* Heatran packs a high Special Attack and access to both Max Steelspike and Max Quake to boost both of its defenses, making it a potent special attacker that's equally difficult to take down.

* Heat Wave gives Heatran a consistent spread move while also serving as the base move for its powerful Max Flare. Its ability to set sun for itself is incredibly useful, strengthening its Fire-type attacks and covering for its Water weakness.

* Flash Cannon is useful for hitting the numerous Ice- and Fairy-types in the metagame like Glastrier, Clefairy, and Grimmsnarl. Heatran also appreciates the Defense boost from Max Steelspike, which allows it to take a Max Quake from Garchomp at +1 Defense.

* Earth Power complements Heatran's STAB move combination well by nailing Fire-types like Incineroar while also being helpful for hitting Regieleki and Nihilego.

* The Speed EVs allow Heatran to outrun Adamant Tyranitar as well as Pheromosa in Tailwind. The HP investment combined with a Shuca Berry allows it to easily survive a Max Quake from Landorus-T.

I'm happy with this as the addition. There's a formatting error in the set itself that I'd like you to try to spot. A question I'd like to pose as well is: does Steelspike make you live anything notable? If not, I feel as if saying it boosts Defense is completely fine.
