[OVERVIEW]

Fighting
========

* Heracross is an important asset to Fighting because of its valuable Bug-type STAB that allows it to deal with Psychic-types, high base Attack, and extensive movepool.
* Heracross is also blessed with two useful abilities in Guts and Moxie.
* The former allows Heracross to beat status users such as Mega Sableye, while the latter allows it to sweep when its checks are weakened
* Heracross also has a useful defensive typing, with a resistance to Grass, Ground, and Fighting.
* It's also the only viable user of Knock Off for Fighting teams.
* However, Heracross's defenses are nothing special, and it is slower than other common Choice Scarf users such as Victini and Excadrill.
* It also has to rely on Megahorn to eliminate threats, which has middling accuracy.
* Heracross also faces competition from Buzzwole, another viable Bug / Fighting type that has higher Attack and better physical bulk. However, Heracross is faster, has stronger STAB moves, and has a more useful ability in Guts.

Moves
========

* Megahorn is an incredibly strong STAB move that helps eliminate Psychic-types that threaten Fighting teams, such as Latios and Mega Alakazam.
* Close Combat is Heracross's other powerful STAB move, providing decent neutral coverage when coupled with Megahorn. It can also reliably sweep late-game when Heracross's checks are weakened.
* Knock Off is used to hit the Ghost-types that resist both of Heracross's STAB moves as well as crippling opposing pokemon that rely on their items, such as Doublade and defensive Staraptor.
* Stone Edge allows Heracross to hit Flying-types that resist both of its STABs like Mantine, Bug-types that resist Close Combat, and Fire-types that resist Megahorn.

Set Details
========

* Maximum Attack EVs allow Heracross to hit as hard as possible.
* Maximum Speed EVs and a Jolly Nature along with a Choice Scarf let Heracross outspeed threats such as +1 Gyarados, Choice Scarf Gardevoir, and Choice Scarf Togekiss.
* Guts is the ability of choice because it allows Heracross to deal with status-spreading Pokemon such as Mega Sableye.
* Moxie can be used to help Heracross sweep opposing teams; however, the utility of Guts is generally more useful for Fighting teams.

Usage Tips
========

* Heracross should use Knock Off early-game to cripple the walls that would switch into it such as Toxapex by removing their item. However, many setup sweepers that use Z-Moves such as Volcarona use Heracross locked into Knock Off as setup bait.
* Heracross should also be used to revenge kill most slower threats, such as Latios and Togekiss.
* Be careful when locking Heracross into Close Combat when your opponent has a Ghost-type, like Mega Sableye on Dark teams, because, if they switch to it, Heracross will be forced to switch and will lose momentum.
* Heracross should be switched into Will-O-Wisp and Toxic to activate Guts and become an extremely strong wallbreaker, but be careful when switching Heracross into attacks because of its subpar defensive stats.
* Double switching to a teammate can often be the right choice, as Heracross is easily walled and often forces switches to walls that can be taken advantage of.
* Heracross can become an excellent late-game sweeper, especially with Moxie, but try to keep it as healthy as possible so it isn't picked off by a faster Pokemon or priority user such as Choice Scarf Keldeo or Choice Band Dragonite.

Team Options
========

* Heracross pairs well with most Fighting-types because of its ability to eliminate Psychic-types with Megahorn and can also damage Ghost-types with Knock Off.
* Keldeo can handle Gliscor, Mega Scizor, and Skarmory for Heracross, while in return Heracross removes Psychic-types that wall Keldeo such as Celebi and Slowbro.
* Choice Scarf Terrakion can handle Choice Scarf users that outspeed Heracross such as Victini as well as Flying-types that would switch into Heracross. Alternatively, Rockium Z Terrakion can easily break through the physical walls that would stop Heracross in its tracks.
* Cobalion can set Stealth Rock for Heracross as well as switch into Psychic-type attacks aimed at Heracross. Cobalion can also cripple faster threats with Thunder Wave such as Choice Scarf Latios and safely bring Heracross in with Volt Switch.
* Infernape is a more offensive option for setting Stealth Rock that can also deal with the bulky Steel-types that wall Heracross, such as Mega Scizor, Doublade, and Skarmory.
* Lucario can handle the Fairy-types that completely wall Heracross with Steel STAB attacks and can weaken its checks to allow Heracross to sweep late-game.
* Breloom can provide support with Spore as well as beat the bulky Ground-types that wall Heracross, such as Hippowdon and Gastrodon.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Fighting
--------
* Pursuit can be used over Knock Off to trap Victini that are attempting to switch, but it fails to OHKO Victini even at -1 Defense.
* Earthquake can be used over Stone Edge to target Toxapex, Magearna, and Doublade; however, it fails to 2HKO Toxapex and Doublade and also leaves Heracross unable to deal significant damage to Flying-types.

