Monotype Heatran (Steel)

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Eruption
- Flamethrower / Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock / Dragon Pulse

Choice Scarf Heatran is an unorthodox yet potent set because of its ability to spam a powerful Eruption against types like Electric and Ground and fill a speed control role, notably allowing Excadrill to use a setup set instead of Choice-locking itself. Furthermore, its item allows Heatran to outspeed threats like Landorus-T, Galarian Moltres, and Kyurem. One of Flamethrower and Fire Blast is required due to Eruption's damage output being reliant on Heatran's current HP stat. Earth Power targets Fire- and Rock-types like opposing Heatran, Cinderace, and Terrakion. Stealth Rock provides role compression and can trick the opponent into thinking Heatran is not Choice-locked; however, Dragon Pulse is an alternative to hits Dragon-types like Hydreigon and Dragapult. Swords Dance Excadrill and Choice Specs Jirachi make great teammates, as they're no longer limited to running Choice Scarf. Ferrothorn provides Spikes and checks Water-types like Tapu Fini and Swampert, while Corviknight checks Ground- and Fighting-types like Excadrill and Keldeo and provides U-turn momentum to bring Heatran in safely for powerful Eruptions.

Choice Scarf Heatran is an unorthodox yet potent set because of its powerful Eruption and its speed control role, notably allowing Excadrill to use a setup set instead of being choice-locked. Furthermore, Choice Scarf allows Heatran to outspeed threats like Landorus-T, Galarian Moltres, and Kyurem. Flamethrower and Fire Blast are interchangeable and either is required due to Eruption's damage output being reliant on its current HP stat. Earth Power targets Fire- and Rock-types like opposing Heatran, Cinderace, and Terrakion. Stealth Rock is compression and it can trick the opponent assuming it's not Choice-locked, however, Dragon Pulse is an alternative to hits Dragon-types like Hydreigon and Dragapult. Swords Dance Excadrill and Choice Specs Jirachi make great teammates as they're freed from their speed control roles. Ferrothorn provides Spikes and checks Water-types like Tapu Fini and Swampert. Fighting-type checks like Aegislash and Corviknight also make great teammates check threats like Galarian Zapdos and Terrakion.
U didn’t tag me noob

Would talk about how eruption is super spammable against types steel is not great against like electric and ground which is why Heatran is good as a scarfer even if it’s expected, otherwise looks good. Also focus on corviknights uturn in particular bringing it in in matchups like ground and flying so it can click eruption nicely and cut out aegislash because aegi is applicable to the whole team. Choice Scarf Heatran is an unorthodox yet potent set because of its ability to spam a powerful Eruption which is spammable against types like Electric and Ground and its fill a speed control role, (ig i can technically let this slide here but preferably change this to act as a revenge killer or smth) notably allowing Excadrill to use a setup set instead of being choice-locked Choice-locking itself. Furthermore, Choice Scarf its item allows Heatran to outspeed threats like Landorus-T, Galarian Moltres, and Kyurem. One of Flamethrower and Fire Blast are interchangeable and either is required due to Eruption's damage output being reliant on its Heatran's current HP stat. Earth Power targets Fire- and Rock-types like opposing Heatran, Cinderace, and Terrakion. Stealth Rock is provides role compression and it can trick the opponent assuming it's into thinking Heatran is not Choice-locked; (SC) however, Dragon Pulse is an alternative to hits Dragon-types like Hydreigon and Dragapult. Swords Dance Excadrill and Choice Specs Jirachi make great teammates, (AC) as they're freed from their speed control roles no longer limited to running Choice Scarf. Ferrothorn provides Spikes and checks Water-types like Tapu Fini and Swampert, (comma) while Corviknight checks Ground- and Fighting-types like Excadrill and Keldeo and provides U-turn momentum to bring Heatran in safely for powerful Eruptions.
