Hey!
I wanted to make a team surrounding a Dragapult and Alakazam core because i think that they're awesome pokemon. I am not experienced with building teams, this is one of my first teams. I would like some help with the team to make it better, if this team even has a chance of getting good. In nat-dex singles
Alakazam @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
I'm using this Alakazam build for my team. I use timid because I like having a speed advantage. I also use focus blast because the typings it can hit are more versatile than using a fairy move like dazzling gleam even though it's much more risky because of the 70 accuracy. As y'all can see, i use focus sash on my Alakazam this is more for situations where I cant OHKO, want to set up a nasty plot, or if I need to swap it in without securing a free switch.
Dragapult @ Choice Band
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Darts
- Phantom Force
- Sucker Punch
- U-turn
I'm using a choice band Dragapult. I thought about using a specs one, but i thought since Alakazam uses SpAtk, then it would be cool to use a physical attack Dragapult. I also thought it would be nice to have a powerful u-turn mon. The other stuff is pretty basic, so i don't feel there's any need to explain it.
Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Choice Band
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- Aqua Jet
- U-turn
I added a fighting type to help with the dark type weakness for both Alakazam and Dragapult. It is also a pretty good wallbreaker because of its choice band. As you can tell, im a big fan of choice band u-turn mons. It also has water moves to cover ground types which sucks for Galarian-Slowking. I pretty much always run jolly nature for mons with choice band since they're given an attack boost, and would rather have a little more speed than a little more attack.
Aerodactyl @ Aerodactylite
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Defog
- Earthquake
- Roost
I added Mega-Aerodactyl for flying resistance and also maybe a fast EQ'er to take down some electric pokemon. I was supposed to use hone claws instead of defog, but i met many people with hazards, and using defog on Aerodactyl just worked for some odd reason. Even though i do have EQ for some electric pokemon, i might not always have a chance to beat them, so i added;
Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 SpD
Bold Nature
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Toxic
This man right here. This is an electric restistant pokemon with regenerator. This is a mixed wall, because of my other pokemon are really offensive, i wanted to squeeze in as much defense as possible. This has botch spore and toxic which is really good, but it gets hard cancelled by ferrothorn who is pretty common. Despite of this, its a pretty good swap-in when needed to.
Slowking-Galar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 180 Def / 56 SpA / 24 SpD
Calm Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Future Sight
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam
Last but not least; Galarian Slowking. I added this for pretty similar reasons Amoonguss, only that this is more for more move diversity. This also has the ability regenerator, so its a pretty good "swap in then out" pokemon, with good move coverage if i need it to stay in. I always try to get off a Future sight if I can, because its good damage wise.
this is my team. im sorry if i didnt explain stuff good enough, but i hope y'all get the picture. Any improvements criticism and/or criticism would be greatly appreciated! Any general advice for team building would also be awesome. Thank you.