Checks and Counters
===================

Fighting
--------
**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types such as Clefable and Tapu Fini take minimal damage from all of Heracross's moves and threaten it out with their STAB moves. Clefable can also set up Calm Mind on it.

**Flying-types**: Flying-types such as Gliscor and Zapdos resist both of Heracross's STAB moves, although Zapdos fears the 2HKO from Stone Edge.

**Skarmory**: Skarmory hard counters Heracross, can set up entry hazards against it, and threatens it out with Brave Bird.

**Doublade**: Doublade takes minimal damage from all of Heracross's moves and sets up Swords Dance against it, although it hates having its Eviolite removed.

**Poison-types**: Defensive Poison-types, such as Crobat and Toxapex, resist both of its STABs and can easily switch into Heracross, although Crobat fears Stone Edge.

**Physically Defensive Walls**: Walls such as Alomomola and Hippowdon take little damage from Heracross's attacks and can recover their health with Wish and Slack Off, respectively, although neither like having their Leftovers removed.

**Fire-types**: Although Fire-types fear Stone Edge, many of them such as Volcarona can take one of Heracross's other attacks and KO it with their STAB attacks. Even Torkoal can 2HKO it with Lava Plume, and its amazing bulk allows it to survive two Stone Edges.

**Revenge Killers**: Faster Choice Scarf users such as Kyurem-B and Victini and priority users such as Dragonite can KO Heracross after some prior damage.

Moves
========

* Megahorn is Heracross an incredibly strong STAB move and helps eliminate Psychic-types that threaten Fighting teams such as Latios and Mega Alakazam.
* Close Combat is Heracross's other powerful STAB move, providing neutral coverage when coupled with Megahorn. I wouldnt exactly say it's provides neutral coverage, since it still cant hit poison, flying, fairy, or ghost types.
* Stone Edge allows Heracross to hit Flying-types that resist both of its STABs for example Mantine, hits the Bug-types that resist Close Combat, and the Fire-types that resist Megahorn.
* Knock Off is used to hit the Ghost-types that resist both of Heracross's STAB moves as well as crippling opposing pokemon that rely on their items, such as Doublade and Defensive Staraptor. I dont think either of them are too relevant this gen, instead just say that it has good utility in removing items from both walls and offensive mons alike.

Set Details
========

* Maximum Attack EVs allow Heracross to hit as hard as possible.
* Maximum Speed EVs and a Jolly Nature along with a Choice Scarf let Heracross outspeed threats such as +1 Gyarados, Scarf Gardevoir, and Scarf Togekiss.
* Guts is the ability of choice because it allows Heracross to deal with status spreading Pokemon such as Mega Sableye.
* Moxie can be used to help Heracross sweep opposing teams, however the utility of Guts is generally more useful for Fighting teams. Moxie is probably OO worthy, Guts is the second biggest reason why fighting teams use heracross aside from its bug stab.

