HAX 'R US (OU)

Nothing is more annoying then an opponent scoring flinch/paralyze hax on you numberous times in a row. I decided to make a team based on that. The best thing is the two major hax pokemon Jirachi and Togekiss actually work together tremendosly well. this is the team i made.

Team at a glance:

In depth look:

SWAMPERT
swampert-1.png

Type: WATER/GROUND
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Relaxed (+Def, -Spe)
EVs:240HP/216Def/52SpA
Moveset:
Stealth Rock
Earthquake
Hydro Pump
Ice Beam

Swampert Is a very good bulky lead. Swampert almost always gets Stealth Rock off. Swampert can also counter a lot of other walls such as Azelf swampert can 2HKO with Hydro Pump, Bronzong cant deal much damage as Gyro Ball is laughed at, Metagross and swampert are equal as Metagross can really only Explode after both pokemon set Stealth Rocks up, Tyranitar is easily beaten with a could Earthquakes, Hippowdon is beaten with Hydro Pump, Aerodactyl can be 2HKO with Ice Beam to be safe with the 100 accuracy, and a normal Lead ape as long as it doesnt have grass knot is beaten by this lead.

Swamperts only weakness is GRASS which is easily countered by Togekiss, Jirachi, Infernape, and Zapdos.

TOGEKISS
Togekiss-1.png

Type: NORMAL/FLYING
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
Nature: Calm (+SpD, -Atk)
EVs:252HP/6Def/252SpD
Moveset:
Thunder Wave
Roost
Air Slash
Nasty Plot

Togekiss makes a pretty annoying haxer, and a very good Special Wall. This set gives your opponent's pokemon 25% of not attacking with the chances of para hax, and adds that if your opponent can attack, it has a 60% chance of flinching. this pokemon might not have to use roost to often as your opponent not being able to attack is a very high chance ande leftovers will really help with its recovery. Nasty plot helps togekiss set up for ptentially sweeping any foe it faces with its stab 75 power Air Slash. Togekiss is a very good spl wall, I like to counter gengars with my togekiss as Gengars Thunderbolt with life orb timid nature max sp attack, leaves Togekiss with a little over 50% HP creating a chance to roost up until thunder bolt leaves you with 75% hp and para flinch it to death.

Togekiss' weaknesses are ELETRIC, ICE, and ROCK. ELETRIC is best countered by Swampert as not many eletric pokemon can do anything to swampert as most Zapdos' run roar with Heatwave and Thunderbolt. Togekiss' ICE weakness is best countered by Jirachi, Starmie, and Infernape. ROCK is best answered by Jirachi and by Swampert.

JIRACHI
jirachi-1.png

Type: STEEL/PSYCHIC
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
Nature: Impish (+Def, -SpA)
EVs:240HP/160Def/80SpD/32Spe
Moveset:
Body Slam
Iron Head
Wish
U-Turn

This jirachi is basically kindof like Togekiss with haxing capabilities, and makes a good wall for both special and physical type moves. Whenever someone sees a Jirachi they usually switch to a Scarfed pokemon to counter to very Over Used Trick Scarf Jirachi. Usually these pokemon are counters to Jirachi such as a Flygon or Heatran. Thats why you always open up with a Body Slam. With its 60% chance of paralyzing you can even Paralyze your counters like Rhyperiors and Flygons and easily take them both out with your stab Iron Head. This Jirachi is also very useful for helping this teams most important sweeper, Infernape, as it cannot heal itself when it takes Life Orb damage every turn it attacks.

Jirachis weaknesses are FIRE and GROUND attacks. FIRE can be countered by Togekiss as it has tremendous special walling capabilitys, Swampert, Infernape, and Starmie. GROUND is easily countered by Zapdos and Togekiss and both of them are immune to those attacks.

STARMIE
starmie-1.png

Type: WATER/PSYCHIC
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Timid (+Spe, -Atk)
EVs:136HP/156Def/216Spe
Moveset:
Rapid Spin
Recover
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt

For this team I decided to finally try the famous spinning Starmie and was amazed by how amazingly well this pokemon works. I can always count on this pokemon to get rid of those pesky hazards that ruin all my pokemon. It also can be used as a weak sweeper. Recover helps this pokemon live for a long time just incase i dont kill my opponents pokemon who can set up hazards. Thunder bolt is for Gyarados', and i decided to pick Ice Beam over Surf for pesky dragons such as Salamence, Flygon and Dragonite which i happen to encounter in almost all of my battles.

Starmie's weaknesses are ELETRIC, GRASS, BUG, DARK, and GHOST. ELETRIC is best countered by Swampert. GRASS can be countered by Togekiss, Infernape, Jirachi, and Zapdos. BUG can be handeled by Infernape, Zapdos, and Togekiss. DARK can really only be handled by Infernape but probably can be better countered with either Swampert or Jirachi. GHOST is best countered by Togekiss as she is immune.

INFERNAPE
infernape-2.png

Type: FIRE/FIGHTING
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Naive (+Spe, -SpD)
EVs:64Atk/252SpA/192Spe
Moveset:
Close Combat
Fire Blast
Grass Knot
Hidden Power [ICE]

This Infernape is probably the best sweeper in my opinion. This pokemon breaks though almost all the hard walls such as Blissey, Skarmory, Umbreon, Dusknoir, Zapdos, Celebi, Forretress, Donphan, Bronzong, Hippowdon, and Swampert. And this pokemon can even beat sweepers such as Salamence, Flygon, Dragonite, Scizor, Porygon-z, Tyranitar, Electivire, and Lucario. By far a valuable asset to this team and he even gains support by Jirachi with Wish.

