My previous thread sucked, as all I did was state a terrible joke that probably everyone has heard at least once. I think I need to learn how to properly post. Can someone potentially teach me so I may get better?

the first step to recovery is accepting that you're an objectively bad poster. You are on the right track and I have faith you will do well.
there are all kinds of good posts someone can make. Often times good posts require someone to put a good amount of effort into it. This is not always the case though as I sometimes put little effort into my posts and they still turn out good or just okay. See my thread on Tinnitus. It's a very meta joke and some people couldn't tell if I was being serious or if it was satirical.
There are plenty of ways on making a good post. The number one thing I always ask myself before I make a thread is what I'm trying to convey and than what my goal is by posting it.

Hmm...I suggest doing these things before posting each post.
- Check for badly spelled words and cringe
- Make sure people can understand your post.
