I Call This Team: MATH CLASS (OU Rate)

The reason I call this team Math Class is because this team gives kids PROBLEMS!! >:D

Anyways down to business:

Gyarados.png

"Math Class" A.K.A. Gyarados @ Life Orb
252 Attack/252 Speed
Jolly Nature
Intimidate

- Dragon Dance
- Bounce
- Waterfall
- Earthquake

I like my Math Class because like the name states, it gives kids PROBLEMS. This is my starter, my opponent usually switches out and gives me a free Dragon Dance. Which is usually enough to sweep one or two 'mons out of their team.

"BODY BAG" A.K.A. Chandelure @ Choice Scarf
252 Sp. Attack/252 Speed
Timid Nature
Flame Body

- Overheat
- Shadow Ball
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power (Ground)

My revenge killer BODY BAG. Putting ya'll kids in a BODY BAG!! hahaha but yea. Usually can out-speed most things. HP Ground takes care of heatran. Overheat and Fire Blast are there for STAB, Shadow ball just for coverage.

"ALLA DAT" A.K.A. Scrafty @ Life Orb
252 Attack/252 Speed
Jolly Nature
Moxie

- Dragon Dance
- Ice Punch
- Hi Jump Kick/ Drain Punch
- Stone Edge

This 'mon is ALLA DAT* if he can get a Dragon Dance off there is usually nothing that can stop it. Ice Punch takes care of Skarm etc... Considering taking off Life Orb for Leftovers.. IDK

Scizor @ Choice Band
Technician
Adamant 248/252/0/0/0/8
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Pursuit
- Superpower

I realise that I had a really bad Latios problem and nothing could withstand a Draco from him, so Scizor is put in instead of Gengar. I thought that I needed Gengar incase a Fighting move was going to be directed to Blissey so I can get a free switch in. What do you guys think?

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Poison Heal
Impish 252/0/184/0/0/72
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Swords Dance
- Taunt

I was told that Gliscor would be a better replacement for Landorus, what do you guys think?

"ANNOYING" A.K.A. Blissey @ Leftovers
252 Sp. Defence/252 Hitpoints
Bold Nature
Natural Cure

- Softboiled
- Aromatherapy
- Toxic
- Seismic Toss

Blissey is probably the most annoying wall in game. The Bold nature coupled with Sp. Def ev's puts the Sp. Defence at a respectable 368. Aromatherapy takes care of people trying to put a burn or toxic on my Sweepers. Softboiled to recover damage and Seismic Toss as an attacking move.

Final Team So far:

- Gyarados
- Chandelure
- Scrafty
- Blissey
- Landorus REPLACED WITH: Gliscor
- Gengar REPLACED WITH: Scizor

So yea, I've had decent success with this team. Anything that would be benificial would be really awesome. Thanks.

I think you meant stone edge on scrafty and what's with high jump kick? He should really be carryng drain punch for easy recovery

yea i meant stone edge, and I just put Hi Jump instead of Drain punch because its a stronger move. Would DP be better?

Definitely it's still stab but it gives you health back. All self respecting fighting types take it if they can get it.

At the moment Excadrill smashes through this team, and it sets up effortlessly on Blissey, or even worse, Landorus locked into Outrage (which is a horribe move for Landorus by the way). I suggest replacing Ladorus with the standard Swords Dance Gliscor.

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Poison Heal
Impish 252/0/184/0/0/72
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Swords Dance
- Taunt

You also have a bit of a weakness to Latios since nothing can switch into Draco Metero besides Blissey, who you do not want to be crippled by Trick or Psyshock, so I'd suggest a CB Scizor over Gengar.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Technician
Adamant 248/252/0/0/0/8
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Pursuit
- Superpower

And lastly I suggest Lum Berry > Life Orb on Scrafty so that you can get more chances to set up.

Your descripitions are lacking a bit so you should add to them or this thread could be locked.

Good luck.

Hey there,

I don't agree with Rofellos on Hi Jump Kick < Drain Punch. Since you're running a Dragon Dance set, you'll want all the power you can, since Scrafty is pretty weak (base 90 attack is fairly low). I think you SHOULD use Hi Jump Kick, but Drain Punch isn't a bad move either. It just lacks a bit of power since your damage input will be fairly low.

Also, you have nothing on your team that can take Rotom-W in rain properly. Gyarados can't touch it and is destroyed by a specs boosted Thunder(bolt). Blissey also has a chance of being 2HKOed by Specs Hydro Pump in rain after Stealth Rock, and nothing else can pretty much take the Hydro Pump. This can give you big issues considering Politoed's popularity. For that reason, you should change Gengar for Latias. Latias is able to take those Water and Electric moves that your team hate so much and set up on them. Here's what you should use :

Latias @ Leftovers
Timid
Levitate
EVs : 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
-Dragon Pulse
-Surf / HP Fire
-Recover
-Calm Mind

You can also use max Special Attack if you're a big fan of power, but be aware it will still take huge damage from Hydro Pump when unboosted.