Infernape is weak to PSYCHIC, FLYING, GROUND, and WATER. PSYCHIC can be countered by Jirachi and Starmie. FLYING can be countered by Zapdos and Jirachi. GROUND can be countered by Zapdos and Togekiss. WATER can be countered by Starmie and if special based it can be countered by Togekiss.

ZAPDOS
zapdos-1.png

Type: ELETRIC/FLYING
Item: Lifeorb
Ability: Pressure
Nature: Timid (+Spe, -Atk)
EVs:6HP/252SpA/252Spe
Moveset:
Thunderbolt
Heat Wave
Hidden Power [GRASS]
Roost

Zapdos is rarely ever used as a special sweeper, so i decided to try and bring it back. With Life Orb Zapdos makes one of the most lethal Special Sweepers. The only pokemon that gives Zapdos a hard time is Blissey really. other then that Zapdos 2HKOs Salamences and Dragonites. 2HKOs Donphans with Hidden Power and OHKOs Swamperts. Roost is a good move for this Zapdos as it will usually on face small damage from its life orb and can pressure stall any threat if it needs to.

Zapdos is weak to ROCK and ICE. ROCK is best countered by Jirachi and Swampert. ICE is countered by Jirachi, Starmie, and Infernape.

Thanks for checking my team out, Please give me some advice. Im not to sure on using this zapdos as my Infernape uses 2 similar attacks to Zapdos leaving Zapdos really with only a Stab eletric attack. Im looking for any fast sweeper that gives good type coverage witht he rest of my team, and id prefer it to resist ground attacks. please help me out!

Thank you

Problems:

SubPetaya Empoleon
SD Lucario

How to fix:

Good build, hax teams are always fun to use, but these guys stood out in my mind as huge threat once you let it set up of course. Empoleon can set up Substitute in-front of Jirachi and Togekiss. As for Lucario you will need to rely on Body Slam from Jirachi to hax it, which is a pretty bad mindset. Btw, an Extremespeed will deal 78.88% - 92.86% on Zapdos, which is your only decent check and its a KO w/ SR down or a Close Combat following up an Extremespeed will kill it. On your info, you say you want a Ground-resist, well, Rotom-H will do the trick for you.

Rotom-H
@ Choice Scarf
Timid Nature (Spe+ / Atk-)
44 HP / 212 SpA / 252 Spe

- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Overheat
- Trick

This should be your safest switch-in for Lucario and a good replacement for Zapdos. You got your Ground immunity that you wanted and a good all-around check to guys like Gyarados and Lucario. Timid + Scarf ensures you outpace Bulky Gyarados after 2 DD's. Shadow Ball will get rid of opposing Ghost-types. Overheat scares away Lucario or just smashes it if it decides to stay in. Trick is your weapon against Blissey, screwing it over the entire match.

As for Empoleon potentially screwing you over, try Thunder Punch over U-turn on Jirachi to prevent it from setting up any Sub and replace Nasty Plot on Togekiss for Aura Sphere to provide solid coverage and prevent set-ups. As for having 2 Pursuit baits, you could try an SD Infernape which allow hi mto set up at least 1 SD with the moveset / Flare Blitz / Stone Edge / Mach Punch / Close Combat. Mach Punch ensures you further check Empoleon while SD + Flare Blitz + Close Combat is great for stall breaking. gl.

the only 'hax' part of this team is the jirachi/togekiss combination >_>

what you're doing now is fine, but you don't really take enough advantage of the luck flying around. at the moment, you have a little bit of paralysis support and a lot of sweepers. while this works to some extent, by slowing the team down a little and adding a LOT more paralysis support, you can give your opponent some REAL headaches. there are a few easy fixes that are apparent while still keeping the offensive nature of the team. the first thing you can do is switch zapdos to the tinkerbell celebi set

Celebi@Life orb
Bold nature
232 HP / 244 Satk / 32 Spe
-Leaf Storm
-Hp Fire
-Thunderwave
-Rest

tink does a few things for you. firstly, she lures in tyranitar, but more importantly, scizor, who gives you (especially togekiss) major headaches with his annoying bullet punching and not really caring about the drop in speed from paralysis. in addition, you gain a reliable status absorber, allowing you to switch more recklessly while you're spreading paralysis. the second pokemon I'd like you to try is bulk up machamp over infernape. machamp absolutely loves fighting paralysed opponents, because he is suddenly faster than them and can abuse parafusion to the fullest, garnering lots of free turns to bulk up and completely maul the opponent. with a status absorber and a wishpasser on the team, as well as natural bulk, you can keep him alive pretty easily so that he can abuse parafusion over and over again. by adding the extra bulk in the form of machamp > infernape, you can also afford to take a hit or two should your opponent get lucky enough to move.

Machamp @ Leftovers
Adamant nature
252 HP / 128 Atk / 128 Spe
-Bulk Up
-Dynamicpunch
-Stone Edge
-Payback

Machamp gives you a good switchin to tyranitar should he try to hassle togekiss, taking little damage from all the attacks he can deal. early in the game, he can force switches for you with dynamicpunch, allowing you to get more stuff paralysed, while later in the game he can just outspeed everything and sweep.

The last thing I'd like you to do is more of a minor nitpick than anything else. over uturn, which doesn't have tooo much place on this team, I'd like you to try fire punch to smash all the steels that want to come in on jirachi. without infernape, you may have a little bit of trouble facing them, so giving them one less oppertunity to switch in is always nice.

Good luck!

I hve a similar jirachi, to make your jirachi even more annoying try replacing u-turn with either swagger of dynamic punch to confuse your opponent and decrease there chances of attacking even more
