- Rock Slide threatens Incineroar, Pelipper, and Volcarona. Flare Blitz is strong into Rillaboom, Amoonguss, and Gholdengo and can notably be used with a Fighting- or Ground-type move to pin Tera Grass or Bug Archaludon. - Rock Slide is used to hit Volcarona, Incineroar, and Pelipper. Flare Blitz is strong into Rillaboom, Amoonguss, and Gholdengo. Close Combat allows Hisuian Arcanine to threaten Kingambit.

Hisuian Arcanine uses Tera Water well against Rain teams, so having the ability to reset the weather through Alolan Ninetales is especially helpful. Hisuian Arcanine can also use Intimidate to make it easier for Alolan Ninetales to use Aurora Veil.
- Mirror Herb Hisuian Arcanine has been used on a more varied set of teams as it serves as a more offensive Intimidate user that still can notably threaten Kingambit. Common partners include either Indeedee forme and Snealser, as they benefit from Hisuian Arcanine's Intimidate support and ability to threaten Gholdengo, while Hisuian Arcanine appreciates their Psychic Terrain and ability to threaten opposing Sneasler and Maushold + Annihilape.