Usage Tips
========

* Heracross should use Knock Off early-game to cripple the walls that would switch into it such as Toxapex by removing their item.
* Heracross should also be used to revenge kill most slower threats, for example Latios and Togekiss.
* Be careful when using Close Combat when your opponent has a Ghost-type. All types that close combat is meant to be used against, like steel, rock, and normal, dont really have a ghost type, bar doublade which isnt relevant. I dont think this bullet is really needed, it doesnt say anything important.
* Heracross should be switched into Will-O-Wisp and Toxic to activate Guts and become an extremely strong wallbreaker, but be careful when switching Heracross into attacks because of its subpar defensive stats. Mention that caution should be taken when switching into Toxic, since the chip damage is much higher than burn and can easily wear it down quickly.
* When using Moxie, Heracross can become an excellent late-game sweeper, but try to keep it as healthy as possible so it isn't picked off by a faster Pokemon or priority user. Moxie isnt on main set, assuming QC agrees with it.

Team Options
========

* Heracross pairs well with most Fighting-types because of its ability to eliminate Psychic-types. Also mention that it is one of the more viable knock off users, making it good against ghost as well.
* Keldeo can handle Doublade and Skarmory for Heracross, while in return Heracross removes Psychic-types that wall Keldeo such as Celebi and Slowbro. Mention Gliscor instead of doublade, add mega scizor as well.
* Choice Scarf Terrakion can handle Choice Scarf users that outspeed Heracross such as Victini as well as handle Flying-types that would switch into Heracross.
* Cobalion can set Stealth Rock for Heracross as well as switch Psychic attacks aimed at Heracross. Cobalion can also cripple faster threats with Thunder Wave such as Choice Scarf Latios.
* Infernape is a more offensive option for setting Stealth Rock that can also deal with the bulky Steel-types that wall Heracross, such as Mega Scizor, Doublade, and Skarmory.
* Breloom can provide support with Spore as well as beat the bulky Ground-types that wall Heracross, for example Hippowdon and Gastrodon.
* Kommo-o. Checks mega venusaur, good set up sweeper than takes advantage of hole punched in an opponent's team by heracross. Takes on physical walls as well if running a special set.

Fighting
--------
* Pursuit can be used over Knock Off to trap opposing Victini that are attempting to switch, but it fails to OHKO Victini even at -1 Defense.
* Earthquake can be used over Stone Edge to target Toxapex and Doublade, however it leaves Heracross completely walled by Flying-types. Flying types dont completely wall it, since they are still hit by knock off. Reword into saying that it has no reliable way of damaging flying types.
* Moxie

Checks and Counters
===================

Fighting
--------
**Fairy-types**: Fairy types such as Clefable and Tapu Fini take minimal damage from all of Heracross's moves and the former can set up Calm Mind on it. They also threaten heracross with their stab moves.

**Flying-types**: Flying types such as Gliscor and Zapdos resist both of Heracross's STAB moves, although Zapdos fears the 2HKO from Stone Edge. What do they do in return? Skarm can set hazards, gliscor can set up swords dance or knock off its choice scarf, etc.

**Skarmory**: Skarmory hard counters Heracross, can set up entry hazards against it, and threaten Heracross out with Brave Bird. Probably just add this to either Flying types or physically defensive pokemon.

**Doublade**: Doublade takes minimal damage from all of Heracross's moves and sets up Swords Dance against it. Doublade isnt relevant enough to have its own section imo.

**Fire-types**: Defensive Fire-types such as Torkoal resist Heracross's Megahorn and can threaten it with Fire-type STAB. I dunno if this is worth a section, most fire types are hit with stone edge and close combat, the only one that can survive a 2HKO from both is torkoal, which is still a shaky check as best and would probably fit better in the physically defensive section if anything. Any other fire type that threatens it is faster than it, and there are actually only a few, namely victini and mega zard x after a ddance, which would probably fit better in the faster pokemon section. This is up to QC.

**Poison-types**: Defensive Poison-types, for example Crobat and Toxapex, can easily switch into Heracross, although Crobat fears Stone Edge. Mega venusaur as well.

**Physically Defensive Walls**: Walls such as Alomomola and Hippowdon take little damage from Heracross's attacks and can recover their health with Wish and Slack Off respectively, although neither like having their Leftovers removed.

**Faster Pokemon / Priority**: Faster Choice Scarf users such as Kyurem-B and priority users such as Dragonite can KO Heracross after some prior damage. Add scarf victini, it is the most common scarfer on psychic and outspeeds heracross.

