Help me improve my Team :D

So, my old thread got deleted because I didn't write 3 lines per Pokemon but that wont happen again (hopefully :P). I will write a few lines to every Pokemon of my Team at the bottom of this post.

Nidoking: He's one of my Special Attackers. I basically took the build from VGC'12 but replaced Protect with Shadow Ball as it proved pretty much useless in numerous fights. Thanks to Sheer Force he isnt damaged by Life Orb and hits pretty hard with every attack. He replaced my Tyranitar after coming to the conclusion that Tyranitar is just too slow and weak against Fighting-Types wheareas Nidoking is both faster and has an awesome resistance to Fighting-Types due to it being a Poison-Type.

Electivire: Is one of my favourite Electric Pokemon right now and a Physical Attacker. I gave him the Muscle Band because i try to avoid having same items on my team and because it increases the strength of physical attacks. The best thing about it and the reason I chose Electivire is its amazing speed which allows me to often OHKO the opponent before he even attacked. He also survives most attacks with a little bit of HP left for a counter.

Hydreigon: Replaced my Dragonite as I noticed that having having 3 Flying-Types is too easy for the opponent. I use him as a Mixed Attacker who is able to OHKO or at least punch severe wounds quite often thanks to Expert Belt. It also has great speed . Superpower is used to surprise the enemy with a sudden physical attack. Im thinking about switching in some other Dragon-Type due to the fighting weakness but I'm not sure which one would work out best here. Feel free to suggest replacements ;)

Gyarados: My favourite Water-Type and another Physical Attacker. I gave him Focus Sash to survive the first round 100% to allow a Dragon Dance. After that, it outspeeds most other Pokemon and also hits harder thanks to the attack-boost. Waterfall is his STAB move and i chose Stone Edge over Earthquake because many others on my team already use Earthquake. I chose Gyarados because of its base Atk which along with its Speed and Dragon Dance is able to devastate many teams.

Snorlax: He is one of my alltime favourite Walls :P I use him as a mix between Wall and Physical attacker (also known as Curselax) which seems to work pretty often. I also chose Bodyslam over Return because of the para-effect which saved my life a few times. I used this build since diamond and pearl and I'm pretty sure he is the most useful Pokemon in my team currently. I often end up with him as my last Pokemon and easily disposing of 2-3 enemies. Im thinking about replacing Rest with Crunch but I'm like to hear opinions first.

Charizard: Is my favourite Fire-Type and another Special Attacker. Fire Blast and Air Slash are its STAB's and build a nice coverage along with Focal Blast. I gave it a Quick Claw because it can sometimes save its life when the opponent happens to be faster but low on HP. Sometimes I give it a Wide Lens to prevent its Fire Blast and Focal Blast from missing. I used to use a Solar Power build but found this one to be better in terms of surviving.

Soooo, I tried to build a team out of my favourite Pokemon and to have a great mixed tier team out of this! Pls rate my team and help me improve it !

thx in advance!

greetings,

What tier is this exactly? If this is OU you shouldn't just pick your favorites. Also put data under the sprite. If you want to be rated. Make this team actually competative as 4/6 of your team is below OU and halve of that are in RU and below. To prove my point, look at your items. Muscle band on electavire. Im not saying your dumb, you just need guidance. Try smogons tutoring program to help you get better.

I clearly stated why I gave Electivire Muscle Band and this is supposed to be mixed tier. Thanks for the reply though.

Garchomp For President, I think you need to understand that you don't have to just use OU Pokemon in OU. snorlax works in higher tiers, and his team isn't as bad as you make it out to be. I think you need to start learnin to rate teams better.

Okay, first of all, mix tier will not get you far. If you want my opinion, try OU to begin with and as you gain some experience, you will do better in OU and lower tiers too.
I cannot give a proper rate because there are too many things you can change, but if you will, read this, it will help you.

Using your favourites is, imo, the ABSOLUTE BEST way to get you started, because:
1) Total beginners don't know about many things in smogon, tutor porogram included (but you can give it a shot as well in 29 May when the registrations re-open)
2) You begin to play your favourite game with your favourites because they draw you into the game, they "motivate" you.
3) There is a method to get better: Teambuild at random, LOSE BATTLES (yes, lose, it's OK), learn from your mistakes, try again. Many players get stuck on step (1), you haven't.

However, what I recommend you to do is: Use your FAVORITES but select them ONLY AMONG OU pokemon.

For example, change:
Charizard with Infernape (with Life Orb and U-Turn) OR Ninetales (with Drought)
Electivire with Magnezone (with Leftovers and Magnet pull ability and Hidden Power Fire and Volt switch)
Nidoking with Kuyrem-Black (with Choice band)
Change Hydreigon's Superpower to U-turn and give it a completely special set (optional, you don't have to do this)
Change Earthquake on Snorlax with Sleep Talk
Edit: this team is actually too weak to fighting, so you may want to try Jellicent>Snorlax or Latios>Hydreigon

Bingo, you already have an amazing core, known as Drag'n'Mag (drag mag for short) with powerful OU pokemon.

This strategy revolves around trying to make a matchup of an opposing Steel type and your Magnezone. Magnet pull prevents them from escaping so that you can dispose of them with HP Fire. Infernape is also good at dealing with steel types. If you opt for Ninetales, you will also be on your way to learn about how weather teams work.
Then your dragons are free to wreak havok with their STAB (same type attack bonus) attacks (Outrage, Draco Meteor).

