Heliolisk's fantastic Speed tier, which puts it above Keldeo, Terrakion, and Cobalion, in addition to a strong STAB Volt Switch makes it a solid offensive pivot in UU. Dry Skin provides Heliolisk with a Water immunity, which allows it to switch in to Water-type attacks from the likes of Mantine, Rotom-W, and Keldeo, though it must be wary of Secret Sword from the latter. Grass Knot is a blessing for Heliolisk, nailing Ground-types like Rhyperior, Gastrodon, and Palossand with a hard hit and making them think twice before blocking its Volt Switch. Hyper Voice is preferred in Heliolisk's last slot to give it a harder neutral hit on the likes of Rotom-C, Flygon, and Roserade; Focus Blast can be used instead, allowing Heliolisk to devastate Tyranitar, Cobalion, and Kyurem, though its shaky accuracy makes it less reliable, and the former two Pokemon don't really appreciate a Volt Switch to begin with. In addition, these Pokemon can be broken down over time by Heliolisk's STAB attacks; as a result, Focus Blast is best used on teams that are weak to these threats that appreciate the immediate pressure it places on them. Heavy-Duty Boots is chosen as Heliolisk's item to preserve its HP when entry hazards are on the field, making it very difficult to wear Heliolisk down, and it also gives it a great matchup against Sticky Web teams. A boosting item like Life Orb or Choice Specs can be used instead, but cutting into Heliolisk's longevity and ability to switch moves is usually not optimal.

Heliolisk fits best on teams that appreciate an offensive check to the likes of Terrakion, Keldeo, and non-Choice Scarf Mienshao, as well as a Pokemon that can reliably come in on Water-types like Rotom-W, Mantine, and Slowking, though it must be mindful of Psyshock. It fits perfectly in VoltTurn cores with the likes of Noivern, Keldeo, and Scyther, which can bring Heliolisk in safely on Pokemon like Rhyperior, Slowking, and Cobalion, respectively. Heliolisk also appreciates support from powerful wallbreakers like Obstagoon and Choice Band Terrakion, to blow up Pokemon like Sylveon, Kyurem, and Tyranitar, all of which can be annoying for Heliolisk, the latter two particularly if Heliolisk lacks Focus Blast. Entry hazard support from Pokemon like Krookodile, Roserade, and Golisopod is helpful, because Heliolisk forces a lot of switches, and damage from these hazards and Heliolisk's Volt Switch will add up very quickly. Galarian Weezing is also a great partner, being able to set up Toxic Spikes and also providing a check to Pokemon like Choice Scarf Mienshao and Lycanroc-D that Heliolisk struggles with. Pokemon that check Toxtricity are important to pair with Heliolisk, as Toxtricity uses Heliolisk as a setup opportunity thanks to Punk Rock weakening Heliolisk's Hyper Voice, or it can just switch in to Heliolisk and retaliate with a powerful attack. Rhyperior, Tyranitar, and Jirachi are all excellent partners for this role. Jirachi can also provide Heliolisk with Wish support and act as a capable check to Fairy-types that Heliolisk struggles to break, like Sylveon and Hatterene. It can also bring Heliolisk in safely on Pokemon like Cobalion and Slowking with U-turn.

