As some of you may have seen, X-Act has designed a formula that aims to prevent unfair losses due to hax. If one player haxes the other too much and wins the match, they will end up getting the loss while the other player receives the win. Now, this can be beneficial to the better players out there, such as Twist of Fate and Tay allowing them to have a slightly higher winning percentage, however to all the beginners, average, and above average players this will prevent them from reaching the next level and becoming a better player. If someone with an average rating happens to hax a player with a high rating where it may only slightly matter, the formula will take away the win from the average player when he may still have won the match without the hax. X-Act's formula doesn't even at least cause a draw if too much hax is involved. A player should never be penalized for something out of their control, like hax. Also, Hax can be considdered as skill. When you switch Tyranitar into Heatran, you know you are risking a burn and if the burn does occur, it's the users fault. The win shouldn't be given to the player who made a poor switchin. This new formula is totally outrageous. The formula has been implemented on one of Doug's private servers for testing, and it's gotten positive feedback. Enough positive feedback causing Jumpman to add it to the order of operations thread for testing next month! I would like to hear the average Smogon user's opinion on this matter, and hopefully if enough of you speak up we can prevent this from being implemented on the smogon server.