6ti do these from HNBL. I disagree with the rest, if you want to know why PM me:
* The former allows Heracross to beat status users such as Sableye, the latter allows it to sweep when its checks are weakened. Mega Sableye, regular sableye just isnt that relevant this gen.
* Keldeo can handle Doublade and Skarmory for Heracross, while in return Heracross removes Psychic-types that wall Keldeo such as Celebi and Slowbro. Mention Gliscor instead of doublade, add mega scizor as well.

Overview:
- I'd note its almost exclusive access to viable Knock Off.
- Its defenses are hardly "poor".
- Megahorn's accuracy isn't that bad.
- Definitely bring up the competition with Buzzwole. You're rarely gonna use both because of redundancy, so you need to discuss that.

Set:
- Knock Off is better than Stone Edge. You rarely actually use Stone Edge because most teams have a wall that freely switches into it.

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf (Fighting)
move 1: Megahorn
move 2: Close Combat
move 3: Knock Off
move 4: Stone Edge
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Guts
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Moves:
- Reorder Knock Off and Stone Edge.
- I'd note that Close Combat is a great tool for cleaning late-game.

Usage Tips:
- Heracross can be a good cleaner without Moxie, so you should say especially with Moxie or something like that.
- Talk about being careful with Knock Off as well. Many setup sweepers carry a Z-Ring and are able to use Heracross as setup bait with ease.
- Definitely talk about double switching. Heracross is one of those Choice Scarf users that is walled by a pretty ridiculous range of enemies, so double switching out of Heracross is actually something you'll be doing a lot.

Team Options:
- Definitely add Lucario for checking the Fairy-types that all wall Heracross.
- Also talk about Z-Move Terrakion.

Other Options:
- Do mention that Heracross cannot 2HKO either without the Guts boost, and both of them are very good at taking advantage of Heracross if it uses Earthquake without a boost. You can add Magearna to EQ targets too btw.

Checks and Counters:
- I'd add Fire-types below walls

Alright, feeling sorta better

[Overview]:
+ Discuss what qualities that Buzzwhole has in which Heracross doesn't have, then what does Heracross have over it.

[Usage Tips]:
* Heracross should use Knock Off early-game to cripple the walls that would switch into it such as Toxapex by removing their item. However, many setup sweepers use Z-Stones, which cannot be Knocked Off, making a Heracross locked into Knock Off setup bait.
+ Mention examples of potential Z setup sweepers. It'll be helpful for the reader to be aware of who they need to watch out for.
* Be careful when locking Heracross into Close Combat when your opponent has a Ghost-type, because if they switch to it, Heracross will be forced to switch and will lose momentum.
+ Add an example such as Mega Sableye on Dark teams.
"Double switching to a teammate can often be the right choice, as Heracross is easily walled and often forces switches to walls that can be taken advantage of."
+ Is this supposed to be on the bullet point above it or a separate bullet point? Confused here.

[Team Options]:
+ Note that Cobalion can provide Volt Switch for support, especially for an offensive attacker like Heracross.

Just minor nitpicks well done. 6ti

Not QC, but it's rather redundant to say that Heracross faces competition from Buzzwole because it gives Heracross competition.

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types (AH) such as Clefable and Tapu Fini take minimal damage from all of Heracross's moves and threaten it out with their STAB moves. Clefable can also set up Calm Mind on it.

**Flying-types**: Flying-types (AH) such as Gliscor and Zapdos resist both of Heracross's STAB moves, although Zapdos fears the 2HKO from Stone Edge.

**Skarmory**: Skarmory hard counters Heracross, can set up entry hazards against it, and threatens Heracross it out with Brave Bird.

**Doublade**: Doublade takes minimal damage from all of Heracross's moves and sets up Swords Dance against it, although it hates having its Eviolite removed.

**Poison-types**: Defensive Poison-types, for example such as Crobat and Toxapex, resist both of its STABs and can easily switch into Heracross, although Crobat fears Stone Edge.