Heliolisk's fantastic Speed tier something explicit about how it outspeeds Musketeers would be worthwhile imo and strong STAB Volt Switch make it one of the better offensive pivots UU has to offer. i'm not particularly sold on it being one of the "better" pivots when you consider its splashability issues, calling it a solid pivot or something sounds more accurate. Dry Skin provides Heliolisk with a Water immunity, which allows it to switch in to Water-type attacks from the likes of Mantine, Rotom-W, and Keldeo, though it must be wary of Secret Sword from the latter. Grass Knot is a blessing for Heliolisk, nailing Ground-types like Rhyperior and Palossand with a strong hit and making them think twice before blocking its Volt Switch Definitely mention Gastro too. Hyper Voice is preferred in Heliolisk's last slot to give it a stronger neutral hit on the likes of Rotom-C, Virizion, well yes but its spdef is so ridiculous that it really doesn't help a huge amount unless you have a lot of chip, I would probably prefer to just mention Flygon or something and Roserade; Focus Blast can be used instead, allowing Heliolisk to devastate Tyranitar, Cobalion, and Kyurem, though its shaky accuracy makes it less reliable, and neither of those Pokemon really appreciate a Volt Switch to begin with. you can definitely also mention how Hyper Voice is capable of 2HKO'ing Kyurem on switch in if Rocks are up anyway, non spdef ttar is also just 2HKOd by Grass Knot on entry and if its spdef you really have to watch out for the Chople too doing this, tbh I feel like vs Coba you'd also rather not risk the miss a lot of the time either unless Heliolisk is functionally useless at that point. Definitely tough to reflect all of this, but i'm sure you'll find a way, ie. when you call it less reliable also call it generally risky vs those targets etc.

Heliolisk fits best on teams that appreciate an offensive check to the likes of Terrakion, Keldeo, and non-Choice Scarf Mienshao. Maybe try and expand on this point a bit more because the first thoughts that go through my head rn reading this sentence are "why not just use starmie/noivern instead", so i'm sure a reader might have this question too, commenting on some other stuff about how it provides a washtom switch in (wow rare af) and takes advantage of Slowking too or something seem appropriate. It fits perfectly in VoltTurn cores with the likes of Noivern, Keldeo, and Scyther, all of which can bring Heliolisk in safely on Pokemon like Rhyperior, Slowking, and Cobalion, respectively. Heliolisk also appreciates support from powerful wallbreakers like Obstagoon and Choice Band Terrakion, which can blow up Pokemon like Sylveon, Kyurem, and Tyranitar, all of which can be annoying for Heliolisk, particularly if it lacks Focus Blast. Galarian Weezing is also a great partner, being able to set up Toxic Spikes and also providing a check to Pokemon like Choice Scarf Mienshao and Lycanroc-Dusk that Heliolisk struggles with. Jirachi can provide Heliolisk with Wish support and act as a capable check to Fairy-types that Heliolisk struggles to break, like Sylveon and Hatterene. It can also bring Heliolisk in safely on Pokemon like Cobalion and Slowking/Skarm if you want another mention with U-turn.

Volt does nothing to Kyurem, I'd just say 'to the former two' Kyurem is also 2HKOd by Hyper Voice after Stealth Rock, Cobalion is 2HKOd by Thunderbolt, and offensive Tyranitar is 2HKOd by Grass Knot, so Focus Blast can feel unnecessary at times. We discussed this over Discord, but I would reword this to give Focus Blast a little more value by specifying some of the OHKOs it values to help revenge kill certain foes, then lead into how its usual coverage allows it to 2HKO said threats on the switch. Heavy-Duty Boots is chosen as Heliolisk's item to preserve its HP when entry hazards are on the field, making it very difficult to wear Heliolisk down, and it also gives it a great matchup against Sticky Web teams. This move doesn't help with Sylveon, so you'll need to reword this Entry hazard support from Pokemon like Krookodile, Roserade, and Golisopod is helpful, because Heliolisk forces a lot of switches, and damage from these hazards and Heliolisk's Volt Switch will add up very quickly. Galarian Weezing is also a great partner, being able to set up Toxic Spikes and also providing a check to Pokemon like Choice Scarf Mienshao and Lycanroc-Dusk that Heliolisk struggles with. I'd give some mention to Pokemon that can help with Toxtricity because it is one of the few Elec-types that uses Heliolisk as an opportunity to set up or wallbreak, due to the Punk Rock and Hyper Voice interaction.

252 SpA Heliolisk Hyper Voice vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Punk Rock Toxtricity: 87-102 (29.8 - 35%) -- 19.4% chance to 3HKO
