Moves
========

Waterfall does good damage against most neutral targets and is Gyarados's main attack. Dragon Dance allows Gyarados to boost its Attack and Speed. Stone Edge KOes Mega Charizard Y and drastically improves Gyarados's sun matchup sun teams, as well as enabling Gyarados to deal sufficient damage to Kyurem-B. It also hits Thundurus hard, but usually Gyarados is too threatened to attack anyway. Alternatively, Return still hits most Pokemon that resist Water such as Rotom-W, Latios, and Amoonguss for decent damage and with has better accuracy. Return is recommended over Double-Edge (add hyphen) because as a setup sweeper, Gyarados needs to maintain its longevity. If you're using Sitrus Berry, Taunt can be a niche option instead of Return or Stone Edge to help Gyarados deal with Amoonguss, but the coverage is still usually more appreciated. Protect allows Gyarados to stall out field conditions such as Tailwind and Trick room as well as allowing partners to remove threats such as Thundurus.
