hello i want to start a gym league here. i thought that it might be fun.
here are the rules
In this league, there will be 17 gyms, one gym for each type. Each gym will have 1 Gym Leader and up to 4 Apprentices. Each Gym Leader may have their own set of clauses, rules and guidelines, but they must use Pokemon of their Gym's type. Apprentices are also to use Pokemon of the Gym's type. However, Apprentices will always battle using 6vs6 or 3vs3 single battle. As a general rule, no Ubers shall be allowed.
gym ranking
If you become a Gym Leader or an apprentice, you'll be required to post your win loss record in your signature. Why? So we can rank the gyms. For each win a Gym Leader has, two points will be added to their Gym's total score, and for each win an Apprentice has, one point will be added to their Gym's total score. The Gyms will then be ranked each day from #1 being the best, to #17 being the worst. This will also allow Gym Leaders to rank their apprentices from #1 to # 8. The Apprentice ranking will be explained later along with its importance. The Gym ranking is just to see which gym works the hardest to become the strongest. The second post of this thread will be the Gym Rankings and the members of each gym.
to become a gym leader
-You must apply with a post on this thread, or a PM to me if you'd like to become a Gym Leader. When you apply, include the Gym's type, your Friend Code, your Time Zone (so we know when a good time to contact you is), and the first time that you'll be available for challenges from challengers.
-You MUST have at least one Apprentice for someone to challenge your Gym.
-Challengers MUST defeat at least 1 of your Apprentices before challenging you.
-You must use Pokemon only that contain your Gym's type. You are allowed to have any standard clauses that you wish, however. No Ubers are to be used. You decide whether your Gym Battles are Single or Double, and how many Pokemon you'll be using.
-You aren't required to use the same Pokemon each time.
-As a Gym Leader, you're required to have a reward for the people who defeat you. You must have at least 3 different Pokemon for the challenger to choose from. Challengers may choose any one of the prizes that they would like once they defeat your Gym. However, they may only receive a prize once. You will be required to tell me ahead of time or post in the thread the Pokemon that you will be awarding people with as prizes. They should be Pokemon of the type that your Gym is.
-If a Challenger loses, they can't challenge you until the next day. They aren't required to beat one of your Apprentices again though.
-As a Gym Leader, you'll be required to keep your win/loss record in your signature. You should show that you're a Gym Leader and then state your Gym's type.
-You must stay Active as a Gym Leader and be committed! Therefore, you must post in this thread at least once every five days. However, if you notify us that you'll be absent for more than five days and tell us when you'll return, I can either close the Gym for a short time, or let your #1 ranked Apprentice take over while you're away.
-You must NOT use hacked Pokemon or items. If I find out that you are, you will lose your position as an Apprentice or a Gym Leader.
to become apprentice
You must apply with the same format as you would if you were applying to be a Gym Leader.
-Challengers are allowed to challenge you as often as they wish. If they win, you must notify your Gym Leader so they're aware that they have a challenger to face.
-You must have your win/loss record kept in your signature or on one of your posts in the thread. You must also show what Gym you're a part of.
-You must have either 3vs3 single battles or 6vs6 single battles. No Ubers are to be used. -Generally, Auto level 50 or 100 will be used in your matches.
-You're required to use the same Pokemon each time you battle.
-No Hacked Pokemon or Items will be permitted.
-Once again, don't forget to update your win/loss record so we know how well the Gyms are doing!
-If you're the #8 ranked Apprentice in the Gym, beware, you may be automatically booted out because your leader gets beaten and replaced. Or you may get challenged by another person who wants to be an Apprentice, and if they beat you, then you'll be replaced with that person.
-you may be an apprentice in more than one gym. You may also be an Apprentice while also being a Gym Leader in a different gym.
to challenge a gym
To challenge a Gym, you must post which Gym you'd like to face, and when you'd like to face them. You must also post your time zone so we know our time differences. We'll also need to know your friend code.
-You must defeat one of the Gym Leader's Apprentices before you take on the Gym Leader of that Gym.
-When battling, make sure to follow any of the Gym Leader's clauses that they set, or else they have my permission to end the battle no matter what the situation is.
-If you defeat the Gym Leader, you get to pick a prize out of the three prizes that the Gym Leader supplies. However, you can only get one Prize Per Gym.
-If you lose to the Gym Leader, you'll have to wait until the next day to challenge them again. However, you won't be required to battle another Apprentice.
-You may NOT use any Hacked Pokemon or Items.
-No Ubers are to be used. An Apprentice or a Gym Leader may disqualify you if you're using an Uber.
taking over a gym
To try and boot out another Gym Leader and take their place isn't easy by any means. You must first defeat all of the Gym Leader's Apprentices using the type of that gym. Then you must battle the Gym Leader 3 times using the gym's type. If you win at least two out of the three times, you've gained yourself the position as the new Gym Leader of that Gym. If you're a Gym Leader, and somebody takes your position, you're automatically ranked as the #1 Apprentice until the day is over. At the start of the next day, you will be ranked according to how many wins you have compared to the other Apprentices.
becoming apprentice if list is full
If you're wanting to become an Apprentice in a certain Gym but there's no more room, you must apply first, like you normally would, and then battle the #8 ranked Apprentice. If you win, then you're automatically promoted to #8 ranked Apprentice. This probably won't happen a lot, but if it does, this is how you'd solve it.
quiting your gym
If you should happen to leave the Gym, you must give me a 3 days notice. If you're a Gym Leader, then you must PM your Apprentices and make sure that there will be a Gym Leader to take your place. However, should you decide to come back, just reapply
