Hyper Offense

So, I'm pretty new to the whole metagame, started a few months ago, and I'm even newer to these forums, so spare my lack of knowledge. My team is a very offensive team, with three fighting types, and only one special attacker. It specializes in priority moves and speed, to take down those nasty baton passers, and to also prevent sweeps. I usually center around my jolteon, which is my specs voltswitcher, and special attacker. I constantly debate on whether I should I have max spd or max spA on it. I do not use rocks or spikes but I'm very resistant to them(because of those fighting types). I don't have a spinner either, but it still works out fine. my main concern is the overall synergy of the team. It has a lot of cracks and holes, and a lot of common weaknesses. my fighting types are consisted of conkeldurr, infernape, and breloom. I do not carry the focus punch set on my conkeldurr, but instead the bulk-up and mach punch. I wonder if I should have guts or iron fist though. The infernape is standard iron fist set, and my breloom is max speed technician set. I carry the standard banded scizor and a powerful scarfed kyurem-black as well. Kyurem is my late game sweeper and is extremely good at it. so without further ado here it is.

drug lord (Breloom) @ Leftovers
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Bullet Seed
- Mach Punch
- Spore
- Swords Dance
Breloom is my wild card. With the right predictions he can easily sweep. his max speed outspeed lots of water pokemon trying to land an ice beam, such as tentacruel, vaporeon, and politoed. He's a real pain in the neck until he gets paralyzed, or a first turn wake. The only thing that really counters it is Latios/Latias and alakazam.

ladies man (Conkeldurr) @ Life Orb
Trait: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Mach Punch
- Bulk Up
- Ice Punch
- Fire Punch
Conkeldurr is a switch in pokemon to semi-strong physical attackers. as he can then set up and start sweeping with the mach punch. The ice punch takes care of the flying threats, and the fire is there to wall skarmory, and other birds who take the neutral ice. The problem is when he gets burnt, and that is also why I'm debating the ability change. Jellicent completely walls this guy but still takes a considerable amount of damage after a bulk-up or two.

IM ON FIRE! (Infernape) @ Life Orb
Trait: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- ThunderPunch
- Mach Punch
- Flare Blitz
Infernape is a speed version of conkeldurr essentially. he's got a variety of moves, and with max speed is able to take down a lot of pokemon before being walled. his main threats are defensive D-nites, and essentially any other dragon type Pokemon.

135.gif

white boy (Jolteon) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Shadow Ball
I guess you could say he's like a rotom-w, but I chose him because of that massive speed, and the ability to put specs on him, instead of scarf. Right now I have max SAtk, which allows it to hit harder, but now I'm out sped by max spd alakazams which can turn out to be a big problem.

212.gif

swag (Scizor) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Bug Bite
- Superpower
- U-turn
Scizor is my boy, and arguably the best revenge killer in the game. The base 135 power bullet punch can pretty much inflict a decent amount of damage to anything, except quad resistances, and ferrothorn. And thats why he's got the superpower, to blaze through those steel types. The U-turn is for those magnezones, but I'm considering the pursuit instead. he's a great switch in to latios as well.

kyurem___black_forme_animated_sprite_by_therealzilla360-d55f3sh.gif

black boy (Kyurem-Black) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SAtk
Naughty Nature
- Fusion Bolt
- Ice Beam
- Outrage
- Rock Slide
He's the mvp of my team, and can OHKO almost anything that doesn't resist the outrage. The ice beam is just for those pesky landorus' and gliscors. The fusion bolt is for late game sweeping as well, but when there's a steel type involved. The rock slide is just for that special cloyster, or anything else that can take an outrage.

So thats my team, any comments or feedback would be appreciated.

make sure to read the how to make an rmt thread.

prity nice team with no gapping holes but i would suggest keeping to extremes when useing kyurem-b ie giveing him a jolly or adament nature rather then naughty and giveing him only phisical moves. but other then that this is a prity good. i hope to see you round the forums :)

Hey HigglyBiggly, I really like your Hyper Offensive team. It is really nice to see someone create a team that is not centered around weather. One pokemon that i think could really harass your team is Ferrothorn. It can take hits like a champ and completely walls your Kyrem-B. You do not have a pokemon that runs a fire-type move besides Flare Blitz on your Infernape. I recommend giving a fire-type move to one other pokemon just to make sure you can deal with that OP-mon.

