THE TEAM
Yes, you've been fooled into looking at yet another rain team. It all centers on facilitating Accelgor Baton Passing Agility and/or Acid Armor to any of the other members of the team and opening up for a sweep, with rain support.
THE RAIN STARTER
Politoed @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 4 HP/252 SpA/ 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
- Perish Song
Politoed is 99% of the time my starter, and is the only member of the team that does not really benefit from Accelgors boosts because of the Scarf. Nevertheless, each team member greatly benefits from the rain he brings. Outside of that, he mostly serves as a revenge killer. Getting super effective damage on many of the metagames biggest threats (and many times nabbing a kill) is incredibly useful for any team. Perish Song can be used to force a switch or take out the final Poke on the opposing team. The Scarf causes almost any opposing weather to overtake his rain, but his moveset can severely dent any other weather starters.
THE PIVOT
Accelgor @ Mental Herb
Trait: Hydration
EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 Spe
Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SpA)
- Agility
- Acid Armor
- Baton Pass
- Rest
The focal point of my team. Accelgor pops in and out of battle to absorb some status or on anything that can't OHKO it, pops Agility (and sometimes an Acid Armor or two if they let me set up) and passes it to someone on the team who counters the opposing Mon. Max speed means that he will almost never be outsped, Hydration keeps him from being status'd, White Herb makes him Taunt-proof (once) and Rest gives him instant max recovery. His EV's make it so he can actually take a hit or two (although not usually more) and unlike most baton pass teams, instead of having many setups and one main recipient, I have one setup and many recipients, giving him a level of unpredictability.
THE SWEEPERS
Nidoking @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk
- Surf
- Earth Power
- Thunder
- Ice Beam
Nidoking is probably my favorite recipient of Accelgors boosts. Life Orb and Sheer Force increase the power of Earth Power, Thunder, and Ice Beam and he doesn't even take Life Orb damage. Surf does not receive the Sheer Force boost, but Politoed's rain actually makes it Nido's most powerful attack. He can come in on any electric attack for free and has 4 other resists to go along with it. Any water type bulky enough to survive Thunder can retaliate with any water move and put Nidoking down (Especially in the rain) but in that event I can just switch to a different counter.
Dragonite @ Leftovers
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
Modest Nature (+SpA, -Atk)
- Hurricane
- Thunder
- Dragon Pulse
- Roost
100% accurate STAB Hurricane and Thunder in the rain makes Dragonite a formidable force. Dragon Pulse isn't often used, but can easily handle other dragons. Multiscale allows Dragonite to tank through just about any attack coming from anyone not named Haxorus. This is pretty easily negated by the prevalence of Stealth Rock in the metagame, but Roost and Leftovers help to remedy the problem (sort of).
Scizor @ Occa Berry
Trait: Technician
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Bug Bite
- Brick Break
Scizor's only weakness is lessened in the rain and totally erased with the use of an Occa Berry (although he is somehow still killed by opposing Fire Blasts occasionally). After a Swords Dance, Scizors priority STAB Bullet Punch becomes very powerful indeed, as does Bug Bite. Brick Break is useful on the rare occasion that an opponent uses screens. He also loves a good speed and defense boost. Not a whole lot else to say about the 'Mon, as pretty much everyone has used him before.
UTILITY
Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SDef / 32 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
-Stealth Rock
-Wish
-Body Slam
-Iron Head
The Jirachi we all know and love provides great utility to my team. Stealth Rock hurts a lot of my teams biggest threats, and Wish support provides my team with a form of recovery. His bulk counters some huge threats (Tornadus-T) and the ParaFlinch combo can force a lot of switches along with crippling most opponents. Jirachi also doesn't mind the speed or defense boost from Accelgor, although he isn't usually my 1st choice to pass to.
OBVIOUS PROBLEMS
-No Grass or Fire move on team to speak of
-Weakness to entry hazards and no way to get rid of them (although I feel I should point out that the only one on my team who is not immune to Toxic Spikes is Politoed)
-Has trouble tanking powerful hits
I'm sure there are many more, as I'm not even going to go into a threatlist. As you can see, all of my sweepers have an immunity they can safely switch into (although no one really uses poison attacks for Scizor). This team does well, but not terrific. My only two staples on the team are Politoed and Accelgor, so if you can think of Pokes that would do better on the team with Baton Pass and rain support, your opinions are greatly appreciated. Happy rating!

PREVIOUS MEMBERS
Toxicroak @ Black Sludge
Trait: Dry Skin
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SpA)
- Swords Dance
- Drain Punch
- Sucker Punch
- Stone Edge
We all know Toxicroak is pretty beastly in the rain. Ideally, he would receive an Agility boost from Accelgor and come in on a water attack. This gives him time to SD and potentially tear through the entire enemy team. Drain Punch, Black Sludge, and Dry Skin give him supreme tanking abilities even without a Substitute. Sucker Punch takes out any Psychic types trying to get the better of him, and Stone Edge offers further type coverage. Black Sludge was chosen on the off chance someone tries to use Trick on him, although I've never been in this situation.
