As one-half of the non-conflict-of-interest gym committee, I'm going to step in here and say that I've been hearing and seeing a lot of things that are unseemly for prospective gym leaders. So I'm going to take a moment to make a couple things perfectly clear.
Gym Leaders are expected to be competent enough to make decisions and order in their battles of their own power and capabilities.
Asking a friend for help with a certain action set is one thing. Commiserating with a gaggle of people on irc over every round is entirely unacceptable behaviour for a gym leader and will not be tolerated. I expect both of you from now on to make your own orders with minimal outside help; as gym leader you will be expected to be able to defend your gym with your own abilities.
Secondly, a matter of accord that is not confined to this gym match:
Gym Leaders are expected to be timely with their orders. Promptness is preferred, timeliness is expected, tardiness is maligned.
Gym Leaders will inherently suffer a heavier load of challenges than normal users and they are expected to be active enough to handle such a load. Consistent lengthy durations in ordering is not considered acceptable decorum for a gym leader. If one cannot maintain a timely manner of posting within their match then perhaps a gym leader position is not suitable.
Take note, I will be following this match more closely from now on and if I feel that the standards of the gym applicants are not up to par I will consider cancelling this qualifier until a further date.
On a softer note, note that these reprimands are not directed solely at you, I will be posting paraphrased notices in the Gym thread to serve as notice to all Gym Leaders as to their expectations.