Change:
On Kyrem-B change Ice Beam--->Hidden Power Fire
This should really help your team deal with all of those pesky Ferrothorns that litter the OU meta-game.
If you do not want to change Ice Beam to deal with Flying-type mons, change Rock Slide, however I think it is better to change Ice Beam because you already have Hidden Power Ice on Jolteon and Ice Punch on Conkeldurr.

Umm... Dexter, he's already got 4 pokemon packing powerful fighting moves. Ferrothorn can't wall Breloom, Conkledurr, Infernape AND Scizor- they all get supereffective hits and 2HKO it. Ice beam gives Kyurem-B STAB, which it kinda needs, as Outrage only gets a 50% chance (approx) to 2HKO Gliscor, who can get up the toxic. Landorus I, on the other hand, only has a 12.5% chance of getting OHKO by Outrage, and hits Kyurem with Focus Blast for between 95% and 112%, meaning it can threaten to revenge kill Kyurem, especially after Stealth Rock damage. It also means Kyurem can't risk trying to revenge kill Landorus.

Ice Beam, on the other hand, OHKO's Landorus, and with the Scarf, Kyurem definitely outruns it (unless it gets to boost with Rock Polish). Ice Beam basically stops Landorus from switching in or revenge killing Kyurem.

HigglyBiggly, you really do need Stealth Rocks, especially with an offensive team like this one. It breaks focus sashes, cripples Volcarona and Dragonite, and gives you some extra damage to turn 2HKO's to OHKOs. I would recommend Lead Terrakion over Conkledurr, as he can set up Stealth Rocks reliably and still hurt a lot of pokemon. Most of the coverage moves Conkledurr packs are already on other pokemon in your team, so you're not really losing anything. Another alternative is Mamoswine, as he too packs a punch, but gives you one less fighting type, meaning that Alakazam, Lati@s, and the like aren't quite so threatening once Scizor is injured or dead.

[pimg]478[/pimg]
Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Ability: Thick Fat
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Speed
-Stealth Rock
-Ice Shard
-Earthquake
-Endeavour/Stone Edge

With the focus Sash, Stealth Rocks are almost guaranteed. Ice Shard lts him revenge kill Dragonite, Salamence and Garchomp easily enough, while Earthquake provides powerful STAB. The last move is up to you. Endeavour +Ice Shard lets you beat a counter here and there if your Focus Sash is intact, while Stone Edge gives you strong coverage with Earthquake. Superpower is another option, but you already have plenty of fighting moves on your team, so I think Stone Edge is a better choice here.

If you don't mind the extra psychic weakness, Lead Terrakion is another powerful threat you could look at:

[pimg]669[/pimg]
Terrakion @ Focus Sash
Ability: Justified
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252Atk, 252 Speed, 4 HP
-Stealth Rock
-Taunt/Swords Dance
-Stone Edge
-Close Combat

Terrakion gets really good coverage with it's strong STAB moves, so it can use its remaining move slot to pack a utility move. Terrakion's high speed means it can Taunt other leads and stop them getting their hazards up, while Swords Dance lets you come in and sweep later in the game. The choice is up to you. However, I'd still recommend Mamoswine over this, as you have too much of a psychic weakness already, and Mamoswine seems to fit this team a bit better.

Hi there!

