Tips
========
Guzzlord fits well on bulky offensive and balanced playstyles that need a pivot into special attackers such as Magmortar and Lanturn. Guzzlord should also pivot into weak or resisted special attacks and fire back with a strong STAB move. While Guzzlord resists Dark, make sure that it does not get hit by Knock Off because it will hinder its ability to tank special moves. Guzzlord should spam Draco Meteor mainly versus offensive teams, since they usually lack appropriate switch-ins to the move.
Team Options
========
Guzzlord fits on teams in need of a Fire-, Water-, and Grass-type check due to its unique typing and bulk. Weezing makes for a decent partner because it appreciates the plethora of special attacks Guzzlord can tank while Guzzlord appreciates Weezing's ability to tank physical attacks. Weezing can also provide Toxic Spikes, which wears down the opposing team. Additionally, hazard removers such as Hitmonchan and Skuntank make for good teammates because they can remove the hazards that Guzzlords hates, since they wear it down fast. Moreover, Skunktank can also absorb Toxic Spikes for Guzzlord, and Guzzlord can pressure Ghost-types for Hitmonchan.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
A bulkier RestTalk set can be used to give Guzzlord some form of recovery. Alternatively, Guzzlord can be used as a Trick Room sweeper to take advantage of its mediocre Speed tier. Flamethrower can also be used over Fire Blast because it has no drawbacks. Dragon Tail is a neat option that forces switches and works well on hazard stacking teams. Lastly, Dragonium Z can be used to keep Guzzlord's item unrevealed and deal with its regular checks after they have been lured in.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types such as Mr. Mime, Mawile, and Togetic all check Guzzlord but have to watch out for Sludge Wave.
**Fighting-types**: Fighting-types such as Hitmonchan and Primeape can easily revenge kill Guzzlord or force it out.
**Residual Damage**: Status moves such as Toxic can wear Guzzlord down. Entry hazards can also hinder how many times Guzzlord is able to switch in.
**Faster Pokemon**: Due to Guzzlord's mediocre Speed tier, any fast Pokemon can easily revenge kill a weakened Guzzlord. Examples include Jynx and Ninjask.