This is a simple strategy, as you can see. However, prepared opponents may see through this and change their game plan. Try to work your way around your mistakes and become better.

Yes, you still will lose a lot with the team I suggested. All I did was give you a slightly better starting point.

Hope I helped!

PS: If you are an experienced player, please do not start criticising this post. I know this is not even remotely a SOLID OU team. All I (hope I) did was give him a better starting point.
PS2:
What tier is this exactly? If this is OU you shouldn't just pick your favorites.
Yes, he should. He has to get started somehow.
Also put data under the sprite. If you want to be rated.
That's completely optional, and the PS screenie actually is the best idea I've seen. Nothing is easier to read.

What does it look like he is here for.....

Thank you for your reply Exbo. I have some questions to your post though:

1. What exactly do you mean with "favourites only among OU"? you mean use only some favourites along with other OU Pokemon?
2. Is there a way to keep Nidoking and replace some other Pokemon? Or change Nidos moves and stats?
3. I dont have B/W 2 so Kyurem versions fall apart
4. It would be awesome if you could tell me which stats I should give your suggested Pokemon. (or just tell me if theyre on this website :P)

1) No, I mean take all the OU pokemon (link on previous post) and make a team from them.
2) Nidoking isn't really viable in OU. You may want to choose Ninetales then to somehow resist one of his weaknesses (water) and change Protect and Sludge wave to Fire blast/Flamethrower and Thunderbolt. Maybe Stealth rocks since your team has no hazards.
Or you can switch to UU! Come join us!
3) Are you playing on your DS and not PS, and you only have BW1 so there no way for you to get black kyurem? Is that what you mean?
4) Infernape: 252 atk, speed, 4sp.def, +speed nature
Ninetales: 248 HP, 252 sp.def, 8 speed +spdef nature
Kyurem-B: 252 atk, speed, 4 spdef +speed nature
Magnezone: 4HP, 252 sp.atk, speed, +sp.atk nature
(yes, they are on this site... just follow the links!)

1. alright
2. i see
3. yes exactly
4. thank you :D

Well I thought that you'd like Kyurem-B since it bears some resemblance to Nidoking (design-wise).
I dunno, try out a Choice Band Haxorus or a Life Orb Garchomp. Garchomp can also carry Stealth rocks you know :)

I decided to change my team according to your suggestion. but imma leave nidoking in there for now (with thunderbolt and flamethrower).
what do you think of alakazam? i would replace nidoking with him if its wise^^

Okay, this is starting to get really stretched. Post an importable from PS with the team as it is now and we can go from there.

there you go!

little annotation: replace Nido with Alakazam? and what about Jolteon? Id prefer him over Magnezone...

I suggest Alakazam over Nidoking since your team is really weak to Keldeo. Snorlax and Magnezone gets taken out by a secret sword and they can't take hits in the rain. Alakazam blaze speed outspeeds all non scarf Keldeo and the focus sash prevents it from being ohko by scarf sets. Magic Guard prevents your sash from being ruined and for your gyarados, I don't like the idea of a focus sash on it. I don't see the point. I think you would like the bulky dd set as you're playing with your favorites. It also gets a lot of set up opportunities.

This is an OU team in importable format:
The Fn Man (Infernape) (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk
Hasty Nature
- U-turn
- Close Combat
- Fire Blast
- Mach Punch

The Kyubi (Ninetales) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Def
Sassy Nature
- Flamethrower
- SolarBeam
- Dark Pulse
- Hidden Power [Ground]

The Beast (Venusaur) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Synthesis
- SolarBeam
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Ice]

The Kraken (Tentacruel) (M) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 4 SAtk / 252 HP / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Beam
- Acid Spray
- Giga Drain

The Guard (Terrakion) @ Life Orb
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Rock Polish
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

The Wingman (Gliscor) (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 184 Def / 252 HP / 72 Spd
Bold Nature
- Knock Off
- Toxic
- Protect
- Roost
This is also a good example of a team.
There is a Sun setter (Ninetales), a mixed wall breaker/scout (Infernape), two sweepers (Venusaur and Terrakion), and three walls (Ninetales, Gliscor and Tentacruel).
Try to have a goal when placing each pokemon in a team.

The above suggestions are really good, use them. Do not drop Magnezone because Magnet pull (enemy steel types cannot switch) is the only point of using it. Unless you want to do a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT team, which is fine.
If you don't like Magnezone, alternative trappers are Wobbuffet, Gothitelle and Dugtrio. But I strongly recommend Magnezone if you're going to go with dragmag after all.

Jolteon is very useful in rain because of perfectly accurate Thunder and its blazing speed. But rain means you'd have to change everything bar Alakazam and that's not the point of this forum.

@TheSuperSaiyanBreloom: Actually, Gyarados is the best Keldeo counter there is, unless Keldeo has HP electric.
Same goes for Celebi and HP bug but this team has Gyarados.

EDIT: Your Infernape is perfect.
Hydreigon: Try Outrage over U-Turn (sorry to make you change this twice) for the surprise attack.
Magnezone: Flash Cannon has bad coverage, try Substitute. Chances are enemy defensive steel types will not do much to you so they might not even break the sub with 1 hit, you'll also dodge status.
Unless you want to try using a second trapper, choose Magnet rise over Volt switch.
Put Stealth rocks on SOMETHING! Look what happens when there are no rocks! (unbroken sashes etc.)
