I want to write a guide but is it okay?

Hey this isn't really a suggestion as it is more of an idea for a guide I wanted to write but I'm not certain if it's okay or if it breaks any of the smogon.com rules. The reason I'm posting it here is because the description of the suggestion box says that If you have an Idea to post it here.

Anyway, I want to write a guide similar to the RNGing guide but the only difference would be that this guide would teach you how to "make" 100% legit pokemon that would pass any legitimacy test program. I've spoken to people on here, other forums and friends in real life and most of them would like to read such a guide.

YOU WILL NOT BE NEEDING AN ACTION REPLAY FOR THIS! I want to teach the community how they can create 100% legit pokemon (including proper PIDs, escape sequences in names/nick names and more basic things like proper ID/SID). You will only need a copy of pokemon gen5 and a computer.

Would it be okay to write such a guide or will I be scold and be labeled the pokemon antichrist?

This doesn't sound like something we would want, at least to me. Others can weigh in but I'm uncomfortable with the idea.

Well we all use pokemon-online simulator and not train the pokemon on there anyway right but we all enjoy the benefits from it :) and most of us will never really make those pokemon. That could be considered cheating if you think about it (you gained all that extra time of trying your team(s) before a major tourny without ever needing to waste hours RNGing each one :)).

But I'm completely okay with that, I understand if no one would like it. Just trying to contribute my knowledge to the community.

Smogon is not here to teach people how to cheat in competitive Pokemon. We have a decent-sized playerbase that plays in official competitions by The Pokemon Company International and I think I speak for a good amount of those participants when I say we'd rather have people caught by hack checks than not.

Angelica Pickles said it best: "If you have to ask, you'll never know." Honestly, with the RNG guides on site and the triviality of RNG abuse in BW, learning how to hack "legal" mons is more work than raising legit ones. Big, big no here.

"Smogon is not here to teach people how to cheat in competitive Pokemon"

Well I'm sure most smogon users clone pokemon at the very least which isn't really possible unless you cheat. My method wouldn't involve an AR so I don't feel like it would be any more cheating then RNGing is cheating.

@NixHex
"learning how to hack "legal" mons is more work than raising legit ones." Not true at all, I learned how to RNG about a year ago and I'm still a bit rusty at it. RNGing a pokemon will usually take me approximately an hour. My girlfriend on the other hand is an RNGing machine. She can RNG anything within 30 minutes or less. But the method I've learned produces the same results as RNGing in 5-10 minutes worth of time all with NO AR required (actually the only reason I learned this method was to save her time).

To be fair no one here will ever truly know if the pokemon they receive were genuinely bred (RNGed or not) or if someone used this method. IMO it really doesn't matter either way. The only argument I've ever heard vs cheaters that made sense to me is that they mess up their game cartridge because of the ARs, which isn't needed.

Well, that's two mods that wouldn't like to see this guide so that's good enough for me. Hope this wasn't any trouble. :)

Happy Pokemoning!
