Hey fellow Smogoners, this is my second RMT. It's been doing decently well on Shoddy, boosting my rating on shoddy by 300 (making it over 1300). However, I would appreciate extra advice.
AT A GLANCE:
IN DETAIL:
Infernape @ Focus Sash
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 24 Atk/252 Spd/232 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Close Combat
- Fire Blast
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Ice]
This set destroys many leads, and dishes out plenty of damage. Fire blast/ Close Combat for powerful STAB, GK for bulky grounds, and Hidden
Power for dragons that think they're walling the standard Mixape set. Focus sash is surprising and works unexpectedly well on this Infernape.
---
Tyranitar @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 216 Atk/196 Spd/96 SAtk
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Fire Blast
- Ice Beam
An awkward yet effective mixed Tyranitar moveset. Supports Garchomp with sandstorm and can plow through many things in his path. Crunch and Stone Edge for good STAB coverage, Fire Blast is a nice surprise for skarmorys that want to wall me, and ice beam for when I think the opponent is going to switch into bulky grounds or dragons.
---
Garchomp @ Yache Berry
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Fang
Beastly Garchomp set. Hits hard with a non-resisted Ground/Dragon/Fire combination. Yache Berry is included because I've seen pokemon such as Vaporeon and Suicune who think they can kill me with ice beam only to be killed by Sword Danced Earthquake. Fire Fang in my opinion is more effective with Swords Dance than having Fire Blast. Tyranitar and Garchomp combine to form an incredible main attack force.
---
Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 6 Def/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt
Choice Scarf revenge killing Gengar. Timid helps outrun modest scarf Gengar's and modest scarf Azelfs. Ghost/Fighting and Ice/Electric provide amazing type coverage. Also takes Close Combats and Earthquakes aimed at Tyranitar as well as Earthquakes aimed at Infernape.
---
Bronzong @ Shed Shell
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/152 Atk/8 Def/96 SDef
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Gyro Ball
- Stealth Rock
- Hypnosis
- Reflect/Light Screen?
Bronzong provides a plethora of resistances to this team. It counters a hand full of pokemon, most notably Gengar, Weavile, and Deoxys-E. Stealth Rock for secondary damage and Hypnosis for status. Not sure whether to have Reflect or Light Screen. Shed Shell is necessary because I don't want my only Gengar counter to fall at the hands of Magnezone.
---
Mesprit @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/176 Def/80 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt
- Grass Knot
- U-turn
I always like to carry something non-OU on my team, and this it. Mesprits main use is to status with Thunder Wave and then proceed to flee with U-turn. Thunderbolt is to take care of Gyarados, which poses a threat to my team. I picked Grass Knot over Ice beam for two reasons: I already have 3 ice moves on different pokemon, and it kills Wwampert and Mamoswine.
---
Team Strategy:
The strategy to this team is simple: Keep the opponent pressured with powerful attacks, annoying statuses, secondary damage, and surprises, such as Mixtar and Hidden Power Ice, Focus Sash Infernape.
Please help and rate this team =D.
