VGC Help making a VGC Regulation G Zekrom Team

I know Raging Bolt exists, but I really wanna try and make Zekrom work. I also realize with the team that if I were to run Zekrom, Pelipper would probably work better than Iron Jugulis due to rain, though as of the current team I was just theory crafting. While I think the team I have is just okay for now, it can most definitely be improved. Here’s the team, and each role that they play:

Zekrom - The star of the team, and the main damage dealer, with moves like Bolt Strike and Dragon Claw, while also having moves like dragon dance and protect to threaten a sweep.

Iron Jugulis - Pretty much always ran at the front, either with Zekrom, Urshifu rapid strike, or Sneasler. It also runs electric terrain to boost Zekrom’s bolt strike, while also preventing moves like spore, and sleep in general. It also runs snarl to hit both opposing mons, as well as lower their special attack. Contains tailwind too for speed control, and has a speed booster energy in order to get tailwind off as soon as possible.

Sneasler - Sneasler is on the team to cause statuses on enemy mons, such as poison, and paralysis. It runs close combat along with white herb and an unburden ability, that way, sneasler can get off a free close combat without any stats lowered, while also doubling their speed. They also have coaching in order to support other pokemom like zekrom, flutter mane, or urshifu rapid strikes.

Urshifu rapid strikes - Urshifu was my answer to an enemy incineroar lead, with moves such as aqua jet and surging strikes. It has focus sash in order to prevent an ohko early game.

Flutter Mane - Flutter mane is the next damage dealer next to Zekrom, typically put in the back of the team. While its EV spreads are made for Flutter Mane to be strong special attack wise as well as speedy, it also runs icy wind to maintain the speed control for the team.

Tsareena - Tsareena is here as an optional pokemon. They are here for situational outcomes, having strong moves like high jump kick and power whip, while also running rapid spin in order to gain speed, or to finish off any low hp pokemon.

The team will be left below here for anybody to try, but if you have any tips or suggestions on how to improve the team, I’d greatly appreciate it!

Hi Neko_Atsumaki! I am locking your RMT for the time being as the forum rules require that you provide at least three lines of descriptions for each Pokemon to explain their roles. Please read the rules carefully and look at the Team Showcase to see the detail we require. PM me with updated descriptions, and I will be happy to unlock this. Also, feel free to PM me if you need help or have any questions. Have a nice day!
To PM someone on Smogon, go over their name on any of their post. It will display a little pop-up with a summary of their profile. Then, hit the "Start conversation" button and you will be able to write a PM just like you write a regular thread.
Why did you choose this Pokemon? What do the EV spreads do and why do you have it? What are all 4 moves for?

If you’d like a team to be handed to you, I suggest you ask in the DOU room on the simulator or check out the DOU sample teams.

I'd run queenly majesty on tsareena, leaf guard is for sun, if at all. Lefties are fine on lots of things, but not max offense mons. Zekrom should have an offensive item, esp without a defensive Tera Imo. If keeping an offensive Tera for extra STAB, I'd go electric easy, more total power, better coverage than dragon, and a better defensive type still.

I have NEVER seen acrobatics on ursh, didn't even know it got it. If ask around if that's viable at all. Tsareena may as well drop rapid spin without spe evs, you still won't be fast really, even in tailwind cause THEY probably do tailwind/trick room.

And why gunk shot with dire claw sneasler? Dire claw is mostly better. I guess in a terrain team you can't make them sleep so maybe...but if it is situational for you, drop it and keep gunk shot imo.

If try water ursh and a defensive type jugulis. It isn't doing much damage with snarl, so better to be water or what have you got tanking some hits.

Flutter likes fairy>ghost I'm positive, as moonblast is higher BP. You could try fire as well.

This team is definitely a little all over the place– for starters, Zekrom is an essentially unviable restricted that gets outclassed by both Miraidon and Koraidon, you're running bad moves on a lot of your mons over Protect or STABs (electric terrain jug, rapid spin tsareena, acrobatics urshifu, gunk shot sneasler when you already have dire claw, flutter mane is running mystical fire over dazzling gleam???)

I would start from the beginning: what are you trying to build? If it's Zekrom, okay, not a good mon, but we can find some better partners and sets than what you have now. If it's Sneasler, okay, try something like this– it won a major VR event.

Basically, what do you actually want to build, does it have any successful builds to base a team on (and if not, what mons might it be good with), and what partners might actually synergize well with it and each other to create a cohesive team

You can find a list of sample teams here, use these to get started!

I get running diff stuff. So even though Zekrom SEEMS greatly outclassed by mir, I won't push for that swap. However, what I DON'T get is why you're not them running kyurem black. That has a Zekrom in it, but also should be better than actual Zekrom. You basically trade electric for ice, kinda yuck but meh, and get stats for it.

Edit: in vgc here kyu b no longer merits rank um. I will look into if it's better, albeit still 'bad.'

2nd edit: stats higher across the board. Only reason to zek is if zacian is big trouble.

Zacian still shits on Zekrom, Kyu-B is just better overall but it's like a trash vs garbage situation. Both only have mid at best matchups into Terapagos I guess, and they struggle with everything else.

Oh yeah lol. That was ONLY last gen, Max let you take pr but ofc not blade for kyu b.

Uh yeah. I play singles, kyu b is very mid and zek bad. Here might be even pickier about what works.

Edit: maybe fly zek? It is ok cause mir can't go off terrain ofc, helps differentiate imo.
