Help with Stall team!

The Idea behind this team is counter lead setups and then stall. This starts with...

Starmie@Life Orb [Timid]
4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe

Hydro Pump
Thunderbolt
Grass Knot
Rapid Spin

Timid Hydro Pump OHKO's Hippowdon. Modest Surf does not. Many lead pokes are surprised to be OHKO'd by Hydro Pump such as Azelf, Gengar, Jirachi, etc. The ones with Focus sash and typically SR users - No problem, I'm faster and I finish them off with rapid spin. More often than not, when facing a SR lead, I end up with ~83-91% Health and they lose their lead, with no SR. Grassknot is for swampert. I used to run with Tbolt, but found the need for GK later on. I am now considering running recover. When expecting a lightning attack, I then then switch to my spiker.

Nidoqueen@Leftovers [Impish]
252 Def/252 HP/4 Atk

Toxic Spikes
Stealth Rock
Earthquake
Roar

Switches in on Thunderbolts aimed at Starmie. Roars away Subbers, Dancers, Bellies (they pop up every now and then), etc. Sets up Stealth Rock and Toxic Spikes. Often expected to be a sweeper and thus walls are usually switched in. Other times Forretress is sent in as well.

Magnezone@Leftovers [Timid]
220 Spe/252 SpA/36 HP

Thunderbolt
Hidden Power:Grass
Magnet Rise
Substitute

Counter for Agility-less Metagross, Skarmory, Forretress, Bronzong, Steelix, etc. Scizor, I've learned, is best left to Weezing. This Magnezone isn't a one trick pony however, I've taken down sweeping Gengars and Infernapes with careful planning.

Spiritomb@Leftovers [Calm]
252 HP/112 Def/144 SpD

Shadow Ball
Hidden Power: Fighting
Rest
Sleep Talk

I removed Lucario and replaced him with this Spiritomb as I was having trouble with Gengar and needed a spin blocker. I also felt Lucario didn't fit well into the team and was merely a standalone sweeper with no synergy. This is a typical set that deals with Donphan, Starmie, Forretress, and Tentacruel. Could switch Shadowball for Dark Pulse to deal with Claydol but I have seen so few of them I will probably not bother. This is obviously a stall set to work with toxic spikes. That is why I don't use Will-o-wisp. The other reason is..

Weezing@Leftovers [Bold]
252 HP/252 Def/4SpA

Fire Blast
Thunderbolt
Pain Split
Will-O-Wisp

I love this Weezing. He is easy to switch in on most physical sweepers, being immune to everyone's favorite physical attack, Earthquake. Zen Headbutt often causes trouble, however.

Blissey@Leftovers [Calm]
252 Def/68 HP/188 SpD

Wish
Thunder Wave
Flamethrower
Protect

Seriously considering changes this this moveset. Protect loses value with the addition of Spiritomb to block explosions. Both of my walls now have a fire move, So perhaps I should switch to Ice beam. Thunderwave is often unusable due to Toxic Spikes. Wish is still solid. I still do not need Aromatherapy due to 2 natural cures, NQ's immunity to Para/Toxic, Spiritomb's rest, and Magnezone's sub, let alone the fact that Weezing hardly ever faces status users.

As a final note, I feel I should replace either Weezing or Magnezone as they both serve the same general purpose.

Weezing is a good physical wall but Spiritomb can be as well.

Right now Spiritomb and weezing both stop Fighting moves aimed at blissey, and both weezing and magnezone generally stop Steel-types who are immune to toxic. Everyone can shrug off psychic moves but NQ.

As it stands, I feel a bit of redundancy between Spiritomb/Magnezone/Weezing and Blissey's moveset does not compliment the rest of the team well enough.

Opinions on replacing Blissey with:

Dragonite@Lum Berry [Adamant]
252 HP/48 Atk/208 Spe

Dragon Dance
Outrage
Earthquake
Roost

Can switch in on annoying fire users like Scarf Heatran which I otherwise can hardly deal with. Shares strong resistance synergy with Magnezone, Can take down special walls easily. Magnezone can also switch in for most ice beam users as many carry a boltbeam or surf set like stalling Vaporeons/Suicunes. Starmies are always met with Spiritomb. The only thing I lack is wish support, So I may switch Starmie to Recover. NQ is expendable after spiking

Another option would be...

