Haxxy fat dragon sweeps!

Hi guys and I'm back with a new team, but this one is still built around my favorite dragon pokemon of all time: Dragonite. On my last RMT, 4th Gen Fat Dragon sweeps focuses on wearing down my opponent's team and dragonite's counters so she could sweep. Here on my new team, the goal hasn't changed. It aims to wear down my opponent to open the door for dragonite using the tactic that rages and annoys the hell out of my opponents, making 1180 CRE players cry "STUPID NOOB HAXXOR!":

Paraflinch! *dun dun dunnnn*

Team building:

So I start off with my favorite dragon pokemon and one of the best set-up sweepers of all time (imho) dragonite.

I cant make a paraflinch hax team without paraflinchers can't I? So in comes the two cutest and most annoying pokemons, jirachi and togekiss.

Next I needed a good defensive lead. Swampert is a good defensive lead, as it sets up rocks and could shuffle my opponent's team early game.

Looking at my team I wanted a good revenge killer, and who else is better than choice band scizor? Priority and sky high attack? yes please!

For the last slot of my team, I wanted to try out a trick scarf rotom-h. It also adds a fire attack user as well as a electric attacker on my team.

In depth look of my team:

260.png

Swampert @ leftovers
Careful Nature
Torrent Ability
252 HP / 136 DEF / 100 SDEF / 20 SPD

- Stealth Rocks
- Roar
- Waterfall
- Earthquake

Bulky swampert with alot of investment in sdef to help my pert take special attacks better. Swampert sets up rocks and shuffles my opponent's team so I could scout early in the game and at the same time rack up SR damage. Waterfall and EQ for STAB damage, and 20 speed ev's for outspeeding other lead swamperts. The only regret that I have with pert is he doesn't have a reliable recovery move. I could use hippo as my lead but I dont want to batter my team with sandstorm damage :(

499.png

Rotom-H @ choice scarf
Timid Nature
Levitate Ability
252 SATK / 4 SDEF / 252 SPD

- Overheat
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Trick

My trick scarf rotom-h. Rotom brings into my team a good fire and electric attacker. STAB shadow ball and thunderbolt to take care of gengars/other rotoms and bulky waters. Overheat takes care of grass types such as shaymin and celebi, as well as steel types like scizor and skarmory. The thing I like about this set is it cripples one of my opponent's pokemon, be it a setup sweeper, or a support type pokemon such as blissey or vappy.

212.png

Scizor @ Choice Band
Adamant Nature
Technician Ability
240 HP / 252 ATK / 16 SPD

- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Pursuit
- Superpower

Standard choice band scizor. Revenge kills a lot of pokemon, and just flat out wrecks other teams if they're unprepared for him. That said, I focus on taking out other fire pokemon of my opponent, since fire pokemon in general wrecks my team. Bullet punch stab + tech + 591 atk dents a lot of pokemon, pursuit for ghost and psychic pokemons, superpower for blissey / t-tar and u-turn to scout.

385.png

Jirachi @ leftovers
252 HP / 16 ATK / 56 SDEF / 184 SPD
Jolly Nature
Serene Grace Ability

- Wish
- U-turn
- Thunder Wave
- Iron Head

Para flincher number one. Serene Grace jirachi just causes so much rage and swearing and trash talking that it just makes me smile. I'm thinking of changing twave for body slam so I could paralyze ground pokemons and volt absorb jolteon / motor drive electrivire. Iron head for stab and 60% flinch rate. I also use this jirachi as a wish passer, and I have u-turn for safe passing and as my secondary scout if I send jirachi out too early or something.

468.png

Togekiss @ leftovers
Modest Nature
Serene Grace Ability
252 HP / 120 DEF / 136 SDEF

- Roost
- Thunder Wave
- Nasty Plot
- Air Slash

Bulky para flinch togekiss. I'm thinking of changing nasty plot for heal bell, because my team doesn't really like status effects, but I'm still contemplating on losing my ability to sweep with togekiss but gaining survivability in return. Air slash for stab and 60% flinch rate, twave for passing paralysis around and roost for recovery.

149.png

Dragonite @ lum berry
Adamant Nature
Inner Focus Ability
232 HP / 24 ATK / 100 DEF / 116 SDEF / 36 SPD

- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Punch
- Roost

The star of the show. Yes the EVs are a bit weird but it helps me survive attacks that I shouldn't survive, and I just wanted to put some EVs in speed and attack. I would use some help on my evs, but I want a bulky dragonite both in def and sdef. Dragon Claw for STAB, and fire punch for steels that think to stall my dragonite out. Roost for recovery. I have a lum berry on her so I could care less on WoW/Twave that could otherwise make my sweep a bit harder.

So that's my team guys. It peaked at around 1118 CRE on Pokemon online, but it went down to 1052 due to some misplays on my part. I know I have some weaknesses for fire pokemon, mainly tran and mixnape. Pls rate and help me make my team better, thanks for reading my RMT!

As you mentioned in your rate, you have a pretty horrid weakness to heatran and infernape alike. Starmie and Breloom can be quite the problem too, especially if Rotom gets trapped by a pursuiter. Finally, you'll need to watch out for LO Jolteon; you'll have to do a lot of hopping around to get it in a health low enough.

The most immediate remedy to help fix this and keep with the purpose of this team is simply to swap scizor for Choice Scarf Tyranitar. However, having two of the biggest breloom magnets in the game is definitely not a good option, so something else must go too.

Here's another neat option: try Bulky DD Gyarados with thunder wave instead of taunt, which you can use over one of your other thunder-wavers. Gyarados helps a lot against Breloom, as well as the aforementioned Fire type Pokemon. With thunder wave support, it keeps with the spirit of the team, and with some Dragon Dancing havoc it can be an excellent wall-breaking partner with Dragonite. With a Jolly nature, Gyarados can even outspeed Jolteon at +1 and surprise it with an Earthquake, reliably luring and eliminating such a problem Pokemon.