This is a really nice team you have here, with great use of such an underrated threat in the OU metagame, such as Choice Specs Jolteon, so props for using them in this creative team. However, there are some huge threats to your team, with some flaws as well. Hopefully my rate will help your team combat said threats while also ironing out those flaws, which will hopefully make this team reach it's full potential. With all that said, let's get to my rate. First up, the hugest threat to your team in my eyes is Choice Scarf Keldeo. Choice Scarf Keldeo is incredibly threatening to your team, as it literally can OHKO your entire team with just Hydro Pump and Secret Sword (Hydro Pump is a OHKO on Breloom in the rain). To remedy your Keldeo weakness, I would like to suggest running an Offensive Celebi in place of your current Jolteon. With Celebi, you rare able to not only counter Keldeo by hitting it with a STAB Leaf Storm or Psychic, it gives you an excellent offensive pivot fot your team. Also, in my eyes, with 2 extremely strong revenge killers in your team, I don't think you really need Jolteon. Now that I have focused on the big threat to your team, I would like to make some smaller suggestions. First up, I would like to recommend running an Adamant Nature over your current choice of a Jolly Nature. With an Adamant Nature, Breloom is allowed to grab KO's that you wouldn't normally get with a Jolly Nature. Staying on your Breloom, I would like to suggest running a Life Orb on it over your current choice of Leftovers. With Life Orb, Breloom gets the much needed KO's it needs, as this set is used mainly for sweeping. Up next, I suggest running a spread of 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD on your Scizor over your current spread. With this spread, Scizor still maintains the bulk and Attack it needs, while also giving it an extra opportunity to switch in to Stealth Rock. For my final suggestion, I would like to recommend running Dragon Claw on your current Kyurem-B over Rock Slide. Dragon Claw gives Kyurem-B a nifty extra STAB in situations when locking yourself into Outrage just isnot worth it. Well, that's all I have to say for now. I hope my advice helped. Have fun and good luck in your future endeavours!

I do not know you you guys play Hyper Offensive, but when I play I do not switch out of my pokemon cause I feel like I lose momentum. Therefore, I would put HP Fire on Kyrum-B so that I would not have to switch out to Ferrothorn, a totally overused pokemon.

Ferrothorn is the second most used pokemon in the OU tier with a 19.66% usage rate.

However, on any other team I totally agree with you Nemusus, it would be totally unnecessary.

This is just a quick nit-pick, and I really like your team. However, you mentioned putting pursuit on scizor. I would definitely make this change, replacing bug bite for pursuit. This allows for switch initiative with very powerful u-turns, although not technician boosted, while having pursuit for psychic types.

Dexter, Scarf Kyurem-B isn't something that tries to go 6-0 right out of the gate. It cleans up late game when most of its counters have been eliminated. With all the pokemon HigglyBiggly has that pack powerful fighting moves, Ferrothorn is not an issue. At all. If it tries to fight anything other than Kyurem-B and Jolteon, it dies.

Besides which, a lot of Ferrothorn users run rain to alleviate the fire weakness. In that circumstance, Kyurem-B's HP Fire does a whopping 30.68% max, meaning the best you can go for is a 4HKO. In normal weather, you can get a 2HKO. Barely. And you could get hit by Gyro Ball, which, after Stealth Rock, is a guaranteed OHKO. Basically, Kyurem-B vs. Ferrothorn is not a good match up for Kyurem-B. Let the rest of the team handle it, and then shred whatever the other guy has left with Outrage.

Hello, very offensive team you've got. I wanna start out with a threat that could easily sweep you team. Though not as common, it could still still cause a lot of trouble. That Pokemon is Scarf Salamence. Your team lacks anything that resists dragons except for Scizor but with no recovery move, it won't last much. Also none of your Pokemon can set up stealth rocks making Salamence easier to switch in and out. Sure Conkeldurr has Ice Punch but at +1 with Rocks and one Layer of spikes it has a pretty big chance to OHKO. I really suggest you try out a Steel type. I'd recommend:
Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip

This set allows you to hit Salamence who's stuck on Outrage with Gyro Ball which does decent amount of damage or set up Stealth Rocks forcing it to switch out if locked on a Dragon moves and making it think twice before switching in again. Though not as offensive as the rest of your Pokemon, it's still very helpful. Its leech seed could help your other Pokemon recover as well if you manage to predict correctly. You'd have to be careful of Magnezones because Ferrothorn can't do anything to them except try to leech seed them and you can't switch out because of Magnet Pull.

Cool team, hope I helped.

Have you ever considered using special Infernape? Your team can be walled by bulky physical threats such as Hippowdon. I think that by adding a special based infernape you would be better off and still keep priority in the form of Vacuum Wave.

Infernape @ Life Orb
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 4HP / 252SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Focus Blast
- Fire Blast
- Vacuum Wave
- Nasty Plot

Another change you might consider is changing your Conkeldurr for something that can lay hazards and keep the momentum at the same time. For this I recommend the Focus Sash Mamoswine. This set works in a self-explanatory way.

Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 4Def / 252Atk / 252Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Endeavor
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