**Physically Defensive Walls**: Walls such as Alomomola and Hippowdon take little damage from Heracross's attacks and can recover their health with Wish and Slack Off, (AC) respectively, although neither like having their Leftovers removed.

**Fire-types**: (Add space after colon before "Although") Although Fire-types fear Stone Edge, many of them such as Volcarona and can take one of Heracross's other attacks and KO it with their STAB attacks. Even Torkoal can 2HKO it with Lava Plume, (AC) and with its amazing bulk allowing allows it to survive two Stone Edges.

**Revenge Killers Faster Pokemon / Priority**: Faster Choice Scarf users such as Kyurem-B and Victini and priority users such as Dragonite can KO Heracross after some prior damage.

[OVERVIEW]

Fighting
========

* Heracross also faces competition from Buzzwole, another viable Bug / Fighting type with that has higher Attack and better physical bulk. However, Heracross is faster, has stronger STAB moves, and has a more useful ability in Guts.
* Even so, Heracross is a great choice that fits on every Fighting team.

Moves
========

* Megahorn is Heracross an incredibly strong STAB move and that helps eliminate Psychic-types that threaten Fighting teams, (AC) such as Latios and Mega Alakazam.
* Stone Edge allows Heracross to hit Flying-types that resist both of its STABs for example like Mantine, hits the Bug-types that resist Close Combat, and the Fire-types that resist Megahorn.

Set Details
========

* Guts is the ability of choice because it allows Heracross to deal with status-spreading (AH) Pokemon such as Mega Sableye.
* Moxie can be used to help Heracross sweep opposing teams;, (Semicolon over comma) however, (AC) the utility of Guts is generally more useful for Fighting teams.

Usage Tips
========

* Heracross should use Knock Off early-game to cripple the walls that would switch into it such as Toxapex by removing their item. However, many setup sweepers that use Z-Moves such as Volcarona use Z-Stones, which cannot be Knocked Off, making a Heracross locked into Knock Off as setup bait.
* Heracross should also be used to revenge kill most slower threats, for example such as Latios and Togekiss.
* Be careful when locking Heracross into Close Combat when your opponent has a Ghost-type, for example like Mega Sableye on Dark teams, because, (AC) if they switch to it, Heracross will be forced to switch and will lose momentum.

========

* Heracross pairs well with most Fighting-types because of its ability to eliminate Psychic-types with Megahorn, (RC) and can also damage Ghost-types with Knock Off.
* Keldeo can handle Gliscor, Mega Scizor, and Skarmory for Heracross, while in return Heracross removes Psychic-types that wall Keldeo such as Celebi and Slowbro.
* Choice Scarf Terrakion can handle Choice Scarf users that outspeed Heracross such as Victini as well as handle Flying-types that would switch into Heracross. Alternatively, Rockium-Z (RH) Terrakion can easily break through the physical walls that would stop Heracross in its tracks.
* Cobalion can set Stealth Rock for Heracross as well as switch into Psychic-type attacks aimed at Heracross. Cobalion can also cripple faster threats with Thunder Wave such as Choice Scarf Latios, (RC) and safely bring Heracross in with Volt Switch.
* Infernape is a more offensive option for setting Stealth Rock that can also deal with the bulky Steel-types that wall Heracross, such as Mega Scizor, Doublade, and Skarmory.
* Lucario can handle the Fairy-types that completely wall Heracross with Steel STAB attacks, (RC) and can weaken its checks to allow Heracross to sweep late-game.
* Breloom can provide support with Spore as well as beat the bulky Ground-types that wall Heracross, for example such as Hippowdon and Gastrodon.

Other Options

Fighting
--------
* Pursuit can be used over Knock Off to trap opposing Victini that are attempting to switch, but it fails to OHKO Victini even at -1 Defense.
* Earthquake can be used over Stone Edge to target Toxapex, Magearna, and Doublade;, (Remove Comma, add Semicolon) however, (AC) it fails to 2HKO Toxapex and Doublade and it also leaves Heracross unable to deal significant damage to most Flying-types.
