I was surprised to see that the "Gen 8 OU" rules format allows things that are illegal in Gen 8, such as Excadrill with the move Toxic. It would be nice to have a format that matches the generation/competitive restrictions on cartridge for singles.

I have to imagine this question has come up before, but I wasn't able to find anything searching on the forums.

Ideally we should have a page detailing what people should do if they have format suggestions. We get them often enough that it would be nice to have a place to redirect people to.