Snorlax@Leftovers [Adamant]
252 HP/252 Def/4SpD

Body Slam
Whirlwind
Rest
Sleep Talk

Spread SR damage, would be better with regular spikes though. Perhaps I will save that one for another team with Forretress or Skarmory.

I guess the main problem is, this isn't a Stall team. You're relying on Nidoqueen, which isn't particularly reliable, to get up both SR and Toxic Spikes.

First thing, you want a reliable special wall and physical wall. You have Blissey, which is boring but unequivocally the best (although you might want to change your set once you get the team members right). Next, Weezing doesn't really cut it as a physical wall. It doesn't have recovery outside of Pain Split, for one thing, which is necessary for something like Weezing without the incredible resistances which Skarmory and Forretress get.
Since this seems like your first stall team, go with a Skarmory. This is pretty easy to use alongside Blissey and can take your Spikes responsibilities.

Toxic Spikes now, which aren't necessary but recommended particularly to stop CurseHippowdon and Crocune and so on. Forretress can't do this now because its otherwise redundant alongside Skarmory, so you can keep Nidoqueen and let it focus on just getting TSpikes up, or you can go for a defensive Roserade set (which has nice SpDef, along with good speed and special attack even without much investment). Or, you can use Tentacruel which Rapid Spin's AND lays poisonous spikes.

A spinblocker is likewise pretty essential, otherwise all those hazards are wasted. Rotom-A, Gengar and Dusknoir are the best ones, but for typical slow and annoying stall Rotom-A is by far the best choice.

These are a few staples of stall which are pretty much necessary on full stall. When you're making a team, just focus on getting up hazards, keeping them there (spinblocking), and abusing them.

Good luck:)

Well, I see your point. This team may not be classified as full stall but it could most likely suit the definition of semi stall.

Let's talk about weaknesses. What OU threats immediately come to mind concerning my team here?

Spiritomb is my spin blocker and is a decent staller.

A stall team with Forretress is sheer madness.

Forretress @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful nature (+SpD, -SpA)
- Spikes
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Payback

This would mean you can replace Rapid Spin on Starmie to Recover. And you're almost guaranteed at least 1 layer of SR and maybe 1-2 of Spikes. I find Forretress much more effective than Nidoqueen.

Why Spikes over Toxic Spikes?

would suggest changing your lead, starmie is a good pokemon to have on the team but not the strongest stall lead. you want a lead that can set up entry hazards or cause weather effects.
also whats with toxic spikes, will o wisp, and thunderwave all in the same team? may want to consider changing that, your just gonna end up blocking yourself

Hi there mate here are a few suggestions I got for you^^:

1) As people have stated earlier remove Spiritomb for Rotom-h, spritomb gets hit by all kinds of entry hazards and Rotom boasts greater defensive capabilites and better movepool.

Rotom-h@Leftovers
- Discharge
- Will-o-wisp
- Rest
- Sleep talk
252hp/200def/58sp.def Bold

You have something to take physical hits much better form behemoths such as Scizor and Mamoswine, Will-o-wisp dents most physical sweepers rendering them useless.

2)Replace Nidoqueen with Roserade.

First of roserade is also poison type so you have your toxic spikes absorber and secondly she takes specially orienated hits like a champ. You also have natural cure which can be a great asset to a stall team.

Roserade@Black sludge
- Toxic spikes
- Hidden Power Fire
- Energy ball
- Rest

Rest+natural cure is the main reason Roserade is so much better than her fellow poison type sister, Nidoqueen.

Now that you have an electric type Magnezone is dead weight and this is the golden oppurtunity to replace it with something to patch up your huge mix ape weakness.

Vaporeon@Leftovers
- Surf
- Wish
- HP electric
- Protect
100hp/252def/150sp.def/8Speed Bold

you now have a second wish passer maybe allowing you to revolutionize Blissey into a cleric with aromatherapy(if you want).

It's a bit late now so I'll rate later, GL MAN!!
