SS OU Hyper offense?

Let me start off with a thank you for swinging by and reading my post! I’ve built this team around magerna, garchomp & rillaboom core. I wanted to play around with grassy terrain rillaboom and the biggest issue I see is a lack of hazards control (which I know I can get around with the members I have) but let’s begin :psyglad:

Rillaboom @ Grassy Seed
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Stomping Tantrum
- Drum Beating
- Knock Off
The idea I had behind this set was to have rillaboom as either a lead or use proper prediction to switch in. Grassy seed supply’s some noticeable bulk. I’ve been debating on bulk up instead of swords dance. I haven’t tried bulk up yet But because swords dance has such appeal. Stomping tantrum because it’s not weaken like earthquake in grassy terrain. Drum beating because there no drawback like wood hammer. And knock off is a handy tool to have.

Garchomp @ Life Orb
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Crunch
- Stomping Tantrum
- Rock Slide
- Iron Head

Pretty straight forward break holes in my opponent’s Team I have iron head for fairys but I’ve been debating if fire fang would be more helpful. Also I’ve been thinking about maybe adding stealth rocks but garchomp is such a powerhouse

Magearna @ Assault Vest
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dazzling Gleam
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Aura Sphere

Don’t have much to say here besides soul-heart is an fantastic ability

So this is my main core I’d like to keep these Pokémon the rest of the team I would consider swapping members

Hawlucha @ Focus Sash
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Acrobatics
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Throat Chop
I mention a lack of hazard support I have this set because if set up correctly it’s a win condition but I was thinking of making a defog set but truth be told I don’t have much idea of how to make a supportive hawlucha work

Toxapex @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Baneful Bunker
- Haze
- Recover
- Scald

Even tho there not a whole lot of offensive power it is such an annoyance I figured it’s worth having. And haze tends to be a nice surprise. But I’ve been also debating on whether or not to put toxic spikes instead of scald since it doesn’t do much Damage anyway but I also want to avoid taunt bait.

Chandelure @ Choice Specs
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flamethrower
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Psychic

flash fire is a nice ability for a free switch in as well as its ghost typing I could probably get away with a choice scarf but the right support makes for a scary late game sweeper.

so that’s my team you’ll notice I don’t have moves like fire blast I can’t stand missing moves so near perfect accuracy is important to me. Thank you In advance for y’all help!

Hi, welcome to smogon. I'm gonna just say before rating this fully that the meta is very new and still recently having quick bans / new developments, so these changes might not work forever if more bans happen or more if just new things happen in the meta. That said, there set changes that I'd recommend, as well as a few mon changes to just optimize the team as a hyper offense team like what you're looking for.

First off, Rillaboom prefers life orb over grassy seed as the bulk isn't usually used, and for swords dance sets the power is appreciated. Grassy glide is always preferred as a grass STAB also, because it's strong in terrain and has priority, letting it outspeed faster Pokemon and KO frailer ones especially after boosting. Rillaboom also gets high horsepower which grassy terrain does not weaken, so use that instead.
Rillaboom @ Life Orb
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- High Horsepower
- Grassy Glide
- Knock Off
Garchomp becomes a bit harder to utilize as an attacker since it doesn't get high horsepower. The team also lacks hazards, so I'd recommend changing Garchomp to Landorus-T. A lead Landorus-T set will provide the team with hazards, and an early ground type breaker mon that can still hit hard, and in my opinion typically works better as a lead than Garchomp because it has Explosion and can fit in a utility move in the last slot with a moveset of Earthquake / Explosion / Stealth Rock / Filler. If you're 100% set on keeping Garchomp it's a little harder to fit as an attacker, but adding Stealth Rock and trying to fit this in as an offensive lead also might work, it just might not do the job as well. I'll add a Garchomp set from the Garchomp discussion thread also if this is what you want the team to look like, both are alright options.
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off / Rock Tomb
- Explosion
- Earthquake

Or

Garchomp @ Focus Sash / Life Orb
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Outrage / Scale Shot
- Fire Fang / Stone Edge
For the Magearna, I'd just make it a more offensive variant. The Pokemon is extremely threatening as it can get boosts while sweeping through a team. The set I'm using is from Ox the Fox's HO in the sample team thread, so I'll just stick to something simple suggested by good players with this one.
Magearna @ Leftovers
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 168 HP / 252 SpA / 88 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shift Gear
- Flash Cannon
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt
When paired with Rillaboom, Grassy Seed is the item to run on Hawlucha. It gets the boost to it's defense while getting the unburden speed boost, and won't rely on getting OHKO'd for the speed and power like with Focus Sash. The set from the strategy dex, while outdated slightly, recommends Taunt or Roost over Throat Chop which makes sense because a STAB powered up Acrobatics hits harder than a 2x super effective Throat Chop. (55*2*1.5=165 vs. 80*2=160)
Hawlucha @ Grassy Seed
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Acrobatics
- Close Combat
- Taunt / Roost
Toxapex just doesn't really fit here, as it takes away a lot of offensive momentum from a hyper offense team. Given that it's not really similar to anything offensive, this slot is fairly customizable. I'll just suggest here to use one of the most threatening sweepers currently, by changing Toxapex to Kyurem-B. The set I'm using is once again from that sample HO team, and it works well threatening most of the meta offensively and is great at cleaning up weakened teams if it can get a boost off.
Kyurem-Black @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Fusion Bolt
- Icicle Spear
Finally, the last thing I'd do is change Chandelure to Spectrier. Spectrier has shown to be a very threatening Pokemon for just running through teams because it's ability is similar to Magearna's where when it gets a KO, it gets +1 in SpA. I think this Pokemon as a ghost is much more powerful than Chandelure due to them having the same Special Attack while Spectrier has a much higher speed and a better ability for sweeping. The set is fairly standard, just a sub NP that is great at sweeping.
Spectrier @ Leftovers
Ability: Grim Neigh
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Shadow Ball
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse

So those are all the changes I'd make. It was more optimization of roles you already had such as changing the offensive ground to an offensive hazard lead ground, making the ghost type likely more threatening, changing Toxapex to be offensive, and just fixing some sets to make them more reliable. Here's the full updated team with Lando in over Garchomp as the placeholder, hopefully it does well for you! https://pokepast.es/8ce91a4dbae0e070