First off, this is a very good team, and i like my problems complicated. I have seen a few flaws when i checked over your test. First of all, you have no counter to Excadrill. I would recommend putting Gliscor in over Landorus. They have the same typing, but Gliscor is bulkier. The standard Gliscor set is:

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
Nature: Impish
252 HP, 184 Def, 72 Spe
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Ice Fang
-Protect/Taunt

Also, I think you should run Nasty Plot Thundurus over your gengar for better type coverage with Grass Knott over HP ice for your weakness to pokes with similar typing to Gastrodon. This is the set:

Thundurus @ Leftovers
Nature: Timid
Trait: Prankster
Evs: 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 HP
-Nasty Plot
-Thunderbolt
-Grass Knot/ HP Grass
-Focus Blast

Next is just a few nitpicks:
You should run max Defense over Max Sdefense for better bulk, so. Liss can survive somemphysical hits. Next, you should put Flash Fire on Chandelure, so your Overheats get powered up even more.

Hope this helps

Don't agree? Hi jump has a chance of hurting you more often than doing damage. Dp is standard for most fighting guys since it's their only decen recovery

The Rules said:
3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.

This does not mean add one sentence saying "Standard x" or "all-around awesome" after each Pokemon. If you put thought into making the team, you can put thought into posting it.

You might want to add more descriptions to your Pokemon to help keep your thread from being locked and potential team raters make more thorough rates of your team. Now...

Math class never gave me any problems, but that's besides the point. Note that this rate corresponds to the amount of information given.

Gyarados: Gyarados isn't a great idea for a lead, given the near ubiquity of Ferrothorn, Latios, and especially Rotom-W. They all force Gyarados out with the threat of being walled by the first and third, and being outsped and OHKOed by the second and third. From there, they all can proceed to wreak havoc on your team. Blissey can't be used as a reliable switch-in to Rotom or Latios because of the threat of Trick from the both of them, and Psyshock from Latios, which deals a minimum of 77.03% to Blissey, assuming it's using a Choice Scarf. Your Scrafty can't switch in on Trick, but otherwise it's a reliable switch-in on Latios, which will allow it to set one Dragon Dance up. However, Scrafty can't switch in on Rotom-W without risking taking a Will-o-wisp to the face, and because your Scrafty lacks Shed Skin, it can't do much. With that in mind, I'd recommend just careful playing to handle those threats.

Chandelure: Flame Body lol. Switch that to Flash Fire so you can support your team better. With the threat of Latios, I'd recommend switching this out for the CB Scizor Tobes recommended. You already have Landorus for the revenge killing role, so Chandelure is not as needed.

Scrafty: Drain Punch or Hi Jump Kick. Well, what do you desire? Do you want more power for your buck, or do you want recovery at the cost of some power? Fun fact: your Fighting STAB does more than Ice Punch to Skarm. Keep Ice Punch though, because Gliscor walls you should you not have it. I'd recommend using Crunch over Stone Edge, so you can get a good blow on Jellicent and other Ghosts that will try to wall you. On that same token, you also should consider Shed Skin over Moxie to make set-up against Ghosts easier.

Gengar: Once Hynosis has incapacitated one member of your opponent's team, Tyranitar gives problems to your Gengar. In fact Tyranitar gives problems to most of your current team (Gyarados can't switch in on it, Chandelure dies to it, Gengar loses without Focus Blast, Landorus has to watch for Ice Beam, and Blissey dies because of the lack of Defense). Because of that, I'd recommend Focus Blast over Hidden Power Fire on your Gengar so you can nail Tyranitar on the switch. I'd also recommend Disable or Pain Split over Hypnosis to wreck Conkeldurr and other fighters that may set up on Gengar.

Landorus: Outrage on Landorus is not a good idea. Replace that with Stone Edge, which provides better neutral coverage. Hidden Power Fire seems a bit unneeded, considering that Scrafty can set up on Ferrothorn, so I'd recommend changing the Hidden Power type to Ice. Consider U-turn over Hammer Arm.

Blissey: I don't see what Blissey is doing for your team. It just seems haphazardly thrown in there. I'd recommend Gliscor in this team slot to deal with opposing sand teams better. Should you disregard this replacement recommendation, then read the following advice regarding Blissey. Blissey NEEDS 252 Defense EVs to even stand a chance against an unboosted physical attack. The Special Defense EVs are unneeded, given Blissey's massive Special bulk. The moves are alright, and I don't see anything that has to be changed. Stealth Rock is an option over Toxic to help provide further team support.

I wouldn't mind Gliscor in this spot, but what set should I run with Gliscor?

Small nitpick although I recommend you change Scizor's Ev spread to 244 Hp 252 Atk 12 Spe. Just so you can outspeed opposing Scizors. Just a suggestion.
