[SET COMMENTS]
Heatran is an excellent defensive pivot that uses its good bulk and typing to switch into dangerous special attackers like Tapu Koko. It can do this over and over again via Regenerator, and its excellent typing gives it key resistances to Fairy, Psychic, and Dragon. Stealth Rock provides Heatran's teammates with chip damage on targets that lack Heavy-Duty Boots or Magic Guard. Lava Plume is a STAB attack that can burn switch-ins such as Garchomp, generally deterring physical attackers from switching in. Earth Power hits other Fire-types, like Cinderace which are immune to burn, as well as Tapu Koko and Toxapex. Toxic can debilitate switch-ins that don't mind burn's Attack drop, such as Zapdos and Tapu Lele. Heavy Slam, when combined with Chople Berry, can let Heatran lure in special attackers with Fighting-type coverage, notably Tapu Lele. Protect is another option with Leftovers to scout Choice-locked Pokemon and gain more Recovery, notably working well with Toxic. Regenerator provides Heatran with significant longevity so it can stick around for longer games. Bulletproof makes it immune to Focus Blast, stifling special attackers like Tapu Lele, and the occasional other coverage move

Defensive Heatran is a great choice for a balance or bulky offense team to fall back on against powerful threats, such as Fairy- and Psychic-types. Grassy Surge Dhelmise weakens Earthquake, provides Heatran with additional passive recovery, and can force Water-, Fighting-, and Ground-types out. Lava Plume can also give Dhelmise a chance to set up a Swords Dance against burnt physical attackers. Volt Absorb Corviknight helps against Primordial Sea Zapdos, which can destroy Heatran with Weather Ball. Since Heatran is an excellent check to Tapu Koko, it pairs well with Pokemon that are forced out by it, such as Terrakion and Garchomp. Heatran running Stealth Rock can free up moveslots offensive threats, which provides excellent role compression.

Heatran is an excellent defensive pivot that uses its good bulk and typing to switch into dangerous special attacks in the Metagame attackers like Tapu Koko. It is able to do this over and over again via Regenerator, and can block certain moves if you decided to opt for Bulletproof as its ability, notably blocking Zap Cannon, Weather Ball, and Focus Blast and its excellent typing giving it key resistances to Fairy, Psychic, and Dragon. Stealth Rock provides Heatran's teammates with chip damage on targets that lack Heavy Duty Heavy-Duty Boots or Magic Guard. Lava Plume is a STAB attack that can burn switch-ins such as Garchomp and generally deter physical attackers from switching in. Earth Power hits other Fire Types and Other Heatran, which would be immune to Lava Plume's Burn effect Fire-types like Cinderace that are immune to burn, as well as Tapu Koko. Toxic can also cripple switch-ins that wouldn't be affected burn, such as Special Attackers Zapdos and Tapu Lele. Heavy Slam, when combined with Chople Berry, can lure Special Attackers special attackers with Fighting-type coverage, notably Tapu Lele and Alakazam. Heavy Slam OHKOs Tapu Lele, and has a chance to OHKO Alakazam. Protect is another option that can be also be used with Leftovers to scout Choiced Choice-locked Pokemon and gain more recovery, notably working well with Toxic. Regenerator provides Heatran with Recovery when it switches out, whilst Bulletproof allows Heatran to completely wall Sheer Force Tapu Lele and No Guard Genesect significant longevity so it can stick around for longer games. It is noted that Leftovers should always be ran when using Bulletproof, as Heatran will have no recovery otherwise.

Defensive Heatran is a great choice for a Balance or Bulky Offense team balance and bulky offense teams that needs a teammate to fall back on against powerful threats, such as Fairy- and Psychic-types. Pokemon that can take attacks that hit Heatran super-effectively are great partners. Grassy Surge Dhelmise weakens Earthquake, provides Heatran with healing because of Grassy Terrain additional passive recovery, and can threaten Water-, Fighting-, and Ground-types out due to its Ghost and Grass-types. Lava Plume can also give Dhelmise a chance to set up a Swords Dance against burnt physical attackers. Volt Absorb Corviknight can help against Primordial Sea Zapdos, which can destroy Heatran with weather ball Weather Ball, and Bulletproof variants don't take Thunder too well, and hate the Paralysis chance. Pokemon that don't enjoy fighting against Tapu Koko enjoy Heatran's presence Since Heatran is an excellent check to Tapu Koko, it pairs well with Pokemon that are forced out by it, such as Terrakion and Garchomp. Heatran running Stealth Rock can free up slots for those offensive threats to run more moves, which provides excellent role compression. Due to its ability to check Fairy Types bar Primordial Sea Primarina and Regenerator Tapu Fini most Fairy-types, Pokemon that enjoy having Fairy Types checked are exceptionally weak to Fairy, such as Dragon's Maw Hydreigon, make great partners too.

QC 1/2! Nice job. After discussing with the rest of the QC team, this set should just be focused on Regenerator, not Bulletproof, so a number of the corrections reflect that.

Heavy Slam, when combined with Chople Berry, can lure special attackers with Fighting-type coverage, notably Tapu Lele and Alakazam. Heavy Slam OHKOs Tapu Lele, and has a chance to OHKO Alakazam. (Honestly, Alakazam is of questionable relevance to me in terms of changing an entire Heatran set to Chople Berry + Heavy Slam. I'd argue it's almost entirely for Tapu Lele). Protect is another option that can be also be used with Leftovers to scout Choice-locked Pokemon and gain more Recovery, notably working well with Toxic. Regenerator provides Heatran with Recovery when it switches out, significant longevity so it can stick around for longer games.

Heatran running Stealth Rock can free up slots for those offensive threats to run more moves, which provides excellent role compression. Due to its ability to check most Fairy-types, Pokemon that are exceptionally weak to Fairy, such as Dragon's Maw Hydreigon, make great partners too.
1. Considering how good/common Tapu Fini is, I think framing Heatran as a check to "most" Fairy-types is misleading, and thus also defeats the dmaw hydreigon point). A much more relevant point is how heatran checks Genesect on any team with weaknesses to the bug + boltbeam coverage it often carries, which hasn't been mentioned a single time in this analysis but is extremely important to note.
2. Also,
Mew is a pretty good partner for closing out a hazard stack core with Spikes and should definitely be mentioned.
3. Garchomp should also be mentioned since Heatran defensively switches into Mew for it (resists ice beam, immune to wisp, doesn't really care about eating volt switch, doesn't really mind body press either).
4. If Dhelmise gets a mention, Zarude should as well since it does a lot of the same things + is more relevant to the metagame.

------
There should be a mention of Will-O-Wisp at least in other options, if not slashed into the main sets themselves. It's a legitimately good option for crippling opposing Swampert and Garchomp as they try to switch into Tran (or even in a 1v1 vs swampert), and it still gets chip dmg on things like Fini, Zapdos, and Toxapex.

I felt there were some pretty important elements missing, but otherwise the analysis was solid so should be simple enough to close this out once added in.

You can also change the title to “Heatran [Done]” to make sure we know everything is implemented.

I won’t have a computer until Thursday and mobile uploading is beyond pain, but someone will do it soon!