If you feel up to it, you might want to implement both, because I can see them helping a lot. If you do not want to replace Scizor, you can consider revising it to a Scarf Scizor. The cool thing about this variant is that you can do really quick U-Turns to get a surprise kill on Starmie, do fast Pursuits against Gengar (also a problem if Togekiss is down and Rotom trapped), and Superpower non-Scarf Heatran for the Kill. Not to mention, Infernape that aren't paralyzed yet can be reliably revenge killed by superpower.

These are just my 2 cents. It's a pretty good team; good luck with it! :)

Thanks nameless for the rate, and yes I do have a glaring nape/tran/LO jolteon weakness, and I was actually thinking of replacing scizor with either a starmie set that I use or a scarf flygon. Below are the sets that I want to replace scizor with:

121.png

Starmie @ expert belt
Timid Nature
Natural Cure Ability
252 SATK / 4 SDEF / 252 SPD

- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Recover / ( Rapid Spin)

Surf over Hydro pump because of the accuracy drop. Each time I use pump I almost always miss on crucial situations (yes, I'm unlucky that way :P). Boltbeam for coverage, and I'm alternating between rapid spin and recover when I use this starmie. Problem is, if I use starmie over scizor, Jolteon gets A LOT more problematic as it outspeeds and KO's starmie with Tbolt. Another alternative is using a scarf flygon over scizor.

330.png

Flygon @ choice scarf
Adamant Nature
Levitate Ability
252 ATK / 4 SATK / 252 SPD

- Outrage
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Flamethrower

Standard scarfgon but I have adamant over jolly, and flamethrower over fire blast (again, accuracy :P). Helps alot against infernapes and heatrans as I outspeed them and attack with STAB EQ. Helps against jolteon too as I outspeed jolteon and retaliate with EQ, plus I could switch on a predicted tbolt and BOOM EQ on it's face.

Please help me pick :(

Hi Craptasterrific, cool team. It does have its flaws, like every team, but it's my job as a team rater to help you out on that!

First off, you're going to have massive problems against Life Orb Starmie and Jolteon. They easily 2HKO every member of your team at bare minimum, and nothing can really safely switch in. Your best option is to revenge with Scarf Rotom, but seeing as both these Pokemon often carry Pursuit Tyranitar as a partner, this is not the most reliable of strategies, as even if you don't get Pursuited to death, a smart player using them will force you to lose a Pokemon every time it switches in, not to mention Starmie can Recover up on a predicted switch in order to keep itself healthy. I think the best change to make is to use Fast Blissey over your Togekiss. This is a set that is tailor-made to function on balance/bulky offense teams such as yours. It does what Togekiss does by spreading paralysis, but it has two main advantages over the shelled bird. First off, it counters Starmie and Jolteon to no end, so you don't have to sacrifice something / pull off tricky switching just to try to revenge them with Rotom. Second, it is an amazing partner to your Dragonite, who is walled to death and set up on by common steels such as Scizor, Forretress, and Skarmory. Blissey lures them in, outspeeds, and either surprise OHKOs (Scizor, Forry) or 2HKOs (Skarm), paving an easy path for Dragonite to sweep.

Another suggestion I'd like to make is to use Life Orb Starmie over your Scizor. Judging by the above post, you were already considering this, and I think it is a very good idea, as Rapid Spin LO Star is very hard for stall to stop without losing all of its entry hazards. However, I think you should use it in the lead position - your team does not like hazards, and Starmie assures they won't be set up with its combination of speed, power, and access to Rapid Spin. It matches up advantageously versus many common leads today, whereas Swampert does not because everything has adapted to its presence. Its spinning ability also helps out Dragonite, who hates taking SR damage when switching into an attack.

tl;dr
-Fast Blissey > Togekiss
-LO Starmie > CB Scizor, move to lead slot

Sets
Blissey @ Leftovers | Bold | EVs: 44 HP / 252 Def / 120 SpA / 92 Spe
Flamethrower / Seismic Toss / Thunder Wave / Softboiled
Starmie @ Life Orb | Timid | 252 SpA / 4 SDef / 252 Spe
Hydro Pump / Ice Beam / Thunderbolt / Rapid Spin

The extra firepower that Hydro Pump provides is needed to secure several OHKOs against Pokemon that try to stop it. After Stealth Rock, it KOs Choice Band Scizor and Choice Scarf Tyranitar. It also 2HKOs max HP Jirachi (think Wish Calm Mind) who is not heavily invested in special defense, as well as OHKOing / 2HKOing offensive / defensive Rotom-A, who could otherwise stop your Rapid Spin.

I hope you take these changes into consideration. Good team, good luck!

Thanks for the rate Blazin Kickin Chicken, that blissey is a new set to me, never heard of it before. It caught my eye and I think I'll try it but I think I'll miss togekiss' ability to sweep and paraflinching, but I will still try it, as I am open in trying to make my team better.

On a side note on my weakness to jolteon/starmie/nape/heatran weakness, I was testing out my team and replaced my CB scizor for a scarf flygon and it worked a bit better..I went to flygon on predicted electric/ground attacks and attacked with STAB EQ / outrage and sometimes used u-turn for a double switch..It worked out better since starmie/nape/tran/raikou/jolty didn't run over my team like before. Starmie still hurts a bit but I can deal with it a lot better than before.

To make paraflinch even more effective teach one of your pokemon a confusing (don't know who maybe rotom but that'll change his whole set) move then send one of the paraflinchers giving an even lower chance of the opponent attacking back
