Hitmonlee is someone that I want to see more, because it got a new ability that makes him the perfect late-game sweeper; Unburden. Unburden combined with Liechi Berry means that you get +2 speed and +1 attack, being able to OHKO almost anyone. But if you wanna go the old, reckless+High Jump Kick, thats fine by me.
Moveset: Substitute+3 attacks
-Substitute/Endure
-Reversal
-Stone Edge/Rock Slide
-Sucker Punch
Item:Liechi Berry
EVs: 252 Attack/252speed/4 hp
Nature:Adamant
Ability:Unburden
You see, the thing to do with this moveset is to use Substitute until you get to Liechi Berry range or using Endure when someone that can OHKO Hitmonlee switches in, activating the berry, and Unburden meaning you have +2 speed and +1 attack, ready to sweep most of the UU metagame, and almost all offensive pokes in OU,Reversal is obvious because you will be at 1 health, and that means that Reversal is 200 base power, not even counting STAB yet. Stone edge and rock slide is for Flying types and fire types, and Sucker Punch is for the Ghost and Psychic pokemon that try to sweep you.
Moveset: Same old, Same old.
-Hi Jump Kick
-Bullet Punch/Rock Slide/Stone Edge
-Pursuit/Sucker Punch
-Return/Poison Jab
Item: Leftovers/Life Orb/Focus Sash/ Choice Band/ Choice Scarf
EVs: 252atk/252speed/4 Hp
Nature:Adamant/Jolly
Ability:Reckless
Ugh, since B/W came out, i dont like this set, but whatever. Hi Jump Kick is obvious, with reckless it has a crazy amount of damage, but the recoil is gonna punch you in the face. Bullet Punch is for really fast pokemon, like Swellow and Pursuit or Sucker Punch are both somewhat gimmicky moves and Poison Jab is to hit Pure Grass types but Return is more reliable. EVs are obvious, ability is obvious, Item choice is all up to you, Leftovers is the usual one, because its leftovers, and Life Orb is to get more damage off, but recoil, Focus Sash is so you can atleast hit sweepers twice, and Choice Band is if you wanna hit hard, and Choice Scarf is if you wanna outspeed Swellow, who screws up Hitmonlee. And Stone Edge and Rock Slide is if your using Choice Scarf, but if your using anything else use Bullet Punch. The Item/Nature combo is something that goes like this:
Adamant Nature: Use Choice Scarf,Leftovers,Life Orb
Jolly Nature:Choice Band, Leftovers,Focus Sash
Counters:Its really hard to counter Hitmonlee, but I would say your best bet in UU is a defensive Spiritomb with Will-O-Wisp, which would wreck him. But in OU there are many counters, and all of them are defensive, Skarmory, Nattorei, Hippowdon, and Hariyama are all reliable.
Optional Changes: Mach Punch is usable, and Rapid Spin is a good support option. Earthquake is usable, but Hi Jump Kick and Reversal do everything that that can do, Fake Out is good with Choice Band, but you have to switch out right away. Knock off is another support option, but you will need a Focus Sash if your going to want to use Hitmonlee for support.
